Tested him? Be more specific. What kind of testing he do? Have you ever met Max? Did your friend tell you Max was trying to make it so that he was the next Jesus Christ?
-
Again, what differentiates the legitimacy of his practices and the man himself if you think Max is a liar and a fraud? If you think he and his students are all faking it in that video, what he teaches about the practices and their potential is also a lie. I don't have any ideas or strong opinions about what Max can do or can't do. That's never the emphasis of anything he teaches. Nor is it any of my main concerns. Max is very very down to earth when you meet him and if you listen enough you'll get the idea that he really really doesn't want to be in the position of a guru or a teacher. He says that in most (I have listened to four seminars) seminars. IMO your approaching this entire issue with a different mindset than I am. You are judging Max as some teacher, because that is what you are looking for. I'm just defending him as a very respectable human being I know who has good intentions for others, who you have chosen to insult without much basis. I am very grateful to him for his willingness to share as much as he has. If you have done the practices and have opened your body enough, you truly realize how difficult it is to offer such practices to the world. I only mentioned the studies because you asked whether he had the "balls" to do them. Of course I don't have the documents. That's just a huge waste of time and effort on my part to go dig them out. Why? Because if you do the practices and do as he advises you'll see that 90% of it is true, it works, and if you have practiced enough you feel that his energy is real and powerful. So the probability that the rest of what he has shared is as honest and sound is more likely than not. I've done this practice for three years now on and off with my share of skepticism, and it's incredible. I'm blown away every time because of the benefits to my health and well being. And not once did I have Max somehow intrude in order to sell more snake oil. This is how you build trust in another person so that you don't have to go check everything he has said. And to re-emphasize this point, Max doesn't demand anything form his students, in fact he told us that it's really unnecessary to see him but once to just learn the techniques. If you are interested in tangible documentation Max will show you some x-rays of his heart and the brain and tell you some stories. I don't think Max photoshops fake x-rays to impress students. Why the hell would he do that? To make money? He does two seminars a month on weekend trips. It's 300 dollars for nearly three whole days of practice for less than ten people. Yeah, great profit there. If Max was in it for the money or a following he could've easily set up a whole school with a hierarchy of followers and membership fees and bunch of Kunlun accessories, especially since the practice is a bliss practice and produces immediate results. But what does he do now? He teaches here and there from his home, maybe once or twice a month. I like that. He just wants you to learn the techniques and develop yourself. That's very genuine.

Your damn right it's all conjecture. That was the point of my response to More Pie Guy, because him calling Max a fraud was a complete speculation.
-
Did Max do a demo on your friend? Or did he just attend his seminar. Because Max has said he never does demo on people not exposed to Kunlun energy. Moreover since you don't trust masters who have not gone through scientific documentation, I guess you should also dismiss John Chang. John Chang never went through a specific scientific evaluation. People just went to see him with a camera. And they tried to document yin and yang chi without much success. Didn't you read what I posted above? Max did go through scientific trials in Arizona and as a medic in the military. So did some of his students, one of whom was found to have her blood flowing irregularly plus other abnormal phenomena. Also the movie wasn't Max's project. It was Chris's. And it never got finished or was sold for money. Also if you don't trust the people of the taobums community for their experience and contributions, what is your motive here? Tell people who you think is a fraud because they look like one? All your line of reasoning is the real bullshit here. You're just trying to justify an ignorant comment you made.
-
I don't think you are getting the point of my engagement here. I'm not here to debate with you whether or not Max is the real deal. That discussion's been done with even before you joined the forum. I'm more concerned with you declaring he is a fraud along with his students, that they are illegitimate or deceptive with no evidence but bunch of speculation and just one testimony from a friend who got no juice from meeting him at a seminar. So I guess the ones who actually met him and acknowledge at least that he isn't an out right fraud are all deluded or not as insightful as your friend, including me, scotty, -0-, winpro, taomeow, cat, camron, yoda, trunk, de-paradis, fiveelementtao, August Leo, and Jenny Lamb, on and on. I was genuinely interested in why you thought Max was illegitimate. Turns out, as it has again and again with people who criticize him, you are just talking out of your ass. I just wanted to make this clear in case someone takes what you say with any seriousness. As for the lightening, glowing hands, disappearing bodies stuff, that's really all just a sideshow, and absolutely unimportant, and really trivial compared to what he shares in person.
-
And what exactly is the difference? If you think his abilities do not measure up to the goals his practices he says will let you attain, you are basically calling him a liar. Also, if you think the demonstrations in the video are fake, you are insinuating that not only is Max in on the lie, but his students and other Kunlun participants as well. That's a subtle but also a major accusation you are laying out. He has. So have some of his students. His body has been examined by military personnel. He'll tell you more about this in more private settings, but my feeling was he didn't want such information to be the main focus of what he is trying to do. Look be skeptical, fine, but your basic approach was, "Max is a fraud, he isn't legitimate." And I asked you why, and you couldn't name any reasonable doubt except that his video looked fake and your friend didn't feel a thing. Those aren't good enough reasons to be coming on here and pretending like you really know what you are saying about another person.
-
It's also worth noting that Kunlun is often used in East Asian proverbs and idioms synonymous with the meaning "ancient."
-
Okay...so the only reason you think he is a fraud is because you think it looks fake. I just want to make this clear. You have never met him, studied anything he has taught, have no teacher of him testifying that he is a fraud, no student saying he is a fraud. In fact, I'd say the opposite. Max has been praised by advanced practitioners on this forum including, cat, taomeow, trunk, fiveelementtao who have been studying energy arts for a long time. Jenny Lamb has praised him as a dedicated student of her art and has only said positive things about him as a person. Almost everyone who has met him in person has given a positive feedback. Have I felt his orgasmo chi power? Hell, yes. So let met emphasize this point just one more time. The only reason you are choosing to call someone a fraud, which is basically accusing someone of being a liar, a cheat, to the public, for deceptive purposes is because you think it looks fake. You want Max to go on tv like John Chang did so a bunch of people can show up at his doorstep for god knows what reason? That's silly. Why would anyone want to do that?
-
Can you elaborate on your friends who have studied with him? How long and what did they learn and what exactly did they say about his teachings? And as for the latter points...reason 1 is your friend said he didn't feel anything. Reason 2 is it looks fake. So how about people who have said they have felt something? That easily counters your reason 1. Your second reason is...a complete bias. And now...you aren't sure if he is legit or not? Max has gone through medical studies. He'll show you some x-rays if you go visit him.

Awareness vs. Consciousness
Lucky7Strikes replied to JustARandomPanda's topic in Buddhist Discussion
  That was brilliant! I have no idea what Nirvana means btw. But I like putting my awareness at the heart, and being fully expressive. I read the other day also that full liberation cannot be attained simply with the Right View in Heart Drops of Dharmakaya. There is apparent more that needs to be done. -
Yeah, can I ask you how you know this too?

Is creating a World without Sexual Desires "Evil"?
Lucky7Strikes replied to tulku's topic in General Discussion
Yeah, he's quite the essential armchair practitioner. Imo these threads are a helpful mirror because it exposes extreme roads one's practice and beliefs can take you if you don't ground them in sound reason and tangible reality. I actually think tulku might even be doing this on purpose for the said reasons above. -

Lucky7Strikes replied to tulku's topic in General Discussion
what if I told you... it's likely just you. How old are you? Or when's the last time you've gotten laid or had any meaningful sexual relationship? Because your ideas of sex are all that...just "ideas" with no or little resemblance to actual sexuality. -

8 out of 10 posts you put up are on sex. It's all you talk about. Sex, sex, sex. Just an observation. . -
Scattered rhetorical questions everywhere!
-
I know I'm pretty childish at times.
-
I wrote, "next sentence." And it was literally the next sentence. You wrote: "Maybe......on the other hand,...you're too confused to remain on this forum." So compassionate mr. sassy pants!
-
Another phenomena I noticed is that when the three centers are felt to be really resonating, the body does a very slow reverse breathing naturally as your awareness is at your heart. It's very blissful.
-
You are filtering a group of messages together to weave together what you see as an outlined definition of "compassion." Ugh, whatever, I have other things to do.
-
Good, then the context of this whole thread is different now. I'm not picking a useless argument. This is a very constructive argument on your behavior. When someone posts bunch of quotes on compassion and in the next sentence tells a fellow practitioner how he doesn't belong here it sends off my bullshit alarm like crazy.
-
And who from that list asked you to deliver a message here? Don't be so dramatic. There's nothing wrong with sharing what you think are good expositions on compassion, but it is another thing to share it and claim everyone who doesn't agree with your weaving of hand picked parts ignorant, then paint yourself as some holy messenger delivering goods here. You can go buy a dalai lama book from amazon with a click of a finger. I just don't like your attitude: "the whole ignorant masses vs. oh so holy me" type of shit.
-
You make things overly complicated for no reason other than to quote bunch of fortune cookie quotes. To say what compassion is or isn't is, as Scotty said, ridiculous. Definitions and descriptions arise from the experience not the other way around, and all these qualifications you are listing don't really help a practitioner at all. Rather, share methods of understanding the compassion you've experienced. Not, "if it's not a, b, c, then it's not compassion" type of language. Why? Then your mind begins an attempt to designate the experience, in which case it is no longer what it was, as unfiltered, immediate, and mysterious. If you say, this experience is not enough, so I must change it to something more, or add another element to it, the mind will orient itself to attaining something else than what it already has at its finger tips. You're sabotaging a natural progression of direct experience with egoic tendencies.

To me when I first started Kunlun listening to music helped me loosen up a lot. Different music depending on the mood. Doing K1 after five elements is incredible because all the energy you build up is released by the posture to clear blockages. It's much more intense after standing. As for RP, I'm not sure if other people experience this, but if you also have awareness at the heart, there is a kind of resonance you feel between the heart and the third eye as you start out and as you pull the energy up, the spine seems to get involved. My RP practice isn't "deep" or anything, but like you said, the more I do it, it feels like it's not just a simple brain practice, but a whole body thing. Definitely going to ask Max about it more the next time I see him.

Being reborn again and again with the man/woman of your dreams is a Curse..
Lucky7Strikes replied to tulku's topic in General Discussion
IMO No response to tulku is going to register. This is his mess he is spilling on thetaobums again and again. It's unhealthy, mostly for him. @ tulku It's clear by now that most of the people who have replied to you don't see your view as wise or something to be praised. People here may not be the wisest or the most advanced, but they are genuine practitioners. So you should heed the consensus that your opinions are flawed.
