If you referring to how I objectively verified my practice? Lets take Qi building. I had some developments that I wanted to see if they were imaginary or not. My teachers were away So I took a few people, blinded them, made sure they didnt speak to each other and then attempted some stuff in a controlled setting. I even counterbalanced it to improve the validity. Results shocked me just as much as them. Hopefully that answer your question, because thats all im willing to detail of the matter I would never have to take my teachers words for it I was able to replicate certain phenomena myself, without their presence Where did I mention the word gifted?

Theres plenty of scams, sure. You could say I was lucky, I had advice from people who'd already been down the road of dead ends However, my main teacher teaches me for free. I choose to give whatever I can, whenever. Since I left my career, not 1 penny has left my pocket, and nothing has changed The other two , charges me about the cost of a decent resturant meal for 1 per month (each) There are plenty of secrets, still, though none of them cost me any great degree of money to learn. They did however, take a lot of effort to come to an experiential understanding of them, and to be able to verifiy their accuracy in a controlled, objective manner to myself (and a few select others) That being said - Id gladly have parted with 50k to have learned some of the things ive learned over the years (though I didnt have to). That list was a quick guide of specific things that keep coming up over and over again in my own experience And If im really being honest This is where the vast majority are culled, because not every teacher wants money, but almost every teacher ive come across expects this

I dont think what I am talking about has anything to do with healing specifically. Its just useful for it Its related to contacting Congenital Shen. The reunification of the fragmented spirits begins to alter the sense faculties bidirectionally Inward focus with the senses is not what I was talking about specifically. I was talking about energetic reversal, of which inward focus is simply a pre-requisite Regards Jhannic traditions (As per Beth), the best explanation ive seen of it is here As mentioned above, you generally work where your conciousness resides. This, in our current time is more true than ever, given the macrocosmic forces acting upon the distance between form and formlessness I would not be easily convinced that there is a method to bypass withdrawl and reversal of the senses (be it perceptual as you mentioned about Beth, or energetically as I was discussing) As far as I know, this is a non negotiable in terms of contacting congenital spirit, and opening the mysterious pass (which is one of the reason siddhi begin to arise) Id be open to hearing what you have to say about how one could go about that, if you'd care to get into it But every tradition I know of requires withdrawl and what freeform mentioned was practically verbatim how its been explained to me by three different teachers

Id prefer not to get into it in too much depth to be perfectly honest Tell me what it is you'd like to know, ill let you know if its something I can discuss

I dont think any tradtion bypasses the senses, but they do reverse them The manifestations a rent something thats aimed for, its just a sign that the practice is working as it should, thats all. (Im getting tired of repeating this) In Daoism these things start happening around the stage of "entering the white room" where the spirits of the five senses reverse and reconverge as one The point at which they do so is clearly marked on the Xiuzhen Tu This is a sign you've touched upon the congenital Its unsurprising to me that what your teachers teacher claimed and what I am saying is a product of correct practice seem to line up

Stable visual perception of the immaterial without any drastic change in material vision? It would be against how im taught If it is stable transformation then my understanding is that the transformation will take place internally and externally An experience of? Yes of course. That would be expected, and in many cases it may be an experience that conciousness might begin to reorient itself based upon One of the reasons for the objective testing (whatever the test is) is to prove this isnt something merely imagined. One can say they have developed the divine eye, but like I mentioned, if thats true, seeing through a wall would be a simple task But peception isnt limited to the visual sense either as you know. So id clear up that I'm talking about the visual gate here

Thats just to see if the ability is developed to a certain extent really, Seeing through matter would be more useful for other purposes. One would be healing and diagnostics. The other (more important and practice related) would be related to perception of finer and finer layers of reality
-
Pretty standard development and an important skill in most schools to be honest. There are levels to this kind of ability Depending on how developed one is you would generally get things like the below (in no specific order) The ability to see into the internal space, and to view the channel system (of yourself and others) The ability to see through matter To be able to see into the other realms To be able to see ghosts etc, and things like auras At very high levels, one could start to see into the mental realm and even further back, the causal. The very last one would be where someone could probably tell you when you are going to pass from this life just by having a good look at you. This is rarer than the rest though Nonetheless, important to realise something. As far as "insight" goes. If someone claiming such a thing dont have these developments, then they do not have as much "insight" as they might like to think to be perfectly honest

The money in that case was less a fee and more of a test of whether or not you were financially sound. The ability to drop 50k on a whim would mean you'd be more than able to sustain yourself for long periods without work Of course, that was only one of these things, there were others too. You wouldnt just show up with a pile of money. In fact, you'd be lucky to get that far Eh ive discussed some of these things before. Qi emission and things would be standard. When you start to see people emitting light from their body it gets a bit weirder (this isnt the same person mentioned above, just an indication of some of the "weird") When people start to move to being able to affect the level of shen and the causal body, you really do get into bizarre things In fact, just being in the presence of people like that would cause massive shifts in you. Theres a few teachers who do something similar a step down at the Qi level (its a bit less dramatic) They extend the Yin field outward to influence the students, set up a series of conditions in their own body, and then via the influence of the Yin field, they reorganize the internal workings of the students There is no system of training that is authentic, in my opinion, where some form of ability isnt developed, Moreover, it should be objectively verifiable Obviously the easiest to inspect are things like Fajin, Fa Qi etc Even the ones in buddhist systems. Ive heard people go on about gaining the Divine Eye etc. If thats the case, one should have no problem seeing through a wall. This is actually a test used to check certain levels of vision being developed Theres a similar one used to see if you are able to leave your body Its all very scientific and objective to be totally honest.
-
Im not fully in agreement with that, but I understand thats been your experience My experience is these things arent as rare as you claim, however, getting access to them is very rare, and normally requires amongst other things A solid foundation in internal work prior to even approaching a senior (not a teacher) The ability to pass several tests, some of which are internal, others of which are character The exchage of large sums of money initially (ive personally had figues in excess of 50k quoted to me) The will to waste a lot of time hitting dead ends Should any of the above be missing from the equation, it wouldnt surprise me if you hit dead end after dead end
-
That quality mentioned above is whats known as "steel wrapped in cotton" Its what you often see in the Shaolin Monks tbh. Its a byproduct of proper Yijinjing training, and a very good sign While i dont want to get too specfic, I have had developments and results that are in line with correct Yijinjing training
-
Id like to know how this occured You'd need to provide a decent argument the issue was with the school and not the person to be honest Ive met all manner of people, from those who have developed abilties, to those who have pursued dead ends, and to those who have found legitimate practices and not bothered to put in the hard work Its rarely as cut and dry as people paint it FYI, im not familiar with the school, I wasnt on TDB a decade ago, so ive no idea what you are talking about. Im more referring to a general observation
-
I am not talking about any kind of technique I am talking about physical changes in the human body. They are a sign that change has/is occuring somewhere further back The most famous one would be a physical, palpable lower dan tien, along with the usual ability to issue qi. Its nothing spectacular, just a byproduct of proper Yijinjing training
-
I was just joking I share the belief that evidence is useful From what ive enocuntered, anyone with abilties, tends to be hush about them. Its usually behind closed doors only. There are exceptions to that rule. But historically, its never ended well for them Ive spoken about this ad nauseum lately, but if a practice is truly working to transform ones nature, it should anchor into the physical body. If it doesnt, then its not legitimate in my opinion At the very least, a teacher should be able to demonstrate some of these signs. Though some of the stuff ive come across is far weirder. Id stick with the physical and tangible Id be adamant that the best practices are the ones which prove themselves. In fact, id go as far as to argue thats the only absolute proof you'll get Seeing someone demonstrate something even under the most rigorous of conditions still does not guarantee that the things they are claiming developed these things is what they will share, or that theres not some other variable thats been concealed At some point, one has to take a gamble. It might pay off, then again you could be left empty handed

What is the dan in neidan and dan tian? 丹
Shadow_self replied to forestofclarity's topic in Daoist Discussion
Honestly @Antares, what purpose does asking a person you already know has no experience of neidae/weidan how to interpret something thats all rather esoteric and not taught openly? Do you understand you are probing a materialist ? All this will do is further the repitition of the same misunderstandings, and take this thread further away from discussing what these things are -
Unfortunately there is, ill explain below Thats an entirely different discussion You are actually blending expectation and desire together here. But you are not alone in this. People routinely use the word expectations with desire inherently attached to it I will use dictionary definitions to make it easier So one has to to with a belief that an outcome may occur. The other has to do with wanting a specific outcome to occur Heres a second example Expectation = I believe it may be sunny weather tomorrow Desire= I really want it to be sunny tomorrow. Ill be disappointed if it is not The former is not the problem, the latter is where the issues occur

I think you can replace difficult with impossible to be honest -
Permission to access current events please? One of the threads I was active in seems to have been moved there Thank you
-
Not quite Expectation does not stir and scatter JIng the way Desire does I expect to wake up tomorrow. I have no burning desire to, to be perfectly honest You have confused expecting an outcome vs the desire for one, Without the desire for the expected outcome. There is no frustration
-
[edited by Mod] No desire = No urges = No problem Vs Desire plus frustration and a lack of release. This is the difference between tackling a symptom vs tackling a cause

What is the dan in neidan and dan tian? 丹

No, your mind is located elswhere No the middle dan tien is located with the heart. This is actually where the mind is I think you'll find they understood perfectly well Its my opinion (and several others on this board seem to share this view) that you seem to be the one struggling with all of this -

Nimitta will arise, depending on the practice. The always come about of their own volition. You are never told what they are, as thay would prime you The more esoteric practices involve the manipulation of certain nimitta. Depends. Marial arts involve people for example. This would need to be more specific im afraid Yes, there are specific places one can practice to amplify the effects, for example, in a graveyard, forests, near water, on certain areas where there are dragon lines Ive tapped precognition quite a few times, and seen/spoken/communicated with the deceased yes But I dont take guidance from anybody other than my teachers though. Rule #1 is never trust spirits. Its a long discussion as to why Virtue is supposed to arise as a result of practice. I tend to have had this experience yes Would rather not say too much about these two im afraid I try to be as open as I can, but i dont think it will benefit you (see below) Sure no problem There you are Ive tried my best to answer. I think if I answer those last two I may prime you in a way that might cause you to use your own imagination however, so thats why i tend to not say much. It would be best if you experienced those for yourself when the time arises -

Very sure. Definately not Mental processes? Be more specific as to what you are asking please What are you seeking here, instruction? Calm abilding and Non governance are some key qualties here if thats what you are asking The mind is pulled into the LDT via the strength of the field itself. Theres no real mental "doing" involved for me really Its where my focal point of awareness just goes Energetic sensations are troublesome. By the time you touch the non physical aspects of qi, the sensation would be confusing I have learned neigong/neidan from two, and another less public buddhist practice from another Sorry but your style of posting is a little confusing for me. Could you perhaps just elaborate on what you want to discuss and I can try to focus on that
