I've used a pendulum for dowsing on many occasions. You can use it for the same thing, if you really wish. For yes or no questions, go with your heart. My pendulum is something I meditate over and keep close to me... It's a personal tool. I first used it when I was in High School eons ago; I was flunking my classes and the school would not let me graduate if I did not find or pay for my $300 science text book (I was a bad student LOL). I had been given a pendulum but never used it, and I figured it was the time. I "calibrated" it, and it managed to find my missing textbook way too quickly than I'd like to admit! Now, I try not to loose things that don't belong to me. But I also trust my pendulum if I do need quick help finding something or answering a question. . I definitely agree with this. There is so much speculation over how these things work, but it would be silly to disregard all of it as much of modern science does. The Earth has it's own magnetic fields as does the universe. Every year birds migrate always knowing the correct way. The Tao is about... -
A couple weeks ago I picked up Benebell Wen's I Ching from my library. I'm still making my way through reading it, and I enjoy some of her takes but not all (I have heard not all of her historical knowledge is accurate, but idk). What I REALLY like is her breakdown of each trigram and their correspondence to each hexagram. She notes how often these interpretations can be very personal, and I believe studying AND knowing that can help round out your knowledge. Knowing how the different trigrams interplay with one another is a big part of understanding the I Ching. I'm still making my way through her version! But it really enlightened me on just how different and vast these interpretations of the 64 Hexagrams can be. Otherwise, I find Huang's to be the best and most informative for me. These different versions are less translations and more interpretations. So, my liking of Huang's I Ching is purely subjective. I really like why and how he went about writing it given his history, his take on the Ten Wings, and his diagrams

Hi all! I am returning to the forum here with hopes to be more active When I first joined, I was quite overwhelmed by the wealth of knowledge a lot of you folks have on Taoism! Coming back, I am shocked by how many more topics and terms I comprehend now that time has passed. I'm going to be continuing my studies, readings, and starting a new Gong for myself soon. I hope you all are doing well !

Hello! I consider myself a “beginner” Taoist. I enjoy doing Kung Fu, Taiji, Qigong, Meditation, and tea ceremony. I’ve come here seeking more resources on Taoism; I’m interested in learning about religious Taoism, neidan, feng shui, and other related subjects as I’m completely new to them. Thanks for having me
