  1. The ultimate unpopular opinions

@Apech I did take you serious and my response was serious. There are various stages in meditation. Just follow your nose (it knows the way, pun intended ) in what to do next; if that’s thinking, then thinking it is.
  2. The ultimate unpopular opinions

Yes. See the case of the man living a normal life with 90% of his brain missing. https://www.cbc.ca/radio/asithappens/as-it-happens-thursday-edition-1.3679117/scientists-research-man-missing-90-of-his-brain-who-leads-a-normal-life-1.3679125 I read about this man in a Dutch book, alas not available in English. The title says “My brain does not think. I am the one that is thinking. The picture reminds me of The Chariot, Tarot card, which probably was based on the chariot allegory by Socrates. But in the tarot card there’s no control yet, there are no reigns.
  3. Condolences for steve's loss

@steve My condolences to you and your family. Sending you love and best wishes.
  4. Yes. This imo happens all the time with translations. The meaning of a character gets changed a bit, to reflect the opinons of the translator.
  5. Yes. Some people are acting really gullible.
  6. Exactly. That's my approach as well - without proof, I call it 'belief'.
  7. I experience the metaphysical, have done for 35 years now. I also have had ‘experiences’ that turned out to be hallucinations brought forth by my own mind. I prefer to say I believe in the metaphysical.
  8. I already did. At: https://www.thedaobums.com/topic/57453-is-the-mco-real-split-from-benebell-wen-on-the-microcosmic-orbit/?do=findComment&comment=1065775 and: https://www.thedaobums.com/topic/57453-is-the-mco-real-split-from-benebell-wen-on-the-microcosmic-orbit/?do=findComment&comment=1065844 It’s all there.
  9. Nei Gong systems

道可道,非恆道 People may talk about the Dao, but it’s not the Dao that they usually practice.
  10. In your post. you are conflating to unrelated things. Of the people saying MCO is a belief system, some belief there is a metaphysical dimension, some don’t.
  11. @liminal_luke The OP asked “Is the MCO real?”
  12. Yes it’s U.K. English https://dictionary.cambridge.org/dictionary/english/modernism
  13. indeed, it’s a “belief” system
  14. there are DDJ ‘translations’ around with chapters called “quantum” this or that; totally bizarre imo. Trying to find an example, I saw Laozi inspired Bohr. https://www.researchgate.net/publication/321280738_Bohr_Quantum_Physics_and_the_Laozi
  15. The ultimate unpopular opinions

The goal of guided meditations is to get you to think, ‘who the f*ck are you to tell me what to do.’.
  16. The ultimate unpopular opinions

True, as the goal of meditation is to learn thoughts are not real.
  17. My intro post

    Hi. Welcome to the forum.
  18. Different traditions use different words: Tummo flames; Pentecostal flames. MCO; “no one can enter the kingdom of God unless they are born of water and the Spirit". (John 3:5) Picture from Wiki page ‘tummo’.
  19. logical fallacy, circular argument
  20. instant karma,

I agree. Oh I like being in agreement. Let’s put what I think you will not agree with in a blind box.
  21. The entire post reads like a load of AI crap to me.
