I agree, but as it stands I'm yet to see any example of chi powers that looks different from a hypnotic effect. There's really a simple way to distinguish the two tho, and that would be to force push something inanimate, but this is yet to be demonstrated convincingly. I'll be more than happy for people to think my "powers" come from my Qi practice, which I do daily, and maybe can start charging thousands of dollars for? After all, how do you know it isn't actual "Qi" phenomena.
-
There actually is a device to create electric shocks, and it requires someone to be wearing long pants and leather shoes. As for the hypnosis stuff, I am able to achieve pretty much all phenomena related to Qi demonstrations typically presented, via hypnosis. Maybe there is "genuine" external Qi phenomena out there, but I'm yet to see it.

What controls the experience of "Qi" in our bodies is our mind / imagination / intent, in essence, us. As for the nature of "Qi", while I experience "Qi", labeling it as some "physical" force like electricity is too premature, as it could very well be just a wave of sensations coursing through certain aspects of our sensory systems and nerves. The danger is people will feel something, and then start attributing all kinds of meaning to what they feel, when the truth is, we just don't know, but I personally lean on it being a manifestation of our sensations as I have a background in hypnosis and have experienced what the human mind is capable of manifesting (such as feeling your whole arm on fire, and other hypnotic phenomena) But then again, some will argue that hypnosis just activated the "Qi" energy which manifests the experience. To those I say, there is no need to "cultivate" then, because a good hypnotist will have you feeling sensations beyond anything people can achieve in a Qi gong practice, in much less time, including full blown hallucinations.

It would probably be easier to name all the things that weren't considered a God at some point in time. Even airplanes got in with the cargo cult.

Yes, I'm not a fan. Better to put the work in doing kegels and the like.

I couldn't see anything for lasting longer here... But I do remember reading that pressing down on the perineum will hold the flow of sperm.

It's more likely someone strung together a fanciful story around repeating a few common yoga exercises to make a quick buck. If some mystical story gets people doing a consistent exercise routine, then I guess it's all good. Similar to how some people do Qi Gong to get special power or immortality.

There's absolutely no reason for someone to charge more for Qi Gong, than anyone charging to attend any other martial art. That's my yard stick for figuring out if someone is just there to take people's cash. I have no idea how much the guy you mentioned charges by the way, maybe it's reasonable, maybe not.

New Thoughts On MaoShan Spirit Fighting

Why I won't take anything someone calling themselves "Thunder wizard" seriously? I thought that would be self explanatory. -
Can anyone recommend a good bagua qigong video on YouTube.

I experience both lucid dreaming and astral projection. The experiences are most certainly real and can be developed. Keeping a dream diary, and attempting to recall dreams each morning was probably the most helpful advice to achieve lucid dreaming. There are a few theories on dreams. Some say they are visions of significance, and maybe even into the future, others that it's just a brain dump of useless things that happened during the day. Bi tend to think it's a mixture of both. Most of it is rubbish, but every once in a while you get a representation of some aspect of your subconscious mind, and it feels more profound since you are experiencing it. Definitely a tool worth cultivating for anyone on a spiritual path.

If only every Korean did this back then... They would be slaughtered by the red army. But it would have been nice. -
Hello. I'm Art, and identify as a human most of the times. From a young age I had an interest in martial arts, and energy cultivation type things. I also worked as a massage therapist for a few years, and currently moonlight as a hypnotist. Due to my understanding and experience with hypnosis, I keep a skeptical mind on any experiences I have, but I do have them, be it feeling the "Qi", lucid dreaming, astral projection. The experiences are real, and feel nice, or are fun, so I keep doing them, but I don't have any concrete proof of them being tangible or just something my mind might have made up.

Do you have some evidence for this take, such as ancient translated texts and the like. This is the first time I'm hearing an interpretation like this. Ultimately the Ying Yang these days can mean many different things, which is the beauty of it. To me it strongly represents the male and female energies and their melding to complete a whole, as well as the little bit of the others energy we all carry inside.

What is your purpose for your practice?
Partez replied to Sleepy Bluejay's topic in Daoist Discussion
Mentioning alchemy is actually quite appropriate, because medieval alchemy had a goal of finding the fountain of youth and creating gold, and while it didn't obtain those goals, the practice contributed to the scientific field. In the same way I think, ancient Daoists set loft goals, and while the jury's still out on anyone obtaining those (much like the fabled philosopher's stone) Through the practices they discovered something of value none the less. I believe.- 23 replies

The consultation and "diagnosis" is free for this one, then they send you a prescription, but you're not forced to buy from them. I did because my friend said they had a good quality product for a good price. It's around $150 for 10 grams or 30ml of the oil. Man, I was just in Himachal Pradesh in India, that's my kind of meditation retreat up there ðĪŠ
