Make a sharp distinction between awareness and mind (thoughts)
Lucky7Strikes replied to RongzomFan's topic in General Discussion
What? Are you not aware when you think? Then how in the world do you know you had "thinking"? -

Anatta is a seal, as in, that is reality. There is no you. What is you? Your eye, your face, your feet, your feelings? Your memory? Your consciousness? All these things are transient and do not hold. At best one arrives at the uncertainty of one's identity, which is better than false certainty. The only thing that holds is insight into reality as is. True insight does not go away because it penetrates all conditions, let alone 2 days. Buddha is non other than the dharma. He is he embodiment of truth, just as in Taoism one would say that the sage is "one" with the Tao. There is no set chronology for Buddhist awakening, the methods are suited for different conditions. For you? It's going to take a lot of deep seated imaginary ego fighting. You were right when you said earlier that these teachings are dangerous for you. I personally don't think you should go near it at all since your sense of being so special is important to you. All egos, prides, attachments are subject to change. They all deconstruct and so people have said these things eventually cause suffering, and that point in suffering is when these teaching start to truly matter, not some magic tricks. -
There is no you to love. This type of love is dualistic, inherent, suffocating, and bound to lead to suffering, and delusional. It is at best a short term remedy to accept hidden tendencies and habits. Anatta, no-self, is a cornerstone teaching in Buddhism.

This is a discussion board. We're here to discuss. There's supposed to be passion here not some phony "oh you think this great pat pat pat" and "I'll think this pat pat pat." Ignoring people's views is actually insulting to them if they are serious, and you seem like a serious dude, so be expected to be challenged and argue, confirm, congratulate, support, also known as interact when you are here to find the "truth." Everyone has their ways of communicating, and yes I find this is very difficult on internet boards but I care about these things be done with some sincerity. The one thing I believe everyone should have in their mind is the willingness to learn and challenge their held beliefs. The arrogance of stating "I am enlightened and will help everyone here be enlightened" is what I found offensive. Discuss, share your beliefs, be challenged, and who cares if some harsh words are thrown here and there. In my perspective, it was a very close minded way to introduce yourself to a community of seekers and practitioners saying you have experienced enlightenment and now wish to free others. It speaks to your immaturity. I'm sorry if I've sounded too harsh or insulting, but if your words came out of my brain I would do the same to myself. I'm being as honest as I can be. Don't take this too personal. I wish you the best. -

No one is hating you. My god one day of a bit harsh words and you fold. Oh yes, everyone thinks they know everything...LIKE YOU! No one wants to listen....LIKE YOU!! You have yet to respond to any of the things that people have written from their perspective, but only your views. You can only phrase things under your own paradigm. You haven't considered ever that perhaps you may be wrong. Didn't you notice that? -

Why don't you actually reply to the contents of people's writings rather than seeing this as a who is "right" and who is "wrong" game? I'm not here to prove you wrong, I'm here to challenge your understandings and insights. -

You are the one who started this thread saying you think you are enlightened. Not any one of us. You are the one who outlined what it means. I, I, I... 1) You still hold the concept of self, of "you" controlling. There fore you are not enlightened. 2) You still hold the concept of truths and non-truths, thinking in the paradigm of existence and non-existence. Therefore you are not enlightened. 3) You still hold concepts of others and their wills and the substantiality of their opinions and actions. Therefore you are not enlightened. 4) You have not demonstrated patience for the liberation of all beings (Oh my GOD a DAY!!! A Day and you get sick of questions! :o ) but rather states your attachments to your own wills for joy and pleasure. Therefore you are not enlightened. 5) You speak of an Ultimate and a universal entity manifesting as "you" therefore (according to Buddhism at least) you are not enlightened. -

Why don't you use your super power levels of "I can do whatever I want and create my own reality" to make me understand? Am I not part of your reality? Do you feel kinda sad that maybe..maybe.. YOU JUST CAN'T DO EVERYTHING YOU WANT AND THAT THE WORLD IS NOT YOURS.. What are you 12 and just broke up with your girlfriend and need an ego boost? -

If you are everything, then you can't choose anything doofus. And again, I want to enjoy myself as much as I can is also requiring you to live a certain way. Choosing is to live a certain way. Not choosing is to live a certain way. Always ilmitations you see? -

Help someone else you say? Remember your own message, your truth is not their truth. So...um.. I want to enjoy myself as much as I can is also requiring you to live a certain way. You haven't even investigated into "I" or "here" so I don't think you should use "I am here" so readily. -

I agree to close my ears to everything else. I'll only hear what I hear. Now my ears are closed. I agree to blind my eyes to everything else! I'll only see what I see. Now don't ask me to see something else!
