  2. Flying Phoenix Chi Kung

Sorry, didnā€™t know, I donā€™t have time to read all the posts. I tend to read only the short posts.
  3. Know thyself

Hadnā€™t heard of IFS before but this resonates. I made a conscious decision about 40 years ago to use my ā€˜internalised parents partā€™ (very capable but unpleasant) to protect and raise my ā€˜inner childā€™ (practically without capabilities at that time).
  4. Know thyself

IFS, interesting stuff https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Internal_Family_Systems_Model#:~:text=IFS posits that the mind,interests%2C memories%2C and viewpoint. @liminal_luke (my apologies if I am wrong) the noble ā€˜Managersā€™ reminded me of you.
  5. Know thyself

Iā€™m done in 6 words: I know I have a self. Obviously if youā€™re not in touch with yourself, then you can endlessly make up theories about it existing or not.
  6. Know thyself

    Thatā€™s your opinion.
  7. Help on the spiritual path

Thatā€™s what itā€™s supposed to do! Facing the anxiety is the cure. But agreed, facing it is not for the gutless.
  8. Suggestions on possible improvements to the website

JFF, my all-time favourite post: classic!
  9. Happy Lunar Year of the Dragon

    Happy new Lunar Year everyone!
  10. Flying Phoenix Chi Kung

    I think thatā€™s from Castaneda.
  11. Know thyself

Know thyself. To me it means exactly what it says on the tin - know thyself. Simple. Not easy.
  12. So why the liver? Might be a form of sympathetic magic, the liver has a dark reddish-brown colour. Think chakra colours, e.g. @Apech rage is associated with the red chakra.
  13. (Google) food that contains hydrocarbon ā€¦ certain cooked meat products such as flame-grilled burgers. Weā€™re done for.
  14. @Bindi as far as I understood Master Logray i.a. said, ā€œLiver Qi stagnation ā€¦ is closely related to emotions and stress.ā€ https://www.thedaobums.com/topic/55571-i-started-meditating-to-relax-and-i-ended-up-sobbing-with-rage-am-i-stange/?do=findComment&comment=1025424 Also Nintendao, ā€œā€¦ (肝 gān) is used like "guts" even today. To have a gut feeling, or make a gutsy move ā€¦ā€ https://www.thedaobums.com/topic/55571-i-started-meditating-to-relax-and-i-ended-up-sobbing-with-rage-am-i-stange/?do=findComment&comment=1025440
  15. Around the time of Laozi the character for liver (肝 gān) was also used as a euphemism for inner feelings (Kroll, page 127), thus ā€˜liver stagnationā€™ can refer to an emotional blockage.
  16. Why so many people with an ā€œinbornā€ defect?
  17. @Apech Is that your Jing in the glass? Better be careful no one steals it!
  18. No not strange at all. Meditation did not create the rage; it was always there but kept unaware of by keeping busy. Itā€™s hard to face the shit but who wants to stay on the run the rest of their life?
  19. am I stange? Well ā€¦ you do lack an ā€˜rā€™.
