It’s a waste of time anyway arguing over what the actual word is used to describe the motion, it doesn’t matter. Especially when we are taking about a tradition that never used English originally. What’s more important is that you do equal rotations one way, then equal rotations the other way. -

It’s not a controversial thing. It’s quite important actually. It just boggles my mind that people spend loads of time practicing things they aren’t sure about or know the purpose of, especially from random bits of info from the internet. -

@Neirong and @Master Logray make good points, before you can run by yourself, someone has to teach you how to walk. -
Actually @Boreas try this out. Only focus on doing Monk Gazing at Moon, Monk Holds Peach, and Monk Holds Pearl and Bending the Bows. Do all the Monk exercises for at least 10 minutes. Monk Holds Pearl can also be done seated and lying down so do that any and every chance you can, when you are on the bus or train, or before you sleep etc. Bending the Bows you can start doing just once a week to begin with (on weekend) but you must do 18 reps. Try that out for the next month and let us know how it goes.

Just had a private lesson with Sifu Terry to go over my Long Form, quite a few corrections needed! I would encourage everyone to do a private lesson with him to make corrections (and learn new things!) and undo bad habits you might have picked up, at the very least once every few months to make sure you are practicing correctly. Just doing those tiny, subtle corrections made me feel more energy flow through my body during the lesson and even more when I did Long Form by myself after class! Hope everyone’s practice is going well!

I wouldn’t just pick 1 or 2. If you are short of time and just want to focus on a few out of volume 1 and 2, do Monk Gazes at Moon, Monk Holds Peach and Monk Holds Pearl. Do them for 20 mins each.

I found a free Wang Liping pdf online once and it made my vision turn red. 10/10 would risk blindness again (jk kids, learn properly from a teacher)

Seems like your body might be adjusting to new energy then, since you’ve done over a decade of other practices which also have their own strong energy! May I ask why you decided to stop doing Pangu Shengong and Spring Forest Qigong?

Another tip @VinC, you can do Monk Holds Pearl seated at the end of your practice to bring the qi back to the lower dantian. Monk Holds Pearl can also be done lying down and seated in a chair, I like to do it when I’m commuting to work on bus or train, or when I’m on the airplane so I get some extra practice in.

Always do the breathing first. Also don’t do seated meditation 6 too close to bed time as it may keep you awake.
