烏肝 & 兔髓 = 魂 & 魄 ~~~ The cultivation of the ‘hun & po’ in the Huang Ting Jing 黃 庭 經 講 的 魂 魄 修 煉, Huáng tíng jīng jiǎng de hún pò xiū liàn, is the same as the cultivation of the ‘crow & rabbit’ in Wuzhen. 跟 悟 真 篇 講 的 烏 兔 修 煉,是同樣的 gēn wù zhēn piān jiǎng de wū tù xiūliàn, shì tóngyàng de ~~~ Hun/crow is like the cloud and mist of the northern-lights 魂者,云也 如同北極光之雲霧,烏肝也 Po/rabbit is only white light 魄者,白也 如同玉兔之白光,兔髓也 Also see https://www.thedaobums.com/topic/53618-the-reason-why-a-person-who-only-has-qi-in-his-lower-abdomen-cant-understand the-huang-tingjing/?do=findComment&comment=983400 and the post above it.
  5. Benjamin Hoff's "Tao Te Ching"

How did you get on with the academic paper? * https://www.thedaobums.com/topic/53660-benjamin-hoffs-tao-te-ching/?do=findComment&comment=982333
  6. Benjamin Hoff's "Tao Te Ching"

    Mooi zo. : )
  7. Benjamin Hoff's "Tao Te Ching"

Hoff imo has been entirely discredited. See https://www.thedaobums.com/topic/53660-benjamin-hoffs-tao-te-ching/?do=findComment&comment=983300
  8. Benjamin Hoff's "Tao Te Ching"

Henricks is a very highly esteemed Sinologist. : )
  9. Benjamin Hoff's "Tao Te Ching"

I checked about 20 of their DDJ transcripts and they are identical * to Henricks. * some exceptions, very rare indeed and mostly explainable
  10. Benjamin Hoff's "Tao Te Ching"

There is an English version that has all the strips pictured. It is on on DIO. It has the Guodian characters. And it has the English transcripts and their meanings next to it. See https://www.thedaobums.com/topic/53660-benjamin-hoffs-tao-te-ching/?do=findComment&comment=983348
  11. DDJ Grammar

Classical Chinese does not have periods or commas, * these are part of the English interpretations. It uses a different system for marking pauses in the text, e.g. characters like 也 and patterns of repetition. * exceptions, see intro Henricks MWD
  12. Greetings

Could one connect it with the Hindu chakra system? E.g. like something like this: KETER -> chakra #7 (crown chakra) BINA & CHOCHMA -> chakra #6 (third eye chakra) DA’AT -> chakra #5 (throat chakra) DIN & CHESED -> chakra #4 (heart chakra) TIF’ERET -> chakra #3 (yellow chakra) HOD & NECACH -> chakra #2 (orange chakra) JESOD & MALCHIT -> chakra #1 (root chakra)
  13. Benjamin Hoff's "Tao Te Ching"

It’s pretty amazing really, quite a few of the characters have hardly changed at all over 2300 years! E.g.the first two characters of Ch 2 , 天下
  14. Benjamin Hoff's "Tao Te Ching"

    ‘Dao Is Open’ ( http://www.daoisopen.com/index.html ) has the English too. E.g. Ch 2 at http://www.daoisopen.com/A6toA9Chapters64b37632.html and http://www.daoisopen.com/A9toA10Chapters232.html
  15. Benjamin Hoff's "Tao Te Ching"

I had a 10 second read and realised it is way beyond my level.
  16. Benjamin Hoff's "Tao Te Ching"

Good to see you happy. So you did, lol https://www.thedaobums.com/topic/53660-benjamin-hoffs-tao-te-ching/?do=findComment&comment=982333
  17. Benjamin Hoff's "Tao Te Ching"

    @wandelaar I found this review https://www.academia.edu/7898095/Review_Article_of_The_Bamboo_Texts_of_Guodian_A_Study_and_Complete_Translation_By_Scott_Cook
  18. Benjamin Hoff's "Tao Te Ching"

Gosh, yes, I was tempted to buy it, it looks really interesting. But I think it discuses Confucian books. My interest is in DDJ and I think that’s in volume II.
  19. Benjamin Hoff's "Tao Te Ching"

When I look at the transcripts the characters give me an entirely different meaning, that’s very simple, easy to understand and good practical advice.
  20. Benjamin Hoff's "Tao Te Ching"

I think bits are basically unintelligible.
  21. Benjamin Hoff's "Tao Te Ching"

“impractical”. Hmm … could you say a bit more about that?
  22. Benjamin Hoff's "Tao Te Ching"

It’s like they all copy each other, they are all in the same range; Hoff too (based on the preview only).
  23. Benjamin Hoff's "Tao Te Ching"

Seeing the link above, me thinks ‘so much for the Hoff’.
  24. Vedic Christianity

    Moved to my PPD https://www.thedaobums.com/topic/53685-posts-to-think-about/?do=findComment&comment=983286
  25. Oh thank you so much for your ‘like’. I am sitting here crying for the dead, then they are being blamed for it. Thought I was ranting a bit, thought this is for me worth getting banned for.
