An update on my eyes. Right eye has gone to 0.0, left eye is still at -0.50. Going to focus on getting the left eye to 0.0 for the next check up in two weeks! If I could get one eye from -0.75 to 0 I can definitely get the other one from -0.50 to 0!

Welcome to the dao bums!

Yes my belief in common sense

No amount of chi kung would make my eyes go from -11.25 to 0.00

We got a letter that John sent to Jim. Not sure if those have been posted in other threads before

Whenever we talk bad about Mo Pai we really mean western “Mo Pai”. Real Mo Pai deserves respect.

Some people call it sitting on your broke ass all day doing nothing. I call it meditation.

An update to my eye surgery results. Today I went for a post operation check up and my right eye has improved from prescription of -0.75 to -0.25, left eye has gotten a bit worse from a prescription of 0.00 to -0.50. Nothing really concerning, eyes are still healing and stabilising so having the numbers closer together is a good thing, will take months to fully heal. I hope by my next appointment in a month I can get them both to 0.00, which is ambitious since hardly anyone will have completely perfect eyesight like that, but -0.25 in both eyes would be the realistic result. Only time will tell. Now for the interesting part, after I left the opticians office and walked through the lobby there was a big white statue of Guanyin on the TV in the waiting room. I had to stop and do a double take to make sure I was seeing it properly. I think it’s the Guanyin statue at Wat Huay Pla Kung in Chang Rai. I don’t believe this is a coincidence, especially since I’ve been doing FPCK! One day I have to personally visit that site to say thank you!

Thank you for posting this. See, we can have an actual discussion about Mo Pai here! This letter seems to line up with what Pak John says in The Magus of Java about being concerned that the knowledge might disappear.

Thanks for the links Ken! Will check them out!

Now I can honestly believe that there was a rule allowing anyone non Chinese to join. If we look at it in the context of Indonesia, Chinese Indonesians have been heavily persecuted and discriminated against for centuries by the other ethnic groups. I’m not sure if a lot of silat, ilmu tenaga dalam or kebatinan groups don’t allow Chinese Indonesians to join but I wouldn’t be surprised. It could be the case that when Jim, Kostas and co came to Pak John, he might have seen a potential loophole in allowing them to join because the rule was always meant to apply to non-Chinese Indonesians, not people from a land far away with no negative history towards Chinese Indonesians. So Pak John could have given them a chance due to no bad blood between their ethnicities. Unfortunately some of these westerners brought shame and trouble to Mo Pai and Pak John in multiple ways so they had to be cracked down on, and poor Pak John got the blame for letting them in. All speculation of course but to me this feels like the most logical outcome.

There’s already a thread dedicated to you there!

That’s interesting, I wonder what’s the reason behind it. More oxygen flowing to the eyes?

The optician said that there is always a chance that eyesight can get worse, due to old age and other factors so there is no guarantee that it will stay. However there is no guarantee that it will get worse either. But yes I will continue to do daily chi kung because I believe it helped me to get the more than optimal results from this surgery. Even in the month before the surgery I would notice my eyesight continually getting better and better with consistent practice. I could see further and clearer than I normally would, and lights look more vivid and vibrant than from before doing any chi kung. It’s like the difference between watching something in SD and then watching it in HD. My next goal is to see if I can get my right eye from -0.75 to 0 by the time I have the follow up appointment at the eye clinic next week. I think FPCK can help with the healing process to get it perfect but only time will tell!

I don’t understand your point but it doesn’t matter anyway my eyesight is fixed perfectly. Prescriptions will soon become a distant memory.

Ah, I had myopia (shortsightedness). Never had a problem with hyperopia (longsightedness).
