Liking and not liking things is inherently judgemental. People generally like compliments and that's a judgement. Maybe everyone likes to criticize, but no one likes to be criticized. Still not completely true. It is cloudy, but when people start to believe they see clearly and perceive everything as good and evil, black and white, that can cause more troubles than the cloudiness. Shapeshifting and give it all the slip might help, what you thought you judged wasn't even the same thing as it is now. The present is now, judgements are based on the old things that used to be.

Evolution vs. Creationism. Bill Nye Debates Ken Ham.
zanshin replied to ralis's topic in The Rabbit Hole
Natural selection has been thought to take place over millions of years. Small less genetically diverse can significantly diverge within a few generations from the main group in some situations. http://wallace.genetics.uga.edu/groups/evol3000/wiki/fb221/Bottlenecks_and_Founder_Effects.html -
Evolution vs. Creationism. Bill Nye Debates Ken Ham.

Domestic horses and Mongolian horses can have offspring but they have issues because of intraspecies differences. Or horses and donkeys more common example- mules are sterile offspring because of species divergence. -
Dylan Farrow's accusations of Woody Allen are heartbreaking. Assuming you believe her, then what does this mean for the consumer? Do you boycott or avoid art if you believe it's creator is beyond reprehensible or do you judge art by its aesthetic value only? I can see both sides and am interested in people's opinions.

That guy?! After allegations of molestation and domestic abuse I think they should have found a big strong girl. If they could have found a real life Madea to whup on him and talk smack, that I might watch.

The Asian ones are the only true wild horses left and are considered a different species or subspecies. Other wild horses are domesticated animals that escaped, but the Asian herd was never domesticated. Still very small population not sure of numbers a little further from extinction than maybe 20 years ago. There is a small all male herd at local nature preserve. It was hard to establish because naturally the males will fight until they kill each other. The vets gave them heavy duty psych meds (something usually used for schizophrenics) til they got accustomed to each other and then slowly tapered it, so now they share this herd for captive breeding programs. That is all I remember. I also got to pet a rhino the day I learned about them (friend who is a vet so I got to go on a special tour).

Study shows Tai Chi can lower blood sugar and pressure.
zanshin replied to 110576_1494798793's topic in Daoist Discussion
They've shown it improves balance and even bone density for older people. What I would like to see is maybe a study about tai chi vs. maybe something like ballroom dancing. Wonder how much effect is tai chi itself vs. getting some sustained gentle exercise and mental stimulation of learning a routine. -
I've switched to more short runs and sprinting. Incidentally, new studies also show the idea that running and high impact activities cause arthritis and wear out your joints may not be correct. http://well.blogs.nytimes.com/2014/01/10/ask-well-is-jogging-bad-for-older-people/

Wild sugar, it's sort of an interesting example. Most here read sugar and think of something processed from a bag. Chewing raw sugar cane is not much like the taste of processed sugar. What we think is nature is not really the same as nature when the earth had a much sparser human population. I think some of the old classical writings and the hexagrams come from a time when people lived much closer to nature so in reading it can help to understand original nature and to recognize some wrong impressions.

I've heard this one too. Also that if you apply the crushed juice right after you were exposed to poison ivy it can prevent getting a rash at all. That I have done and either it worked or I wasn't really exposed. Not going to intentionally test it.

Ukrainians use very warm cabbage leaves as compresses for bruises and pains. Just heard it couple days ago and haven't tried it.

Do you sleep well outside when it's not cold? Some times when I've slept in tent without kids, dogs, bad weather conditions or noisy neighbors it's been really good and restful sleep.

You thought you couldn't but you did...

Have learned to function on way less sleep than I thought I needed. -
Might be fun to hook up the power washer.

I would like to find ways to work phrases like "the bee's knees" and "the cat's pajamas" into more everyday conversations.

Cats are non-Newtonian liquids.

How about coffee grinders? Is there a manual one. I would rather turn a crank or something than hear that noise in the morning. I use a French press and may try an ibrik.

Corpses and roses? Garden blooms and grows better if you cultivate the soil by mixing in old dead decomposed things. Then there's weeds and pests to get rid of too.
