Youtube qigong videos : pointless ? benifical ? how benifical ?
Neirong replied to waterdrop's topic in Daoist Discussion
Good case of NLP programming. He makes you doubt the legitimacy of every teacher out there and at the same time he makes you believe you are practicing "legit authentic lineage passed ancient methods - blah blah". He gives you a plausible reason why it is so, turning off brain and critical thinking. Two questions to you. 1. Have you verified that Damien has Dan Tien developed by yourself? Have you seen it? 2. Have you seen a single student of Damien who has Dan Tien developed, and high level of neigong power, after 25+ years of teaching career, and he is teaching thousands of people (good chance that someone can succeed). The questions are rhetorical the answer is known. -
Grandmasters review: Mantak Chia and Xu Mingtang
Neirong replied to Neirong's topic in Daoist Discussion
He has that legendary teleportation power if it is about teleporting pancakes with caviar from the plate on the table into his dantien. If you read an article closely, there are unique videos presented - showing superpowers demonstrations, one is where Grandmaster Xu moves his hand toward pancakes, and then it disappears. The next frame shows there is no pancake on the plate. -
You may practice simple qigong and simple meditation without supervision/teacher. Yoga, cardio, pilates, e.t.c. It may not be the best idea for long-term progress, but not dangerous. I do not recommend touching third-eye practices with the same carefree approach. There are few people in the world who have a third eye working and open. And a lot of things that can go wrong and cause lasting and debilitating injuries. Nobody will be able to heal or fix you if that happens.

@Stars The best advice is not to seek advice and guidance on Forums. Don't think that because people are older and study for years from some celebrity teachers, they are qualified enough to give feedback or teach. "Seniors" may lead you down the pitfall where they sit themselves. 15-16 is a good age to start qigong training. Once you develop decent energy sensitivity and energy surplus, you can start thinking of which path and direction you want to take and how to develop further. There is a lot more to this world than just neigong/qigong.

There are a lot of people talking smack about Visualization on this forum. It seems to be happening for some time here; surprisingly, much milder positions are shown in this particular thread, as a visual poll shows "the loudest voices are not the majority." I treat them as I would Flat Earthers. Flat Earthers exist, they have their own opinion, and it is quite an ignorant and arrogant bunch of people actively trying to impose the "truth" on others; it is pointless to discuss or try to disprove a Flat Earther. They can go on for hours providing countless arguments why Earth is flat, and why you are so stupid if you don't agree with it. Unlike neigong and qigong, visualization practices are not easy and not accessible to everyone. You can't just sit here or stand for 3 hours, as a test to get accepted to "high level teacher of a secret lineage". This is not a kindergarten. People with weak minds and closed higher chakras won't be able to do even the most simple Visualization. It is no wonder, Teachers with no attainment in meditation - all hate Visualization. You hate what you do not understand, and you also hate people who shake and shatter your cultish worldview/delusional bubble by the mere presence in the informational field. While their hatred and contempt are spilling towards everyone with different "views" (classic cultish behavior), what is even more appalling is the derogatory remarks about ancient traditions and cultures. According to them, Ancient Yogi, Buddhists, Hinduists, Christians, Sufi, Tibetan Lamas, and adepts of Magic did not know a thing about cultivation, and new-age teachers like Adam Mizner have found the ultimate truth. Which is something along the line "stretch uncomfortably". This kind of desecration of ancient arts and masters does not go without consequences.

Imagine people who require heavy drugs to get relaxed. Like whiskey and cigars. Wait. Those are the famous masters of "internal skill." So what exactly are they teaching? What is the value of teaching in the end? The skill is so big it is swelling off their bodies as fat and a personality so advanced spiritually. All social media are loaded with flaunting wealth, derogatory posts towards Asian, Daoist, and Buddhist cultures, Daoist sex posts, and laughing at many other traditions. The high school kids have a higher level of spiritual and intellectual development and don't act as your Teachers do online. The funniest thing in this story is cult followers who will accept everything above and even invent a greater purpose or meaning. They choose to close their eyes on reality and listen to fantasy words from their "Guru" mouth. Overall it reminds me of Osho; the guy was also very popular.

There isn't a tradition in this world in a more sorry state than Daoism. First, they were destroyed and hunted down in China without the ability to do anything. It turns out an ability to electrocute on touch or burn napkins that masters had is useless versus guns and authorities. Now with "popular teachers in the west" praising Andrew Tate's persona and actively building an identical personality cult based on self, ego jerking, showcasing luxury, lavish lifestyle, and all those great spiritual values. It is hard to imagine how low you must be in spiritual development to drink whiskey and smoke cigars on public podcasts for tens of thousands of gullible followers. Alright, you are a weak untrained individual with strong addictions to strong drugs but don't spread this publicly. The whole podcast approach seems obvious to invite preferably white males, subservient, weak beings, or close friends that will not question and will rather boost the authority of Damien. Can you imagine any real Buddhist Monk coming to a podcast where this guy is smoking and drinking? More so, with a history of disgust and unmasked contempt towards Buddhism, Daoism religions, and ancient culture from Damien. He will not be tolerated in any authentic spiritual circles. And Yes, Damien Mitchell/Adam Mizner are much worse than Mantak Chia (An achievement marked). Nothing has been lost with Visualization. Surely, it may sound different when you listen to losers who cannot do it themselves due to weak minds and mental development. The answer to difficult questions is often more simple than it seems. If you are stuck at a dead end without any siddhi or spiritual development, it may be because that is the path you have chosen. Dead end with no progression beyond reciting fantasies of immortality, spirituality, and neidan while gobbling down whiskey, and cigars and coping hard on Instagram posts.

Levels are only subjective things; they are "different" for each system. For example, we have foundation training, which could be called level 1 (when completed). Many "famous" teachers I have seen would be far below our foundation training standards. Magic, in particular, is a very complex art that is more suitable for strong minds and souls, with a thirst for knowledge and cultivation. If we see someone too weak, we recommend an easier path elsewhere. You may advance in a system X for many years, going from one rank to another, but to a system of another scale/dimension, you would be staying standstill. Your development is too slow even to matter or be noticeable on a big scale of things. You may be trying to drain an ocean with a teaspoon, good luck with that.
-
I have not seen any signs of a "system" there. The system has pointers A -> B -> C, a progression, and an ability to evolve oneself. "Theimmortalpath.com" looked like a complete mess with piles of junk and garbage lying around, with some free ads to "support the website". It was probably even worse structured than Damo's self-made scamgong academy, which is ridiculously bad. There are a bunch of videos online with photoshopped after-effects, showing nothing substantial but a mental illness and deviations. I would say that the guy is completely lost in what he is doing and why. It is understandable though if he is under entity possession.

There is really nothing valuable in any of those teachings.

Telekinesis, Remote Viewing, Out of Body

Both lucid dreaming and astral travel are Ancient Arts; they have been practiced for thousands of years. It is more truthful to call new age - schools that do not include such training into the curriculum. The world around us is much more than it seems to an observer stuck inside a physical body, on the lowest level of consciousness possible. It does not defy any laws of physics. It only shows ignorance of school-level physics. Ask yourself why they bend spoons and not other shapes of metal. -
What if your teacher is too advanced for you?
Neirong replied to old3bob's topic in General Discussion
Learning is like climbing a tall mountain; when you give it all of your efforts, ascend to the peak, only to realize you are at the foundation of another mountain which is twice as tall and twice as sharp as the one you have previously climbed. The problem is until you have climbed the first mountain, you cannot even perceive the second one. It is not visible. You can only tell whether a teacher is advanced if you see the whole thing. You can never tell how good a university professor at maths is if you cannot count to 10. Unfortunately, many public teachers are not interested in climbing any mountain; they sit deep in a warm swamp and drag people into delusional fog producing mindless thralls that run around and try to praise and elevate the cult leader by any means possible. "That is where the gossip about imaginary siddhi, qualities and attainments comes from." -
Training should have goals, purposes and milestones.

I have seen a yogi settlement closed group that chased immortality with mercury elixirs. It is just a rabbit hole a sensible being would avoid. Same as breatharianism. I believe Mitchell is next Mantak, massive ego, no skill, and Freeform teacher is not much different either. The whole lineage they promote around fervently is just a dead schrodinger cat reality with various persona cults to worship and no actual attainments or siddhis. Dead end path. When non-awakened beings teach, it leads to a disaster or a cult. That said, Nathan Brine is truly impressive, teaching various kinds of breathing as foundation training. Why train for several thousand hours, and go through the whole schooling process, when you can breathe and watch prerecorded lectures? The target audience of this program must be housewives and the elderly.

When an untrained individual or skeptics who cannot feel chi can do the same thing without prior training and replicate brutal Qigong demonstrations "only great masters do," only the densest and brainwashed can keep up the belief in the pipe dream. By the way, the same is valid for many tai chi schools. Parlor trickery, unfortunately, is marketed and sold as a genuine internal art. All this comes from a tiny brain of practitioners and a lack of ethics. Scamgong is a viral disease, and people who endorse those "masters" are on the level of larvae worse than imps in energy realm. Fake martial arts, fake neigong, fake spiritual development, see where it goes - growing a persona cult.

I have seen LoneMan Pai, and although similar subscription model to tuition, our similarities end there. We don't teach anything dangerous like demon summoning and possession rituals but rather focus on laying a solid foundation for further practice. We have a well-structured program where you go from easy to more difficult practices step by step. It is school with supervision, feedback, deadlines and no nonsense talking. More importantly magic path goes far unlike many others available where you get stuck like frog in the well developing dunning kruger syndrome and don't develop any practical or useful abilities (siddhi). If anyone has serious questions and wants to learn, join our discord.

That is why we teach astral travel as a part of a complete system, not a standalone thing. There is much preparation work to be done; nobody sends neophytes to war against a horde of demons.

Just as accurate as guessing one out of sextillion combinations on a lockbox, at the very least, you would need the correct framework, paradigm, and genuine siddhi before walking on your own. I have never seen anyone get far without a school or teacher. Even in rare cases, if a person has exceptional talent, he would still do better to pass proper education in ancient arts rather than spend life inventing the wheel. Or you will end up using Tarot for readings, which is just as practical as using iPhone for hitting nails into concrete. That said, Magic is the complete spiritual path of development. It has a lot packed inside, and the downside is that it is challenging and takes a long time to learn. Most people strive for easier systems where you do not need to use your brain and can follow the simple instructions of a blockheaded "master."

Link the demos, because most I have see online are scamgong and parlor tricks. Refer to article Hard daoist Qigong scam

We teach it, but it is a part of a complete training system, not a standalone module. The training is challenging and takes years to complete. (Not everyone will make it) Yes, it is a necessary skill for a cultivator or an Adept to have and develop. Moving out of the body is an easy part. Navigating the multidimensional realm, opening portals, and training the astral body to Magus's requirements is a different level altogether. The skill ceiling goes higher than someone can think. People who cannot move out of their body on will, suffer from incomplete, fragmented teachings, train with scamgong gurus, and end up being forum trolls.

You don't rise above something without going through it first. I.e., you could try to skip the education process and go to work, but that will be an unhealthy approach. Patients of a neurosurgeon who missed all classes won't be delighted. Without building up all the right qualities on the astral plane, going further to higher realms is either suicide or naive foolery.

Astral travel, or going out of the body, is an essential part of the core skill set of an Adept in Magic tradition. Magus spend decades and centuries exploring other worlds, researching beings of other worlds, and accumulating experience, wisdom, and power.
