That’s a shame. How come the names with Chinese characters work? Edit: I tried making a thread with it in title and comments in my PPD and it worked. Shows up both on mobile and computer.

Maybe your qi is too coarse or your channels are blocked so it gets stuck in your head -

Do for at least 10 mins, twice a day. No lying down. You can do it sitting upright in a chair if you like but it is more effective when you are seated crosslegged on the floor. -

It should open naturally when it is ready, forcing it open and running unrefined qi through it is not good. Please take my advice and do the practice that I told you. You need to bring the energy back down out of your head. -

Stop all of this. Just do seated meditation with your hands in dyana mudra by your LDT and focus your mind on LDT during meditation. Don’t do anything else related to cultivation but this for now. -

Does Taoism use "direct pointing"

Libraries weren’t burnt to destroy or hide knowledge, they were burnt to destroy the enemies knowledge. What do people gain from destroying their own knowledge? Nothing. But destroying the knowledge of the enemy means you can get ahead of them. -

My opinion is that if you want to follow a system, commit to it and do the practices how they are taught. Do not take advice from people that aren’t doing your system, and definitely do not take advice from someone doing something completely unrelated like hata yoga.
-
Stick with regular breathing. Do reverse when you learn later practices that require it. Don’t try to be clever and find shortcuts.
-
Really depends on what you are trying to achieve and what practice you are doing. For anything LDT related definitely Taoist lower abdomen breathing through the nose (can do reverse breathing for more advanced practices if required but stick with regular breathing for basic practices). But if anything has focus on higher parts of the body or it’s not a Taoist practice then maybe different breathing techniques are better.
-
So tell me how the LDT is meant to be filled with qi if you don’t breathe into it and place your intention there? If your breath and intention stops at your chest and doesn’t go lower than that, then no qi is going to your LDT. This is basic stuff guys.
-
Breathing is the most important part of meditation, especially LDT practices. Without proper breathing you are just wasting your time.
-
@Chang dao ling just wait until you learn from Rudi. Don’t waste time learning a bunch of techniques that you will have to give up in the future anyway. I already told you a method before, no need to keep on looking for more and more.

Is there a Qi advantage when using cutting implements or hand tools?
-ꦥꦏ꧀ ꦱꦠꦿꦶꦪꦺꦴ- replied to Sanity Check's topic in General Discussion
No -
Lower abdomen, it’s not a tiny point so don’t worry about looking too hard for it. When you meditate, breathe deep into your lower abdomen and extend your stomach. Just focus on the area where you feel pressure when your stomach is extended.

Happy New Year everyone!

If you want to have more qi you should do neigong and stillness meditation over qigong. Qigong uses qi and moves it around the body. It’s good for you but doing too much of it without doing neigong or seated stillness to replenish your qi isn’t good for you. This is the key part. At the very least, do seated stillness meditation at the end of your qigong sessions. And do physical exercise 3 times a week with a day rest in between. Doing qigong alone is not enough, which is why a lot of systems also have a martial arts element (which will be their physical exercise).
-
Depends on the practice. I suggest you stick to natural abdominal breathing first unless your teacher specifically says that reverse abdominal breathing is needed for a particular practice.

I would say do a system that involves dantien meditation to bring out the suppressed trauma and emotions so you can be rid of them for good. Might be difficult or annoying to deal with them when they arise but you will be much better afterwards. Check out this post by @senseless virtue, it might help you out. Especially the section about dealing with emotions and trauma releasing exercises:

It’s good to know what system your practices come from, so you can see if it’s a dead end, or there is room for progression. Also if the system has a bad reputation of practitioners getting harmed from the practice or not having any progress at all. Do your research before committing to something that you will spend a lot of your life doing.
