Letting things come and go we try so hard to hold on we can't hold on worn out from trying torn away or let go and drift ends the same

Might be wise to stay silent, but I really don't know.

Dreams of immortality. Is it endless sensory deprivation in the abyss? Liberation or suffering of it's own? No pleasures, no pain, all things are one, you are one alone. You exist for a little longer, waiting, persevering in contentment for eternity.

I hear it used to be a good place for circle walking practice. My uncle had fairly menial job on exchange walking all day in a circle taking slips of paper from traders and doing something with them. All day long walking in circles, he thought it was a really boring job, all computerized now. I think they should add that to the protest. It might be an attainable goal to bring back guys walking around all day in circles and it would probably as positive and beneficial to the world economy as anything else that might happen.

Atum is an old old god who is self created. So going in as falcon Horus (many generation later fiery warrior sun god aspect) coming back as Benu. Fire into water going back to the start. Atum-Ra-Horus, what is the word? Apech knows, syncretic? Combining the gods, sometimes they're different sometimes the same, evolving gods. I'd like to love to hear Apech's take on syncretism, don't really understand it but I think I like it this fluidity to deities.

yeah, you said it backward, the filaments are contracted rather than stretched, actin and myosin filaments can't or won't unlock, but still forceful stretching can tear the area so application same. Also nutrition can be an issue with spasms, mild dehydration, low calcium, magnesium and potassium all can contribute on cellular level to muscle spasms. Otherwise I think you absolutely said everything right in the thread! Thanks to all for the resources, maybe will see if can get on wait list for Foundation book at the library (I am cheap).

Okay, I will answer the questionnaire too. I am curious to learn of other's definition and understand of the source of love. What process or method did you use to find it? I didn't use a method, being open to life experiences, like the terminology someone used heart awakening, even opening, but an uncontrollable physical thing, not something I tried to make happen. Has it become a constant for you? yes Have you discovered other aspects after or before the heart center and what were they? not before and not done yet so not after, so it is a process but not a process I used. I hope to use this thread to aid in the correlations of varying processes, so that we might become even more accepting of various paths. I know many here may be beyond such things which leads me to a final question if this is true for you. What was the key to this acceptance of others and mutual respect that is evident among the modest and understanding? accepting others- getting to know people, individuals from all different cultures and social backgrounds, people who aren't like me but as I get to know them we have common ground as I understand their perspective they are like me but still different. Do you go out of your way to reword things so that others wont take offence? Does it come naturally? Or is it simply part of the critical thinking process that occurs with the phenomena of words? yes, but not always good at it. Now I have question for those who feel love? HAve you told people you love them? Not necessarily strangers, but family, friends and acquaintances who you definitely feel love for (but not romantic love). Have you told individuals you love them and why? Hard to do and maybe easier for women to pull off than men, but interesting and beneficial to do. Also interesting how hard it is for people to listen and believe they are loved, but I believe it's something we should tell and something we should hear. Love you all.

oh, seasons and emotions are ways to see how wuxing flows. I found once I knew the cycles without looking at a chart a lot of patterns in life became apparent. I don't know the organ spirits without looking at a reference though, I think the article itself is true to Taoism, but application more Buddhist. Except for chakra correspondences, I don't think element have chakra correspondences.

It's Taoist psychology- and it works.

Thanks, good article. I know water as fear and metal as sorrow or grief. How about applying creative destructive cycles to emotions or mind sets? Like fear (water) leads to anger (wood), but metal (sorrow) destroys anger.

So What does Tao say about attachment/desire

Enjoy it while it last, but it won't and that is okay. -
I think a path depends on how your brain works. I never could get from a to b to c to d to e. Only from hopelessly confused stuck at a, then I would have an epiphany and go from a to e and only then be able to backtrack and see how b,c and d fit in. Formal education does not favor people with intuitive brains. I have a kid with a brain like mine, we screw up don't get it, spaced out staring out the window or doodling on a piece of paper when when we're supposed to be trying to understand piddly stuff. Then somehow we understand everything right, even the piddly stuff, and we're gifted and talented, til the next time when we don't get it at all not working up to our potential. Ever train for sports or performing arts? In early stages learning and getting better in a linear fashion we learn basics step by step and develop skills and consistently getting better, but then most people plateau stuck stuck stuck not getting better. Actually, a lot of learning consolidation at those plateaus and as we become more elite start to learn that if we keep working and trying different things we'll get through the plateau and breakout to a stage where it all comes together again til stuck again. So eventually some things have to happen by epiphany, some parts don't have steps. It is all the same path, whether we take it off road or by steps.

mmm...those are the best kind.

Don't think I have much natural ability. Everything I ever got good at was only through reams of practice. What are you doing at 3 am?

It was a weird feeling month, but the tension feels over. Don't think anything major happened or is going to happen next few days, but not completely sure you're wrong either.

My favorite place to train that I got the most out was a Japanese karate school. This is out of kung fu, aikido,a little taekwondo and taiji. I'd like to learn more application in taiji instead of just the form, but the location was not convenient. But my point is even though karate was probably not the "best martial art," the school and teacher were terrific. Lots of military, ex-military and law enforcement trained there so picked up some very practical self defense- and good friends to have. So my suggestion would be check out places that are convenient for you and go watch or see if you can train a little and get idea of how it fits with the gist of what you want from training , rather than picking an art and feeling like you have go where you can learn the one you picked.

http://www.zappos.com/minnetonka-double-deerskin-softsole-natural~1 I have a couple pairs of the womans versions of these. Not that cheap, but cheaper than vibrams, I no longer wear any gym or running shoes other than vibrams, old running shoes feel like trying to run in clogs now.

I like my nature relatively technology free. But I am ridiculous, lived just fine with no cell phone for over 30 years, this morning left it at home and felt like I lost an appendage. You are right though, technology could be seen as like nature, stock market and cities too. For a long time, we made assumption that economies would grow forever. And the urban planners never considered how to adapt cities for shrinking populations.

I don't think technology will be our salvation. I don't see people building a utopia, eradicating pain and suffering or becoming immortal. If anything it hurts my heart to see us living more and more apart from nature and real human connections with each other. I think we'll probably continue to sputter along for a while and someday the whole human race will be gone. But I really don't see that any of that as cause for despair. Tomorrow is going to be a beautiful day. Looking forward to doing some gardening. Friends coming over and trying to think of some good food to make for everyone. Life's not perfect, but it has some perfect parts.

Trying to extend barefoot season for another month or 2 if I can.

I live because of life and someday will die because of death. I live in a positive and caring way to the best of my ability because I see it as the right way to live. In death I do not expect to see some eternal truth. Atheism does not = nihilism, perhaps it could, but I think we should be better than that. You think caring about the environment or peace for civilization should be contingent on some sort of reward or punishment for doing so?

Pretty much if it's a straight up pushing contest between 2 people same body type. But lots of variation since we are living moving beings. Depends on vectors of force too. Low center of gravity can give advantage as Mythmaker stated, you need good leg strength to lower set and push out of that low position though. Also a tall person can still win without going lower. I can shift within my root more than a shorter person even if I can't get lower. If I can shift so they have to start to extend themself to step then it becomes easy to help them keep on going.
