Forgot to reply to this earlier but it is spot on. Faqi is not the goal of the practice, it is simply a guidepost and side effect of what you can do once you have reached a certain level of cultivation. People here act like it’s the entire focus and everything ends there once you’ve learned it. The irony is the skeptics are more focused on it than the people actually practicing. In our classes we don’t even talk about it as much as proper breathing, proper diet, correct posture, TCM medicines and methods to be healthier etc.
-
Key words highlighted. This is not an investigation, it’s just watching a YouTube video and then coming up with an amateur attempt at explaining what you see without any knowledge about how it works. Go see someone who can faqi, feel it in person. Once you do that, then a proper discussion can be had. Anything else is just assumptions.

Time to be incredibly patronising and cliche: Scholar Tokusan--who was full of knowledge and opinions about the dharma--came to Ryutan and asked about Zen. At one point Ryutan re-filled his guest's teacup but did not stop pouring when the cup was full. Tea spilled out and ran over the table. "Stop! The cup is full!" said Tokusan. "Exactly," said Master Ryutan. "You are like this cup; you are full of ideas. You come and ask for teaching, but your cup is full; I can't put anything in. Before I can teach you, you'll have to empty your cup."

This is why we can’t have nice things 😂😂😂

And what is your evidence of this? Do you practice any neigong? Have you experienced faqi? Do you know what you are talking about or are you just making assumptions? Now you are being a paranoid conspiracy theorist. Well I wish you all the best in your practice then.

If I knew the exact brand and model, I would tell you and give you the Amazon link. But I don’t, so you will have to ask Sifu Constantino or Jiaoshi Andrea about that. Master Zhou, Rudi and all of his students don’t use the machine. Because Rudi and many of his students have spent countless hours with Master Zhou. If there was a machine they would have said so. I don’t know if using the machine is as effective for treatment than using your own qi, you will have to ask Sifu Constantino or Jiaoshi Andrea.
-
As far as I know, the machine that the Italians use will not just let anyone be able to faqi. First you have to activate your lower dantien to be able to store the excess qi that you either generate yourself, or use this machine to insert electricity into your body. You still have to do the hard work of activating the dantien yourself which only comes from correct practice or if a high level master is able to activate your dantien for you. It’s not a case of anyone just using the machine and then they are able to faqi. But again, this could have been found out with a simple question: “How does this machine work?”. The machine is just a shortcut to accumulate “electric qi”. Or as Jiaoshi Andrea said, if you faqi while plugged into the machine, it allows you to use the electricity generated from the machine rather than using up your own qi. The reason for doing this could be if you are low on qi and need to finish up someone’s treatment, or simply because you don’t want to waste your own qi on someone else. It’s completely optional.

Ah yes, no bias at all there. Tell me why you are even on a forum called “The Dao Bums” if you think Daoist practices are a load of shit? Yet you spend so much time trying to disprove it, to the point of buying a static machine.
-
Mate you complain about parlour tricks yet you posted this video and said this is similar to what you do: I don’t think you are in any position to judge what looks ridiculous or not. Why not ask Rudi what is going on in those videos instead of coming up to your own (wrong) conclusions. You already got the electrocution machines completely wrong and also thought the head of our lineage is in Thailand (he’s not). Why don’t you just be humble and take the opportunity to learn? Is it so important to be right all the time?
-
Yes I’m starting to think the same. I have no problem with genuine skeptics, but when someone already has a huge bias that skews their view or just wants to be right then there is an issue. They (this Italian group) use machines to electrocute themselves. Master Zhou and Rudi’s lineage don’t. It maybe comes from Sifu Luo in Thailand, who is not connected to our lineage at all, or maybe it’s something Sifu Constantino came up with. I don’t know, it’s not my lineage. I don’t particularly care either. The practices from Rudi are mainly from Master Zhou in China. Two different countries. All of this can be found out by you simply asking questions to learn more, but you’ve already decided the answer before looking at the facts so it doesn’t really matter to you. I honestly don’t care if you believe faqi exists or not, I and many others will continue to learn regardless. What I care about is the lack of critical thinking and proper investigation. What you thought was a big gotcha moment is actually a completely irrelevant piece of information that doesn’t prove any point.

One thing to note is the feeling of being zapped by static electricity is very different from being zapped by faqi. Ideally you should find someone who’s experienced faqi and test it on them, or go and experience it yourself so you will know what effect should be recreated.

This is perfect, thanks for sharing!

One thing I’ve learned is it generally depends on your age. When you are 10-19 having a day in between is fine, 20-29 have two days in between, 30-39 have three days in between, 40-49 have four days etc. Obviously everyone is different and some may require more or less days in between but counting the days by how many decades you’ve lived is an easy way to remember.

The electric eel shocks its prey by first hypnotising it and then telling it that it will feel an electric shock. Miraculously it can speak the language of every animal in the world to communicate with it.
-
I can’t believe I had to point that out. People on Daobums really just like listening to their own voice instead of learning.
-
Post the results of this test then. Everything about it. I don’t believe you know anything, you are too scared to even talk to Rudi so why would I believe you’ve talked to anyone else who can faqi. Still not one question from you. Ah the Messiah has returned to bring heaven on Earth! Blessed be the posters of this thread.

Yes he replied to the OP on the first page. His user name is 小梦想. Ask him about it
-
Honestly guys the most ridiculous thing about this thread is everyone discussing faqi and speculating about how it works. Why not just ask Rudi to explain? Not a single question so far has been directed to him in a thread about him and his class.

Do you know this?

The thing is, Rudi, Pak John and anyone else with this ability never claim that faqi is a miracle cure that will magically fix your body. It is only one very effective part of treatment. You still have herbs, pills and other TCM related techniques taken and done along with faqi. Faqi is not for entertainment or to destroy your enemies like a Sith Lord, as some people here like to think. It is just a byproduct of proper cultivation that just happens to be useful in healing.

Oh very cool! I’m more into the healing aspects of internal arts so wouldn’t really learn this kind of thing but it would be very interesting to experience. Thanks for sharing! Is he based in Jakarta? I have family there and visit from time to time. Also what kind of stuff do you do?

Yes but you can check with your own eyes and hands (if they let you) that no machine is being used, and that they are barefoot? Being barefoot is key because these zapping machines only work if you are wearing shoes.
