I think it was a big loss to the forum that Awaken had to be banned for being so rude. I did value some of her info, and also that she was from Taiwan (if I remember well). Iād hate the forum to be only Westerners. -

No, idk. But I did once read a Dutch book that argued very convincingly that Shakespeare was Flemish. And @awaken said the ancient Egyptians actually were the ancient Chinese Xia dynasty. Apparently the Egyptian river delta fits a description in an old Chinese script. I guess we all want to appropriate what we admire. -

Re. āmeaning fieldā, sorry, I mistranslated the Dutch word (betekenisveld); itās actually āāsemantic fieldā. Yes a Chinese character is an ideogram, a symbol representing an idea. Interesting that Indian languages are also quite like that.

Yes, the fundamental principle underlying this is the concept of āharmonyā. With this system there is flexibility. Exactly. For most speakers of a Germanic language (that includes English) all this is very hard to understand, as thereās no such concept in their language.

Terms get used by different people in different ways. Imo best to respect other peopleās ideas even when they go against your own ideas about āfactsā and ācheckingā. Sometimes itās best to stick to your own teacher and path, and just ignore the people that are on an entirely different path. Peace.
