  1. Body Focused Forms in Qigong

Dear Dao Bums, I would like to ask you: 1) What has been the most physically strengthening and stretching qigong form you've experienced? 2) Which qigong forms would you recommend solely based on the physical strengthening and stretching aspect? 3) Which qigong forms would you recommend especially for physically strengthening and stretching the whole hip & groin area, as well the low back and kidneys? I look forward to hear from you guys! All the best
  2. Dear Dao Bums, This is the post I always searched for; a no nonsense, personal description of my experiences with the Spring Forest Qigong system of Chunyi Lin. 1) First I'll give an intro as to my thoughts on Spring Forest Qigong and how it works in general. 2) Then I'll go through level 1, 2 and 3 of the system (there are 5 levels in total). 3) Thereafter I'll give a short summary of what I've covered. 4) Finally I'll conclude my post. Intro: There is an enormeous amount of qi transmission from Chunyi Lin in Spring Forest Qigong. Even though you simply follow the instructional videos online, or go to train with an assistant teacher, they're all connected to Chunyi Lin's qi. This is because a hallmark of Spring Forest Qigong is "connecting to the master's qi". Therefore, your personal individual energy system gets plugged in to the larger container of Spring Forest Qigong. Just like you pay taxes in the country you live in, and then in return you get access to education, school, health care, protection from police force and army, roads and traffic regulation etc. In Spring Forest Qigong, the "taxes" are simply practicing the system every day. In return, you get access to the qi of all Spring Forest Qigong Practitioners, Chunyi Lin, and the masters of Chunyi Lin which he's connected to (alive in China that he trained with, or simply master in spiritual form he is connected to). Therefore you can achieve good results very fast, as you plug in your energy system to a larger, shared container. Level 1 Here you learn basic standing exercises, which open your body and meridians, circulate and build your qi, as well as building your lower dan tien (the foundation for your physical strength and health, your physical vitality.) These exercises might seem basic, however, they contain everything you need to build up your vitality (jing, physical body) and energy (qi, energetic body). Level 2 Here you start to focus more on how to apply the qi you've built towards healing others; it can be people or animals. It can be through qi-massage or through qi transmission through your hands. You learn qigong exercises to increase your healing power through your hands. You also learn some qigong exercises to start to build your spiritual energy, your shen, your consciousness. This is because building this up will increase your healing power, as well as your ability to easier understand what's wrong with the patient and how to heal it. Level 3 Here you start to go more into the spiritual side of qigong. This is done through longer and deeper meditations, fasting, as well as some explanations about how the universe works. You also learn about the third eye and auras. Summary: In level one everything is covered for you to attain a strong, healthy body, good energy and a peaceful, relaxed mind. It has everything you need as an individual to take care of yourself and your health. You develop the lower dan tien. In level two you learn to share this with others through healing. You develop the lower and middle dan tien. In level three you go deeper, going into the spiritual side of qigong. This makes you stronger and more spiritual, as well as increase your healing power. Through meditation you start to develop your upper dan tien and third eye. Conclusion: This was a very short explanation of the system in general. I will provide information about level 4 as soon as I take it. Be blessed
  3. My experience with Spring Forest Qigong

This is something that should be taught by a trusted & authentic teacher. As I mentioned earlier in this thread, many people can go wrong when opening up their energetic perception. What I've generally seen in spiritual circles regarding spiritual perception can be put into 3 categories: 1) They never open up their perception, all is simply mental delusion & fantasy 2) They start to open up their perception, but they don't get the needed guidance from their master, and so their perception is mixed, some is true, some is fantasy 3) They open up their perception through their teacher's guidance, their perception gets correction from their teacher, and their perception becomes clearer & clearer the longer they cultivate. We have 5 physical senses (smelling, seeing, tasting, touching & hearing) and a 6th sense which interprets the inputs from our 5 sense (we could call it mind/knowing/understanding). Spiritually, you could similarly say that we have the exact same 6 senses: smelling, seeing, tasting, touching, hearing & knowing. How to "detect" ghosts could be using either of the 6 spiritual senses. E.g. you can feel their energy, which depending on the particular spirit could feel cold or warm. You can see them, which could be the different colors of their energy as well as their size & shape. Otherwise your 6th spiritual sense could simply "know" that something or someone is present. Just like when you're walking down the street and suddenly feel uneasy for no reason. Then you look over your shoulder and see that someone was staring at you, who then look away when you see them. You just felt something, you don't know why, but it prompted you to turn around. Similarly, this sense also exists spiritually, you just "know" something's going on. I personally always try to avoid communcating with ghosts, simply because they can so easily deceive you. How will you know if they're good or bad? They can shapeshift and pose as anything. They can say they're an angel sent from God to you, because you're the choosen one, you're so special, and they have a Divine mission for you. But in reality they're just tricksters playing you for being gullible, and will then tell you to do progressively weirder & weirder things. The more you listen, the more you let them in, the more they can affect you. You can see a perfect example of the above in Black Mirror on Netflix, latest season, the episode called "Demon 79". Of course it's a fictional show, but the principles behind spirit possesion are pretty well shown. The above is also why Danish mystic & intuitive Martinus advised people not to communicate with spirits. He lived from 1891-1980, and he had many cases of possesed people coming to him for help. Everyone of them had somehow tinkered with the spirits and got tricked. He then helped them get out of it. Similarly, you need the guidance & protection of an authentic spiritual lineage before you communicate with spirits, otherwise it's generally too risky.
  4. Getting TCM Herbs in the EU

I still haven't managed to find neither Dried Dendrobium nor Dried American Ginseng yet. However I've discovered some treasures hiding in plain sight, that you can get in every supermarket here, which are really good for the current cold seasons. Star Anise, boil them for 20-30 minutes and make a pleasant smelling & tasting tea - warms yang, expels cold, regulates qi Cardamom - boil them for 15-25 minutes and get a nice tea - transforms pleghm, dries dampness, strengthens spleen, tonifies qi Chamomile tea - we probably all know this tea, it calms shens, expels wind, clears heat, strengthens liver & moves qi Cinnamon sticks - boil and you have a fragrant tea, expels cold, warms yang, strengthens spleen & kidney, circulates qi & blood Cloves - boil and you have a nice cup of tea - expels cold & warms yang Dried tangerine Peel - dries dampness and pleghm in the middle burner, counteracts stagnation caused by too many tonifying herbs Do any of you have any suggestions for herbs that are easily available which builds kidney jing, qi & yin?
  5. Yakshini Sadhana Experiences, Dangers & Rewards

I just watched a youtube lecture from Sri Ravi Shankar (a famous indian Guru), who describes this hierarchy of beings depicted below 1 unit of energy: stone 2: water 3: fire 4: wind 5: space 6: trees 7: animals 8: normal human being 9: genius human being, extraordinary, affecting the whole world through great works 10: ancestors in spirit form 11: kinnara (political spirit, working socially & politically in the world) 12: gandharva (music spirit, brings joy to the people, but individual musician will be miserable) 13: yaksha & yakshini (wealth spirit, brings immense wealth, but the wealthy person will suffer problems with their progeny) 14: devata (devis & devas, gods & goddesses, bring happines, peace & compassion) 16: siddhas (perfected & enlightened human beings) So, from his perspective a yaksha & yakshini are just one unit below the benevolent devas. Further, people blessed by kinnaras, gandharvas & yakshas can mitigate the problem/downside caused by this being through having a guru and following a spiritual path. According to him then, it shouldn't be that dangerous to do yakshini sadhana as long as you're also on a normal spiritual path for ultimate salvation.

Thanks for your very interesting viewpoint! I'll keep that in mind
  7. My experience with Spring Forest Qigong

Hey @saxgentleman67, I am indeed sharing my true, unbiased & objective experience of SFQ. Further, I don't necessarily agree with the premise that "basic & simple forms" are inferior, cited by Cherrydao and supported by you. It's not being complex, hard, advanced & difficult to learn that gives a form its power at all, it's more dependent on the lineage qi and especially the practitioner himself. You can reach the ultimate goal of qigong through very simply means, as long as it's authentic, has lineage qi, and you sincerely and correctly put in the work daily. Which system that suits an individual is also a very important manner, as is the dynamic between you and the teacher. Something I've also seen you cite the importance of elsewhere. I agree with you. So find what works best for you Lastly, I'm in no way affiliated with Chunyi or SFQ, I live in Europe and do my own thing, which is also extremely clear if you read some of my posts.
  8. Dear friend, In this topic I'll share some of my own greatest hits, as well as the "secrets" from my different masters which have really surprised me. The things you can't find in any books and no one speaks openly about, yet can really help. Others are simply my own "take-homes" that really made a difference for me personally. Chunyi Lin Jing and longevity Most qigong alchemy, theory, books, classes, herbal medicine etc. talk a lot about the importance of Jing for a long and healthy life. It's the first step: to secure, replenish and consolidate the Jing. The lower dan tien and the Kidneys are very related to our Jing. Something Chunyi Lin has noticed in his many years of healing however, is that many sick people who died "young" (i.e. before 60) didn't necessarily have depleted Jing. This surprised him for many years, because it seemed to go against the idea that Jing is the most important for longevity. However, what he discovered through his observations was that many of the people who died "young" still had great Jing. What he then found out was that it was actually their middle dan tien that was out of order. This was mostly due to emotional blockages and unresolved emotional issues. Therefore he actually focuses on the Middle Dan Tien with many patients, which he has found out works very well. This is a shared observation with my other teacher Zhongxian Wu, who's said many times "all disease comes from the "Heart"". "Heart" here understood as our mind, our emotions and our middle dan tien. The importance of the physical body This is of coure a shared idea in daoism, namely that the health of the physical body is very important. However, the way Chunyi Lin uses this in practice is phenomenal. Someone had severe lung cancer, but didn't have that much time to practice. He simply told him to stand with his arms above his head as long as possible every day, at least for ten minutes in a row. This is because this posture physically forces open the lung channel. After two weeks of daily standing in this posture, the patient improved marvelously and noted "I can breathe so much better now!". Another example of using the physical body along with the knowledge of the importance of the middle dan tien is a women who had an undiagnosable illness. She was nauseous, losing weight, low energy, fever, bad sleep and many other symptoms. However, the doctors couldn't find any illness. She was told to stand in a posture, and meditate on her middle dan tien. After only two weeks, she was completely cured. Another example of the importance of the physical body is the "qi field" of the different organs. Everything is qi: the heat radiation from a bon fire, the fresh air near the ocean, the smell of good food, these are all coming from the qi field of the bonfire, ocean and food respectively. Therefore you can monitor the qi field of each of your 5 organ systems through your physical body! If something is going on with your tendons, it's because the qi field of the liver is affected. If something is going on with your eyes, it's because the qi field of either the Liver or Small Intestine is affected. Each day your body is communicating the state of your 5 organ systems through the qi field of each organ. Qigong is for all aspects of life In your money making, relationships, love life, family life, sex life, food, leisure time, decoration, everything is qigong. The universe is made up of qi, so qigong is the study of the whole universe. He always gives easy to follow and practical advice. To much radiation from computers and electronics in your home or office? Put more plants near the devices and keep a bowl of water in the room you stay in the most. Stressed out at work? Go into the bathroom and do a certain neck exercises with breathing and visualisation to release the negative qi from your system. Had a fight with a family member and they won't talk to you? Use hand mudras, breathing, meditation and prayer to heal the relationship. Simply move your decorations around, wear different clothes, practice facing different directions or use specific foods depending on the astrological qi of that particular year, month, day and time. Zhongxian Wu Just like I quoted above, he also often states "all disease starts in the Heart". Therefore it's actually mostly our emotions which make us sick. This should be dealth with by understanding which organ system the emotion is related to, work more on that organ (with mantras, mudras, talismans, feng shui, sleeping direction, food, colors of clothes etc) and then release that emotion. Furthermore, talismans are the most powerful qigong he's learnt in his life. I agree, one of the best things I've learnt in my life is the talisman qigong. The power of combining posture, mantra, mudra, breathing and visualisation with the talisman attracts and builds very strong qi. This qi can be used for healing, cultivation, feng shui or anything one wants. My sexual qigong teacher The saliva and sexual fluid are full of jing and qi. By keeping it under your tongue and letting it dissolve, before swallowing it into your dan tien, you can absorb it into your system, strengthen yourself as well as harmonize the yin and yang (if it's a man and a woman who's together). The genital organs have all the organ systems in them. The testicles are the "external kidneys" and the penis is connected to all of your 5 organ systems. The head is the Heart, then comes the lungs, then the spleen and liver, and finally the kidneys at the base. By stimulating these different zones in different ways, you can heal your 5 organ systems. If you grab and hold a particular zone, and stimulate it (without ejaculating!), and don't let go of your grip, you build up the energy in that organ stronger and stronger and stronger. Do it for as long as you can without ejaculating. When you let go, all the built up energy rushes from the penis into that organ system. E.g. grab it hard by the base (the Kidney area), and simply go up and down as much and as long as you can (without letting go of the grip, without ejaculating and without letting your grip go out of the Kidney zone). When you let go, you should be able to fell the qi rushing into your organs. If you're starting to catch a cold, masturbate without ejaculating 10 times that same day. The next day (or during the day) you will have healed yourself from that cold. Comparison between Chinese and Western teachers' ideas about qigong and some of my own observations Both Chunyi Lin, Zhongxian Wu and my sexual qigong teacher agree that "feeling" is very important. "Feel the exercise", "feel your body", "pay attention to the movements", "feel with your hands", "feel the tingling". This is something I didn't understand until quite recently. The reason is that each of your organs have a jing, qi and shen component. E.g. the shen of the kidneys are your sense of hearing, the sense of the liver is your sense of sight, the sense of your heart are your sense of taste, the sense of smell is your lungs and your sense of "feeling" or where you "pay attention" is the sense of your spleen. When you "listen" to something, you can energetically see (that's how I've perceived it) a blue field going from your kidneys, out through your ears and then traveling to whatever you're listening to and enveloping them/that. By "listening" to your kidneys, you put your kidney spirit back into your kidneys. This is of course extremely healing. When you're very powerful, simply by "listening" to a glass of water, a patient's heart, your kidneys, your kidney spirit heals them/that or puts healing energy into them. All systems of meditation talk of "sense control", and "turning the senses inward". I thought this was just for concentration, but with energetic vision and my teacher's explanations as well as transmission, now I can see why it's important. Furthermore, many western teachers discourage visualisation. They say it will make your practice worthless, because you'll be fantasizing about your practice and thereby ruining it. Instead you should simply feel your body and let things happen on their own accord. However, both Chunyi Lin and Zhongxian Wu say that visualisation is extremely important, and they employ it with all students from the very first day and most basic training. Conclusion Those were some of my own greatest hits. I'll put in more as I get more, as I remember more things to be shared, or in case of questions Be blessed! EDIT: addendum I wanted to share yet another interesting similarity between Vethathiri Maharishi and my sexual qigong teacher. My sexual qigong teacher taught me a certain exercise which in his words: "converts surplus semen from the hui yin into jing in the lower dan tien, energy in the middle dan tien and spirit in the upper down dan tien, as well as opening the bai hui" Vethathiri Maharishi's "Kaya Kalpa Yoga" exercises for converting (in his words): "the sexual vital fluid into spiritual energy". The exercise is identical. This is something that stunned me as I learnt it. The postures they use are different, however, the breathing technique, mantra and visualisation is close to identical. How could someone from South India teach a certain technique for conversion of sexual energy, which is completely identical to something taught in China? It was a very secret technique that can't be found in any books. Something from Chunyi Lin and Vethathiri Maharishi also resembles each other a bit, with a few differences. It's regarding how sense-impressions enter and affect our energy system. First, according to Chunyi Lin: The impression from the outside world enters our system through our senses (eyes, ears, nose, mouth or skin). Then the energy travels to the brain. Afterwards, it's journey through the body is different between men and women. For women, the energy goes from the brain into the breasts. From there it goes the female organs, namely uterus, ovaries, bladder etc. For men, the energy goes from the brain into the liver, and then down to the bottom of the torso, i.e. bladder, prostate etc. Therefore, very recent negative emotional information causes headaches and neck tension, as the energy is in the brain. This is healed through a simply neck exercise coupled with breathing and visualisation. Negative emotional information which happened some time ago would cause problems in the breasts for women and the liver for men. This is healed through postures, breathing, mantras, massage and visualisation which open the related channels. Work on the middle dan tien is used, mainly through the visualisation part. Deeply and long held negative emotional information (traumas) is stuck in the female organs for women, bladder/prostate for men. This is healed by working on the lower dan tien. Second, according to Vethathiri Maharishi: Vethathiri also states that impressions enter our system through our senses. Then it goes into the brain, and is send down through spine and the chakras, and finally lands in the root chakra (muladhara chakra). Inside the muladhara chakra is a grand archive storing ALL sense impressions ever experienced, by yourself as well as your family line. The incoming sense impression is then compared to any other similar experience in the archive. Afterwards, any similar experiences goes up through the chakras and spine into the brain. This then makes the person aware of other former experiences that could help them in dealing with and/or understanding the sense impression. The way to enlightenment according to Vethathiri Maharishi is actually by purifying the "genetic centre" inside the muladhara chakra, the grand archive. It holds all our habitual tendencies. By slowly eliminating negative habitual tendencies (thoughts, words or deeds which harm ourself or others), we purify ourselves. By slowly building positive habitual tendences (through thoughts, words and deeds which cause benefit to ourselves, and others) we strengthen ourselves. When the ratio between negative and positive habitual tendencies becomes favorable, an enlightenment experience can occur. After this experience, the practicioner is to continue the work of improving the ratio between positive and negative tendencies, as well as going into enlightenment every day. This will over time strengthen the positive habitual tendency of enlightenment, which when it reaches "critical mass" in the end can destroy all negative habitual tendencies in one single go.
  9. Spirit Guiding In Your Ear

Dear Dao Bums, I'd like to hear your experiences with "the third ear". The third eye is well known and discussed in buddhism, hinduism, sufism, daoism and many other spiritual systems. However, the third ear is not discussed as much. This post will be in 4 parts: 1) My own personal experiences 2) Personal experiences from trusted friend & family member 3) What I've heard about cultivating the third ear 4) Questions for you 1) My own personal experiences When I was a child, every night when I would go to bed, I would hear an indiscernible whisper in my right ear. I could never make out what they were saying, but it was like someone talking to me. This happened often when I was between 4 and 12 years of age. When I was about 12 years old I got scared of it. I asked my father about it, and he told me to pray to God for help. After that it stopped completely and never came back. When I was in my late twenties and on a week-long intensive qigong retreat, we did a sitting meditation where you plug your ears with your fingers. It was agonizing for the shoulders to hold your hand up for so long, we probably did it for 15-30 minutes. Just at the 28-29th minute (at least just before the teacher signaled to stop) I suddenly heard the most beautiful voices chanting what sounded like Qur'an or Dhikr (sufi mantras). At that point I had been doing sufi meditation & mantras daily quite intensely for about 1 year or so. It was mesmerizing, in no way scary, but just beautiful beyond belief. I asked my teacher about he, he just said "okay, that's good". Nothing else. Typical Chinese-style answer. About one year later I decided I wanted to try again. I recited a particular dhikr (mantra of the name of God in sufism) daily, and I thought I would continue until I heard the beautiful recitation again. After a couple of days, one evening a loud voice suddenly called out my first name in my right ear. I went into the next room where some of my family members were and said "yes?" they just looked perplexed. I said "you called me?" - "no, we didn't call you". I was surprised and said "okay, I must have heard wrong" and went to refill my tea. I went back to my dhikr, then it happened again, I heard someone say my name in my right ear. Then I realized it was a spiritual being talking to me! But then again I became scared, because I couldn't see anyone, nor feel the presence of anything. So I didn't know if it was a good or bad Being. I said some protective verses, then resumed the dhikr. Nothing happened further during that session. That night when I went to bed, it happened again, a voice spoke clearly and loudly in my ear, saying my first name. It came suddenly out of nowhere and startled and scared me, so I got up, said some protective verses from the Qur'an and went to sleep. After that I decided I wasn't yet ready for this. After I stopped the daily dhikr, it was maybe one or two times it happened again in the following days (someone called out my name in my right ear), then it stopped. 2) Personal experiences from trusted friend I have a close friend and family member who's been deep in hindu style sadhana (spiritual practice) for decades and has had 2 very close indian gurus for many decades. After returning from 1 month sadhana in India and going about his daily business, during a business meeting with a business partner, suddenly a voice in his right ear said "ask him about his little brother". After he did that, the business partner broke down in tears, because something had happened unexpectedly. This deepened their personal relation, and my friend could help console him and assist with his problem. 3) What I've heard about cultivating the third ear I've heard many things in each tradition I've studied in, so let me share a bit about each. 3.1) Sufism "sami'na wa ata'na" (line from a verse from the Qur'an called "amana rasulu" which is the last part of Surah Baqara) It means "I listen, I obey". This is alluded by Naqsbandi sufis to be a reference to a particular state of development of the soul in sufism. After you've submitted to your teacher and completed the practices given, at some point while you're in retreat, you'll be receiving instruction directly from your shaykh (guru) in your right ear as a command. Then you must do as commanded. If you complete all instructions given no matter what, you'll pass through this state and ascend to the next state. It's mostly dependent on the barakah (blessing) transmitted from the shaykh to the student, but certain dhikrs, du'a and verses can also be used for opening it. After that state, for the rest of your life, when you receive a command in your right ear, you must always complete it to the 'T' in order to maintain your spiritual station and continue your spiritual progression. The above is the sufi lineage way to do it. Another way mostly employed in Pakistan is very similar to Hinduism (as you'll see below). This method is based upon reciting a particular chapter (surah), verse (ayat) or prayer (du'a) from the Qur'an. If you complete it, you'll befriend the spiritual guardian of the verse. Particular verses can give the ability where the Muwa'kil or Angel/Guardian of that verse will speak in your right ear whenever you call upon it. 3.2) Hinduism In Hinduism receiving knowledge through your third ear is called "karna". There are different sadhanas of different beings to obtain "karna siddhi" or the power of spiritual hearing. There are tamasic (lower state), rajasic (middle state) and satvic (spiritual & purest state) beings you can pray to in order to obtain karna siddhi. Karna Pischachini is a female tamasic being you can pray to. When satisfied, she will whisper the answer to your questions in your ear whenever you call her. People mostly use it to make money and get respect. For example as astrologers, palmists etc. They might not know anything at all, but when you arrive at their stall, they blurt out secret and personal details no one knows about you (all given by karna pischachini). That'll get the people to trust that person, and then after that they charge you money, yet might give you completely gibberish advice. Otherwise, the karna pischachini will actually give sound advice to the people. The downside with a tamasic being is that you have to do despicable acts to satisfy them (e.g. eat and or drink your own urine and feces, have intercourse with corpses, avoid shower for a certain period, all kinds of weird and disgusting acts). Furthermore, for the rest of your life you also have to serve the karna pischachini, and some even say your soul will be her slave after you die for hundreds of years as a karma for doing this kind of black magic. Karna Matangi is a mahavidya or great goddes and therefore a satvic being. If you worship her succesfully, she'll appear when called and answer your questions about the past, present and/or future of any being. 3.3) Daoism A lot of my own experience came from daoist qigong, when I was doing sitting meditation and plugging the ears. What I've heard from daoism is the jing, qi & shen idea, and each of our 5 organs have a jing, qi & shen component. For example vision is the spirit of the liver, hearing is the spirit of the kidney, taste of the heart, feeling of spleen & smelling of the lungs. Therefore when your shen of that spirit is cultivated to a high level, you also get spiritual vision/hearing/smelling etc. Other than that I've read about speaking mantras on a bowl of water, then listening to it with your right ear, and then a spirit will answer your questions. 4) Questions for you 4.1) What are your experiences with the third ear? 4.2) What experiences have your heard about from others? 4.3) Do you know of any methods of spiritual practice which opens the third ear? 4.4) Have you heard about the uses of third ear? (e.g. as fortune teller, palmist, astrologer, for your own cultivation etc) All the best!
  10. Spirit Guiding In Your Ear

@Chang dao ling Thanks for sharing your experiences! I think it's very fascinating with this whole spiritual "hieararchy of beings" from devata, through gandharva, apsara, yakshini, naga to human being, and then of course the lower spiritual beings of bhuta, preta, pischacha etc. I have heard that the higher the being the harder it is to establish contact with them and actually get help (e.g. with a devata), whereas for example apsara & yakshini are much faster and easier (however there could be some downsides), and of course bhutas, pretas & pisachinis are the easiest but have extreme downsides.
  11. Ancestor Worship (Pitru Paksha)

@EFreethought Yes, it's very widespread in both Native American traditions, african shamanistic and animist traditions, and of course in Hinduisn & Daoism. So pretty much all over the world Right now I feel good about having "completed" this Pitru Paksha, and am more focused on my own spiritual practice. But maybe in future holidays, or if I get some kind of "signal" from nature again that this could be helpful.
  12. Dear Dao Bums, Here's my experience with the Simplified Kundalini Yoga by Vethathiri Maharishi. I'll describe my experience in 4 parts: 1) Overview of the system 2) My personal experience 3) Summary 4) Conclusion Overview of the system: Simplified Kundalini Yoga is the creation of Vethathiri Maharishi. It includes the following: a) transfer of energy from the master through touch, through the eyes and through the mind to open the chakras of the students (sparsa diksha, chakshu diksha and manodiksha) b ) meditation (on the chakras as they're opened progressively, the stars and planets, the 5 elements, the senses and finally the universal energy field and the universal absolute space) c) tratak or gazing meditation (on a ghee lit earthen clay lamp and later on a mirror) d) simplified physical yoga postures (asanas) and breathing exercises (pranayama) e) transmutation of the sexual vital fluid through simplified kaya kalpa yoga (breathing and postures) f) introspection and refinement of character (analysis of thoughts, moralization of desires, neutralization of anger, eradication of worries, self-realization, sex and spirituality, and finally how to achieve harmony in the family, workplace and in all relationships) My personal experiences This is the best spiritual system I've ever tried. I've tried everything under the sun: mantra meditation, pranayama, tibetan and buddhist tsa-lung and meditation, dream and sleep yoga, physical yoga exercises, sexual qigong, qigong meditation, standing meditation, sufi mantras and meditation, rituals (praying, fasting, giving food and charity), pilgrimages to holy places, vedanta, jnana/gyana yoga, psychological self development, sexual transmutation, semen retention, daoist lovemaking, gazing on the sun, moon and stars and much much more. However, SKY still rules supreme as to the simplicity, power, effectiveness and practicality in all aspects. From the very first day, from my initiation into the system (where your lifeforce is transferred from the root/muladhara chakra to the brow/agya chakra) my life was never the same. That very first evening when I meditated after returning home from the initation, I had the deepest meditation of my life. My mind became still and peaceful, no thoughts or emotions, just pure and deep peace. After the meditation I was extremely energized and full of power. Furthermore, my sleep became the best it's ever been (and I've had life long issues with sleep). Every single initiation (brow chakra, root chakra, crown chakra, the universal energy state, lamp gazing) keeps surprising me as to its power. It just works. It's easy and simple, yet profoundly powerful. Summary SKY has been the best I've ever tried, and it keeps improving with every initiation. Furthermore, it's a complete system. It has everything you need: physical, breathing, psychological and energetic exercises, improvement of character, meditation and transmutation of the sexual vital fluid. Conclusion If you're into meditation, definitively check SKY out. It has changed my life. When I went to the first initiation, several seasoned meditators who've been meditating deeply and going on retreat yearly for the past 20+ years were also surprised at its power. They thought it sounded too easy... Yet it worked SO! Check it out Be blessed

  17. Body Focused Forms in Qigong

Hey Michael, Thanks for your suggestion! I've been test-driving the forms the past couple of days... It's really great stuff! Just from a few days I would already rank them in my personal "greatest hits" for physical forms
  18. My experience with Spring Forest Qigong

Hey @Learner, Chunyi Lin states that ADHD is because the brain and the Heart doesn't communicate. So you draw a talisman 9 times on the bai hui (heavenly gate or crown) to help the brain come into balance so it can communicate with the heart. I tried it on myself, my girlfriend and a few people I healed, and everyone became much calmer and in a more harmonious mood. I think it was in his lvl 4 he shared it. I haven't had the chance to try it on an actual ADHD person. But in general I feel the best approach in healing is to "help the person to help themselves". Otherwise the patient is simply a help-less victim in a perpetually dependent relationship with something outside themselves (the healer) forever costing them money and time, putting a band-aid on their wound, but never helping them cut out the root-cause of their suffering (themselves and their self-created karma through thoughts-words-deeds in this and previous lifetimes). So educate the person in qigong, meditation, herbs, life style etc, and give them "qi boosts" every now and then to quicken their path to self-healing, that's my own personal philosophy Otherwise they spend money and time, the healer spends energy and time, yet the patient just goes and gets sick again because of the same habitual patterns that brought them to the healer, it's a never ending cycle. I've seen that happen many times in all my years of meditation, qigong, healing and going to see many great healers. Seeing this pattern again and again with so many "great healers's" followers, that's why I formed the above mentioned personal philosophy that you should help them to help themselves. Empower them into autonomy, don't make them helpless dependents.
  19. Jasper Lake Maoshan (Jason Read Daoist Magic)

Hey @Taomeow, thanks for chiming in and sharing your thoughts, I appreciate that Could you share some of your insights and experiences using his "offerings"? And which book of his was it? I look forward to hear from you! All the best
  20. Jasper Lake Maoshan (Jason Read Daoist Magic)

Dear Dao Bums, In the past couple of days I've continued my research. I've now read 2 out of 3 of his books (Practical Chinese Magic and Thunder Magic), as well as watched 3 out 4 interviews on YouTube with him. I must say I'm now fairly convinced that he's legit. I would still love to hear from you guys if you've had any experiences with him and his teachings.
  21. Sakya Trichen Rinpoche Longevity Practice

Hi @Creation, thanks for your positive and informative message! It's very helpful and insightful, thanks for sharing Now I'm even more excited to try it out I've watched some videos on youtube in the past couple of days with the Dalai Lama and also some with Sakya Trichen Rinpoche where they talk about White Tara practice, and I must say I'm very impressed! I feel really good and positive energy from them, clarity, knowledge, compassion and much more.
  22. Dear Dao Bums, Sakya Trichen Rinpoche is coming to Europe this June, and I'm considering meeting him. During his visit he will be giving an empowerment or initiation into a tantric buddhist practice. It's called "Indestructible Wakefulness" or "Chimé Pagme Nyingtik". I tried to look up online what it's about, and it's a White Tara longevity practice. I've long wanted to practice and experience Tibetan Buddhism in a more profound way (my only prior experience is basic level tummo, karmamudra and lucid dreaming using a mix of buddhist and bön dream yoga). Do we have any long term practitioners of Tibetan Buddhism who can weigh in with some experiences and comments: 1) Any insights, experiences or comments about the Sakya lineage? 2) Any insights, experiences or comments about Sakya Trichen Rinpoche? 3) Any insights, experiences or comments about White Tara Practice? (in general or this specific pratice), 4) What can I expect from this one-day empowerment? (experiences appreciated)
  23. Sakya Trichen Rinpoche Longevity Practice

Hey @SirPalomides, Thanks for your response! Yes, I think you're right, that makes sense. I found the "entire cycle" of practice available online from another tibetan lineage yesterday, when I was searching the web for more on White Tara & Sakya Trichen Rinpoche. It included all preliminary, generation and completion stage practices, as well as some higher practices, all with empowerments etc along the way (it's a video course consisting of recordings from a year long course they did online during Corona). Thanks for sharing your knowledge and experience I'm very interested in health, healing and longevity, so I'm leaning more and more towards going to the event/empowerment to try it out as a daily practice for some time.
  24. Money Magic

In Hinduism, there are 4 goals of life (Purushartha): 1) Artha (material wealth and security), 2) Kama (pleasure and enjoyment of life), 3) Dharma (following duty and religion, right conduct), 4) Moksha (spiritual liberation and salvation). I've always mostly been interested in dharma and moksha, so my spiritual search in sufism, hinduism, buddhism, daoism etc, in the areas of qigong, meditation, rituals etc, have always been in these two areas. Lately I'm feeling quite contented with my spiritual life. This has brought me a curiousity about how these traditions can also be used for upgrading the artha and kama side of life. What are your experiences and greatest hits with using spiritual traditions for upgrading kama and artha? Personally these are some of the things I've tried, which I felt worked: Kama: 1) Dan Rose "Sex God Method" or the "DEVI method" - this book blew my mind, upset me, broke my innocent view of women and sex, yet changed my sex life forever (for the better). 2) Daoist Sexual Qigong (a combination of postures, massage, breathholding and meditation, including genital weight lifting and swinging weights). 3) Daoist Lovemaking (using all of your body along with the art of feeling, knowledge of meridians and qi, as well as stages of arousal and different types of orgasms, to upgrade your lovemaking experience). Artha: 1) I've done a 41 day sufi ritual consisting of daily tasbih (reciting names of God) as well as salawaat (prayers for the prophet). On the 39th day, I got a call out of nowhere, inviting me to a one month job, which gave me 5 months of salary. At that point, I had been un-employed for 1.5 years, my savings were nearing 0, that's why I got so desperate that I decided to try a money ritual. 2) For several years, at every full moon I've done a money mantra from Vethathiri Maharishi. It was given to him by a yogi in astral form, when he had lost his business and had suddenly become very poor. He was great in meditation and spirituality, and had used his business to serve his community. They survived of his wife selling food she made in the streets. After he started this mantra, they built up the "World Community Service Center" and he became a famous Guru, respected by scientists, researchers, poets, celebrities and politicians. He's even on stamps, and his programs are in schools and universities. For me personally, I feel an energy building in my system when I do the mantra. I can't say for sure which results it has given me, but I do feel energy from it. 3) When I did a 41 Ganapati Tarpana (water ritual to the hindu elephant God), on the 39th day, I was called by my aunt, asking if I could tutor her girl friend's daughter in French. It was a few hundred bucks, very easy, 5-6 weeks in a row. On the 44th day of the ritual (I continued it for 3 more days), I got a call from the last place I worked, asking if I could come back for another 6 month project. 4) When I did 41 day Ganapati Yantra Puja, from the 38th day I started receiving inspiration on how to write a book and sell it using social media. Something I never thought of before! I'm still working on this project I can see that selling products online to the English speaking global market has unsurpassed potential for moneymaking, compared to simply working at a 9 to 5 job. Questions for you: What are your experiences and/or greatest hits with using spiritual traditions for upgrading kama and artha? God bless you!
