I'm getting tired so I'll try and answer this quick and simple. To some it is the point between life and death such as the water vapour reaching to the sun atop the highest peaks. This darkest light the gateway formed by the image of the two intersecting tetrahedrons. The seed falls as the gateway opens then the cube unfolds and so the everlasting cycle is renewed. Like snow (hexagon, six pointed) the flow of life begins it's next journey, it's next wheel and so it turns. It is also the highest point within this cycle/ring/round, the point at which we will all move to the next cycle at some point in the future. I'm not a hardcore mystic but I think it's where those that have become Buddha's, Saint's etc abide/wait. Sorry I'm too tired and to be honest I don't go out of my way to remember all my insights otherwise I might end up as a fruitcake! Snow, light water these should help you understand. For those that just want to see it now you can either die or take a deep sniff of something containing ketone's, which probably won't kill you but you might get a whole bunch of hallucinations'. You might get to see the white field on glue but I don't recommend this or ketone's.

Darin it's experiential I can tell you stuff and point and say this and that and it may help lead you to your own realisation/s but to be honest there's plenty of blinding teachings out there. Perhaps you have even experienced more mystical states than me perhaps you are more enlightened than me. But one thing is true we can all only work with what we have learned, know and experienced. I mentioned on one of my recent posts how I had a peak experience years ago where my head/mind seemed to expand for miles and I felt a deep peace and connectedness to everything. I have spoken to old people that are not spiritual and they said they have had such experiences. I could tell you about the oneness but MC Escher is good for that. Anyway spiritual practice is about cultivation so my experiences may not count for much at the end of the day but they have certainly helped me evolve my own practice which has much in common with Taoism and Tibetan Buddhism.

OK I had a quick look through the book, very quick, and I can't see anything particularly negative misleading or dangerous in it. My personal view about initiations not being able to be taught, especially by mp3, still stand though. This system actually looks quite interesting and I'd be happy to hear how other people have gotten on with it. I'm therefore giving Lama Tantrapa the benefit of the doubt regrading what he means by 'initiation'. Perhaps there's room for clarity here. Anyway from my quick glance of the book all I can say is it looks interesting.

I understand but more importantly do you? Using a technique to flick the switch is one thing understanding what you're actually doing is another. I'm not trying to dis Max or anybody here all I'm asking is do people realise what they are doing? Potency often means there's more chance of difficulties down the line. And it has already been stated that Max pretty much sits on the edge of discarding all attachments to the physical plane. You can't come back once you've jumped! It's also worth remembering that you can suffer severe depression when you return from the bliss. Maybe not now maybe not next year but it will come. For some people it might be using a whole rounds worth of bliss in one life time. It's all pretty much an individual thing which is why care should be taken. It's similar to an intense passionate love affair in that if you get in too deep you may get burnt. I may as well make a sweeping statement here seeing that so many like to put Max on a pedestal! Nirvanic bliss is not enlightenment, knowing about the bliss is simply the beginning of learning to live with it or how to flow/dance with it. I'm sure Max's system is right for some people just make sure it's right for you.

I used to be able to see peoples nimbus's under certain conditions and one morning at dawn I saw see a pink hue around some trees in my back garden and no I didn't drink back then. I decided to not develop the ability as I'm not into all that stuff as I've mentioned several times before. I'm intrigued that I haven't heard about this before as I'm pretty familiar with most occult type phenomenon. I used to especially read up on OBE's/Astral planning. This book is a really good read with tons of accounts and experiences: http://www.amazon.com/Study-Practice-Astra...n/dp/0806505478 Did managed to do it a few times but again not really into such things.

All true spiritual initiations are experiential and therefore can't be taught only pointed to. The very idea of 'selling' a spiritual initiation is as ludicrous as it is disrespectful. By the way if anybody has a copy I could do with a good laugh.

After giving this a little thought this is my conclusion/opinion. It's very uncommon for people to see coloured orbs floating about so they are most likely to be emanations from your unconscious mind impinging upon your waking conciousness. People I've spoken to in the past have seen coloured spheres in their dreams. The sphere is an archetype often symbolising perfection, wisdom or higher knowledge and the colour to some degree also has an archetypal importance. It is rumoured that 33rd degree Masons are buried with a stone sphere. Sceptre's of rulers or kings often have a sphere on one end and saints, Buddha's and masters often have the nimbus or halo around their head symbolic of their wisdom and enlightenment. I therefore figure that the blue orbs represent your unconscious mind manifesting your desire to be around enlightened beings but also, the white orb, of finding some higher truth possibly even a teacher. I'm not sure about the blue but I figure it's symbolic of a possible yearning for esoteric knowledge such as that of advanced yogic systems. Green would be more about the healing arts and red is more to do with universal love and service to others. So basically it's a message from god!!

Hmm this could make an interesting thread because can anything ever truly be said to be accidental? In the process of 'getting straight' haven't we all had rather odd experiences which some might suggest are pure chance yet others say have more to do with Jung's idea of synchronicity?

Yes that sounds spot on as we all know that alcohol make peoples eyes glazed/shiny but most people don't realise that very large quantities of alcohol makes colours seem very bright. Thanks very insightful.

At least it's a change from the duality fetish!

I figure you simply have to realise your true nature. There is a way in which we don't exist because our ego is impermanent, in the sense of being ever changing, and our conciousness is nothing but air in a bubble. It is said that when we can see through the ego we experience our true self. Without the ego there would be no perception of conciousness yet ever lessening the ego brings you closer to an experience of bliss and the famous nirvanic bliss of 'being which is non-being'. Once this is experienced your desires for earthly life begin to fall away as you are drawn further and further into the bliss. Now beings that enter Nirvana still have the finest of egos so will eventually reincarnate but this gets rather complex so lets just say it won't be for a very long time, apparently. There is also the ongoing argument about Bodhisattva's being more noble than the Buddha's because they decide not to completely enter nirvana until all sentient beings become enlightened. I chose the Bodhisattva path twenty years ago although I'm not a full initiate as there are still things I've yet to understand and my experiences of nirvanic bliss are probably low on the scale. I'm not in any rush although the modern world greats on me somewhat.

Not sure I agree that existence is a duality. I figure existence is simply what it is but man likes to impose his erroneous views on it. In fact it might be argued by some that a certain select few purposely perpetuate the idea of duality as it serves their own ends. Of course I'm not buying into any conspiracy theories here but I figure some people are following a lie! I mean what's with all this checkered floor stuff with the Masons? Of course the Masons are all about buSINess along with all it's vanity and greed. It's been the same old story for a very long time i.e. Divide and conqueror. The symbolism of the Masons dividers and set square in one sense suggests they're aware of sacred geometry and in another that they're so 'clever' as to use such knowledge. Whether you think the modern world is 'heaven on earth' or not don't forget all the blood that it was built on. There is no duality.

Let's not mention NLP or I'll end up getting banned again!

I find it rather disturbing, sometimes even slightly amusing, that people are so eager to mess with their reality. Most of you here are aware of the gateway through the pineal gland to the dream spheres (astral's, loka's, bardo's) but knowing about such things doesn't mean they exist to be consciously used and to think such is a stumbling block to any true spiritual progress. I've had a few semi lucid dreams recently, mainly because I've been drinking, and they've all been rather dark and disturbing yet the special effect were top notch! I don't normally remember my dreams and that's probably because I'm not interested in special effects. As I've mentioned before on this forum I've done the out of body stuff as well as time travel and manifesting things/stuff and it's all simply the special effects of the mind! Needless to say messing with such things inevitably ends in madness because the blurring of your reality is an ego trip. I won't deny that people believe they saw someone levitate but I know in the physical realm this is impossible. Experience being a superman and then let it go otherwise you risk getting burnt! Tempting people with the idea of special powers simply shows you how unenlightened such teachers are. Yes nearly all masters, teachers etc (they're really all just people) are aware of the special effects but only the idiot ones give any credence to them. Check your motives before you take the red pill lest you end up another idiot master or worse a rambling schitzo.

That is amusing but also makes a very good point.

The "Get a Job, Have a Wife, Make a Child , Get a Life" Thread
Patrick Brown replied to 宁's topic in General Discussion
I figure more and less self are the same thing. Think of day and night on the earth or perhaps the moon phases.
