Okay fine. Race doesn't exist, but ethnic backgrounds do.

Hey hey hey hey... Editing this post. Folks, it was a joke. I'm not spreading anti-semitism or lies. For crying out loud dude. For crying out loud, I just wanna hang out here in peace. I just thought it was okay to joke about that kind of stuff because the title of the thread is about Jewish people being smart. I meant no harm and I meant no offense. Please give me back my posting privileges. I just wanna be here in peace. Please.

Thanks. I'll reply to this more thoroughly in some hours. -

Is that directly from the Tao Te Ching? Or somewhere else? -
I'm mainly a powerlifter type of guy. I'm 260 pounds and can do one pull up. I can squat 315 pounds for 12 reps. I trained for eight months in an MMA gym for their Judo curriculum. I havent been able to make time to continue the Judo, but I've been training hard in powerlifting for over two years now. I have a book and a long video of Shifu Yan Lei, a Shaolin monk specializing in Qi Gong exercises. I'd rather make that a priority before going back to Judo. I am doing it for spiritual development. I guess my question is... If I start with Yan Lei's book and video, getting into a routine with his exercises and stuff... What's next? How do I know I'm improving? How do I know I got good enough for the more advanced stuff? I don't even know what I don't know. What milestones in my Qi Gong and Tai Chi practice that I'm looking out for? Stamina on the horse stance? A certain feeling in my Chi? How? What? Much appreciated.

Wrong on several fronts. You have to realize that Christians see God the same way Daoists see the Dao. God is way too powerful and infinite to not be able to freely give lots of love to all of humanity throughout all history. You are thinking of God here as if he is a powerful human demi-god leader relying on human-made technology to rule over people. No my friend. No.

I train for both powerlifting and Olympic-style weightlifting, so I'm set for strength and muscle mass. I've been doing that for over two years. I don't do cardio though, other than walking from the parking lot to my work area. I wonder if others here lift weights, or does zumba. Or something. I justify my lack of cardio activity by occasionally fasting for a whole day. But still, a little cardio will do me wonders. Just busy.

Not a bad idea. Will that make a big impact in the quality of my meditations? And how relaxed I am while in my house? Not a bad idea. I'm just not sure if the positive impact is substantial enough. -

I mean, I'm trying to be rich here. Gotten promoted twice so far in the company and got a raise in the past. I ain't stopping anytime soon. At the same time, wu wei requires a life of solitude with nature... I mean, is there a way to integrate that philosophy with a man focused on material gain? -
I am a thirty-three year old Asian man in the US who has been weight training rigorously for more than two years now. I also work in the fitness industry as a sales representative. I love my job and I love my primary hobby. I am deeply passionate about scholarly learning and philosophy, however, I feel it is time for me to actually get into a spiritual practice that isn't praying to Jesus. I am choosing Qi Gong instead of zen meditation or yoga.
