  1. Jing to Qi

Thank you for the quote. The bit that follows 丹田 is also very interesting: 其疾病尪瘵者,靜躬祈福即獲祚。若不虔恪輒顛踣,故知至德之宅兆、真人之先祖也。 Google: Those who suffer from diseases and convulsions will be rewarded if they bow quietly and pray for blessings. If you are not pious, you will always go back and forth, so you know that the tomb of the most virtuous man is also the ancestor of the real man.

@ChiDragon I have great respect for your system, it was build up over 40 years of practice. Thanks for sharing it with us.
  3. I want to become powerful

    me too.

Hi Seantzu. Welcome to the forum.
  5. Current Events Discussion

In my experience, this is not true; on the contrary, truth is fragile and needs to be protected. To thrive, every system needs to set boundaries. E.g. see the demise of the Dao Bums’ spin-off site OD, it failed miserably (as did, as far as I know, the OD spin-offs by starjumper and pegasus).

    Yep.

My advice is to have no teachers and to do no energy work. Just live your own life to your own best ability. You can do it. Welcome to the forum.
  8. Oh, just looked up the profile of ‘Brian’. Yes, some people when they leave are irreplaceable. P.S. my ‘ like’ was for “they dropped out a few paragraphs back”. Yes, nobody here reads my stuff either.

Hi M. Welcome to the forum.
  10. Experiments in Weather Magic

journey’s end: knowing I’m not special at all. bliss.
  11. Experiments in Weather Magic

Most people are around the bend.
  12. Re Robert E Howard: imo it is ill advised to read the writings of a person who killed himself at age 30 , as imo suicide means the man had no useful knowledge to pass on.
  13. Hey there

    Welcome to the forum.
  14. I want to become powerful

@Mithras The last time you had a ‘like’ for a post was on 10 August 2021. Before that time your posts were getting plenty of ‘likes’. Seems people stopped understanding your posts at the beginning of August 2021. That’s why I think you may have had brain trauma around that time. I think you are intelligent. But your expression of language seems faulty (maybe ‘receptive dysphasia’). Worth seeing your GP imo. Be well.
  15. I want to become powerful

@Mithras I cannot understand what you write. I read the first post you made (10 February 2020) and that one is understandable. So I think maybe you now have an underlying medical problem (e.g. aphasia/receptive dysphasia) worth checking out. Be well.

Hi FrCassian. Welcome to the forum. I look forward to hear your perspective on the DDJ. Are you translating from characters?
  17. hi

Hi masta. Welcome to the forum. @Michael Sternbach he has now posted what help is needed https://www.thedaobums.com/topic/54175-i-suffer-from-chi-issue/?do=findComment&comment=995082
  18. Imo: Reality is hard to understand, hard to cope with. Some people find it more attractive to merely mindlessly regurgitate someone else’s words. That way no effort is required, and they can get their rocks off pontificating.
  19. imo, definitely futile imo, excellent advice
  20. @ChiDragon Sorry, I got that wrong. Kroll lists 白日 (bai2 ri4) as “white light of day, broad daylight”. Thanks for all the info. I gather that: - daytime ghosts (in the TT post) are an anomaly; normally 鬼 (gui3) appear at night only - 魂 (hun2 gui3) also ascends to the sky; so the ‘daytime’ is needed to denote 仙 (xian1) ~~~ 魄 (po4 gui3) is the descending one, or does it just disappear with the body? ~~~ 仙 (xian1) are rare. Lots of ‘normal’ people die in the ‘daytime’. So I gather 白日 refers to being able to appear in daylight (rather than ascending/leaving in daylight).
