  1. I don't mean this disrespectfully to you @Creation but the amount of utter delusion and whatnot he is talking in that video, points to an extremely sick young man. And psychopathology is one thing I do have a bit of knowledge of I dont know what kind of "attainment" people think this individual has, but all I see is an incredibly sick person that a very sick society seeks to reframe their experiences through and reinforce his own distortions. Rather sad Meditative practice isn't always the right thing for people, and definitely not for someone who's that ill.
  2. I didnt know what it was but within about 12 seconds of listening to him it was very clear something was very, very wrong He's clearly ill and medicated. You can see it in his eyes and mannerisms Disappointing that people are entertaining this tbh, rather sad
  3. I think someone blocking EVERYONE who disagrees with them is a sign that they are rather stubborn and hopeless, but hey that's just my opinion A recipe for that crow liver and rabbit marrow stew would be a great start
  4. https://www.youtube.com/@frankyang/videos http://kennethfolkdharma.com/2017/07/1610/ These two? Is this some kind of joke? The more I listen to these types, the more I realize that this is why I rarely if ever talk about Buddhism (Recall our chat @Wilhelm?) The type of folks speaking in this way aren't highly accomplished practitioners, they are deluded. My gut instinct is that the young man in the YouTube videos is clearly medicated to a high degree also
  5. I agree it is either there or it isn't Things like imagining stuff above your head. ( https://www.bambooshamen.org/home/zen-master-hakuin-the-soft-butter-method) I mean that's just lying to yourself and pretending there's something there that isn't Right?
  6. Cessation experience and "Cessation without return" are a universe apart though The former is a common phenomena, the Latter , Anupaada Nirodha (forgive my spelling) is the end of the path as far as I understand it I image just like so many others, he has lowered the bar as many times as a game of limbo
  7. Yes! Lazy people!! False masters! You will only be more confused and decieved! You need Lambs liver and beef marrow No wait. Chicken liver and duck marrow Dammit, that's not it either Crows liver and hares marrow. That's it Only then you'll be a real person! (Anyone got any recipes for crows?)
  8. Aside from this guy Who exactly is walking around in the West claiming to be an Arhat? And what has it got to do with Burma?
  9. Well you know yourself, people normally lower the bar for jhana and then pretend they've reached it or have been through them or whatever
  10. This is a rather profound insight, and one that bears careful consideration. Someone demonstrating something with qi or whatever else is a benchmark most people take as a sign they have something worth pursuing In my opinion it is not. And I've been gripped by that stuff (and more) too in the past. The reason why is people just don't know how many ways this can not only be faked, but more importantly, be done via other means, means that are not related to real internal transformation. Sometimes these people don't even have the attainment they think they do, and they don't know or realize it themselves.

Sadly, you haven't proven anything at all, except for the fact that you are rather confused The DIY psychology is rather uncalled for. If you want to talk facts, talk facts. Theres an abundance of evidence here If you change the structure of the brain the mind will be affected to a degree. If they were separate, this would not happen If you change the mind, the brain can be affected also (its called neuroplasticity) and and the changes occur at the structural, functional and hormonal level. If they were separate things , this would not happen So you can change the brain via the mind and the mind via the brain. the latter is actually the more complex (though it sounds simpler) We don't even need to move past the very limited juvenile materialistic framework to deduce these things, they are clearly observable and have been repeatedly
  12. SoTG lineage

For me it would be dependence that raises serious flags. Transmissions, Treatments, whatever you want to call them If your practice cannot do something like reconsolidate the field, open a channel or clear a blockage by itself, personally Id be asking myself some serious questions about the efficacy of it Don't get me wrong, I understand there's a teacher needed to assist at certain levels. But there is a fair portion you can do yourself with just guidance and direction.
  13. Tien Shan Qigong

Without getting into too much detail He's going through a lot of stuff right now. Id not like to be in his shoes But I would reiterate my point, elsewhere is better
  14. Mind Body cultivation

I agree that we struggle with this hard wired notion. Isn't it the point of cultivation to move beyond that? But recall that this obsession with material nature is a rather new phenomenon. I believe the ancients had a far larger focus on the inner world and spiritual one than we do. Moreover the most revered men of these days made an effort to steer people in that direction to a degree Now from what Ive seen, they know this to be the case. The CIA did in fact stumble upon some material that brought them to certain conclusions. Not all 100% accurate, but some of it was. I see this in academia too, there is an interesting account of how Mario Beauregard was treated, quite shocking stuff Have a listen his account is rather telling

Where is the Hun and Po in nature? Can you show them to me please?Take a picture and post it
  16. Mind Body cultivation

So let me get this straight. Wuwei come from the DDJ Laotze was the originator of said text (apparently) Do you think he came up with it from internal insight or external observation? You think he was the smartest person that ever lived? Hows Daoism doing as a belief system/religion/worldview or whatever label you'd like to use (I dont think its any of those, but anyway)
  17. Interview with Adam Mizner

I don't practice Mahayana, so thats not what I was making a reference to I do the Daoist stuff and a few less known about Theravada practices. I dont have a whole heap of information on the latter as per now, so it would be premature of me to say much in that regard. But that is the answer I was given regards aims Both are tantric methods per se though I also was not referring to Jhana regards building qi. I was referring to a tantric method again
  18. Mind Body cultivation

Just a comment on the bold, given my field is tied to that It has become very apparent to me that there is a clear vested interest in keeping people invested in the belief that the brain produces consciousness. If you start to unravel that thread, a whole network of disciplines and markets fall apart There is much to be lost for those who have sunk so much into this, and that's just the tip of the iceberg in my opinion. I don't think any of them want the key to consciousness to be outed. This is because it is outside the realm of scientific investigation insofar as to to get to the root of it, you must detach from the sense faculties, but the entirety of the scientific body of knowledge was founded on observations through the sense faculties. So certain shifts are needed There are those who will always work to try their best, like the very fine names you mentioned, however what credence are they given? It is far too easy to brush good information aside when you paint an image of it that makes it appear as nonsense Kind of like covering a gold bar in dog crap, so nobody sees it
  19. Mind Body cultivation

I say this respectfully, and not aimed at anyone, but is this not what happens when this sort of hybrid of secular scientism has sunk its teeth in deep at the societal level? People ignore the internal, the metaphysical and the spiritual because they've been led to believe it is nothing more than imagination
  20. Which of these systems is good to start?

Im just disappointed theres no full lotus and pineal flexing Though Chunyi Lin does have a video shout out somewhere
  21. Mind Body cultivation

I know you dont But ask a few questions and maybe you will Hold on a moment The mental training creates somatic sensations, and I work with these sensations too Nothing is as simple and straightforward as you think my friend Do you? I know what you are trying to say But like I said, try to get angry and see if you can do so without it affecting your body
  22. Greetings fellow bums

Welcome Gekko Sorry to hear you've been around the block quite a bit. I think it happens a lot of people https://damomitchell.com/ This should get you on the right track to actually getting somewhere, without doing practices you arent getting results from or having to depend on someone or something as a crutch Damo will take you through the Yijinjing process. As far as I can tell, he's about the only person teaching this publicly in this way Feel free to ask questions, happy to respond
  23. Mind Body cultivation

I do it in three ways I work with the body to affect the mind by using Yi Jing Jing principles, which are grounded in somatic experiences I use non contrived breathing practices to manage the bridge between body and mind I use mental training and certain training of other aspects or qualities (like gratitute) All of this works in tandem to transform the mind But mostly, the body is the access point
