Sure! You can have anything you want except the lime fruit bars. Those are mine. -

Sure, good discussion, entertaining and food for thought. Being serious not snarky. Enjoyable to do a bit of intellectual roundabout without too much emotional hurt feeling vibe. Thanks and good night. -

Likes silence better than arguing. But now I'm going to watch the debate, do it seems like I must be an awful choice maker. Well the kids want to watch and I do like to roll my eyes and make snarky comments. -

I thought I said I don't like dualities, of course i wouldn't really choose either both are horrid. I also don't choose western or eastern spirituality. People think they have to agree with some system though. You said you like right answers and truths; i don't have any of those. My point was you don't have to make choices if you don't know, keep open to potential. Choices and truth sticks, accepting uncertainty allows for flow. All manure is crap, but not all crap is manure. -

I'll try another one. I like bathing in horse manure better than eating it. So this word like can mean different things too. Our brains like making choices from dichotomies, one is good and right, one is bad and wrong, but lesser of 2 evils can still be crap. -
I think already too much quiet sitting in modern education. Gym classes and recess time getting cut, sports are all about achievement too instead of just having fun. Nature is an occasional field trip. The irony is a lot of innovation and fabulous creative thinking can come out of being silly and having fun, but with everything so systematic and media fills up free time, it's become all about getting to elusive goals and we don't know how to enjoy the ride.

I didn't actually say I liked questions though. I like doing 3 pages of long division problems better than eating a bowl of big bowl of slimy okra. So I don't agree, but I don't completely disagree either. Curiosity killed the cat, which is a stupid thing people made up, and cat is another word we made up. It is a good simple word that most people have a clear idea what it means better than truth. But the word cat isn't really a cat and calling a dog a cat doesn't make it one. But if everyone called dogs cats for a long time it would become the right word for a dog. A tiger is a type of cat now. So we need to clarify cat. Maybe a big, black, Halloween alley cat with a silver collar, these other words might help. But just the word cat, we might all very different picture in our mind. How do we know whose idea is right? Is there a universal cat? Words and ideas are inherently confusing subjective things. -

Because I didn't want to include any questions. Sometimes I can think about math questions and find the right answers or I can learn the right way to solve the problem. Talking about philosophy I am more interested understanding why others feel and think the way they do instead of judging it. Let's save these words think and right for math. Can you make posts without these words- right, truth, think and evolve? -

I like questions better than answers. You're not wrong til you think you have the right answers. -

I think it's good for kids and adults to learn about many philosophies and religions. Definitely not just one though, in understanding the alternatives less likely to be seduced by dogma and the idea that some group has the right answers. -
We change. I don't think individuals really evolve and this word evolve too overused. Let's save it talking about species and natural selection. It's really easy to change my mind, not so much my DNA.

Looked at property that "needed" timbered this weekend, didn't agree with the realtor on that. Native Americans did cut and clear trees at times, even used controlled burns, but they certainly didn't cut it all down. The Lorax does not approve. -
oh, still no marathon. Stress fractured metatarsal from increasing mileage too quick this summer. So if you run barefoot or wear barefoot shoes and are trying to not run on your heels, progress slowly, and especially never do multiple power sprints in soft sand after long run day no matter how cool it is interrupt the sea gull conventions. Still like the barefoot shoes and will never go back to cushioned shoes.

I've talked to a MS patient who says her mom pulled her back. She felt peace, saw her ancestors and everything was beautiful. She heard every word of her mom's prayers out in the waiting room and she wasn't very happy with her mom either because it was good and she wanted to go.

Is he okay? I like the talk, but seemed like maybe he had a little facial droop on the left. Wondered if that and the pauses were due to something neurological? -
I'll just walk.

The idea that "Oh I had to do it because I needed the money"
zanshin replied to skydog's topic in General Discussion
Real estate taxes came from the idea that those with more wealth who lived in a community should have more responsibility to help take care of the community. I said it's sort of outdated because now it doesn't seem equitable that a farmer should pay more money for schools and such than a professional person with a higher income. But if the requirement to pay taxes is thuggery, what alternative do you suggest? I'm in favor a more minimalist government, but it seems like we need some sort of community pot to at least take care of the infrastructure and provide some services and I do think the wealthy should kick in for education for all otherwise class structure can only become more and more entrenched. -

Taxes are mandatory administrative expense for schools, roads, police, fire and other services. I think it's a pretty good deal. Real estate taxes are sort of outdated though from when land was more closely tied to wealth. -
The idea that something is "less bad" "not as bad as something else"

Catholics have criteria for mortal and venial sins. Mortal sins have 3 criteria -it's a serious matter -the sinner realizes the seriousness of the matter and the harm that will be caused by the sin. -the sinner freely commits the sin anyway. (words sin and sinner also not mine) So lustful thoughts usually would not be mortal, things like gossiping could be either depending on conditions. I do agree the criteria for mortal sins implicates "more bad" -

Flake out and the wife will do it? Since that's what sisters do, we don't need caretakers. -
I didn't mean "you" specifically just people who really hate theri job and do it anyway. Sorry if it sounds like I was picking at specific you, I meant generic you, so glad you Sinansencer are not a slave and slave owner. I'm not either. Nursing would be a good option if you want flexible hours or an option to supplement your income.

If you think working 50 hours per week is wage slavery and you do it anyway, then you are both the slave and the slave owner.

Money is really a silly thing people made up. It is kind of nice that if you give people money, they will do helpful practical things for you like fix your car, trim your trees and bring you food. No one needs money though, money in and of itself is intrinsically useless. -
Intelligence being used for rationalising, defending, explaining, justifying

We listen to intelligence and deny intuition. Overthink things and hack them up.
