I have a childlike trust in God, it is my biggest treasure. I am sorry for your loss.

I don’t do Push Hand. In daily living when ‘it’ pushes, I pull; when ‘it’ pulls, I push.

It only takes a critical mass of people to speak up to brake the spell. (the critical mass theory) Not scientifically underpinned, but I like it. :-)

Ethical conduct indispensable for attaining enlightenment or Buddhahood
Cobie replied to Ajay0's topic in Buddhist Discussion
Studies on young children suggest that morality is learned, not an instinct. Imo all systems do set moral rules for this reason, they have to come from the outside. Buddhists have e.g. the Five Precepts. -

Carl Jung called it synchronicity. I have this all the time. Works very well for me actually; usually gives me exactly what I need. I just am grateful for it and call it a mystery.

Article, "The Power of Shikantaza Compared to the Jhanas"
Cobie replied to Mark Foote's topic in Buddhist Discussion
Thanks, I had forgotten about that one having the flute. Could be that’s where the Rumi flute originated. Nice one. “Creativity is taking someone else’s stuff and doing your own thing with it”. (forgot who said that). -
Article, "The Power of Shikantaza Compared to the Jhanas"

“shikantaza” the word comes from the pronunciation of 只 管 打 坐 (zhi1 guǎn dǎ zuò) only | a flute | do | sit Reminds me of Rumi, “We are as the flute, and the music in us is from thee;” https://allpoetry.com/We-Are-As-The-Flute That reminds me of the core of the 大 學 [(da4 xue2) ‘the Great Learning’] 格 物 (ge2 wu4) come to terms with | reality. -
really Wishing you all a fine fall autumn. Spring and fall in Dutch is: lente: from Old-Germanic ‘langat-īn’ (lengthening days). herfs: from Proto-Germanic ‘harbista’ (harvest time).

I feel very despondent about this AI thing. To the point of being glad I’m old and will die soon.

Yes. Total confusion.

I agree. Total slavery.

I think we could all become slaves of AI.

@liminal_luke thanks for the like.

imo: None of this is real. It’s all inside your own imagination. You need professional help from a counsellor. Especially to build up a healthy sense of self that’s completely separate from other people.

Why the note? The thread is in ‘The Rabbit Hole’; that’s described with ‘feel free to get weird’, I see no mention it has to be about Buddhism.

Back on topic. “The serpent which came forth from the earth has risen; the flame which came forth from Nun is fallen.” That means his penis has risen and his brain has fallen in the gutter.

Ancient Egyptians used eyeliner to represent the eye of some god(s) and evoke their protection. The eyeliner contained lead and/or antimony both highly toxic, can cause long-term damage to the brain and kidneys. Reminds me of the ancient Chinese 外丹 (wai4 dan1) Waidan; external alchemy (producing highly toxic ‘immortality’ potions).
