Because I secretly get off on the adrenaline rush of doing it at the last minute, it's a way to make a tedious task exciting.

I think fear is the opposite of compassionate love rather than emotional love. Emotional love can even cause fear, we feel both at the same time, we love the person but we're afraid they don't love us back, or we'll get hurt, or they'll stop loving us back. But without attachment, perfect love casteth out fear.

Off Topic: Anyone Else From The USA Scared For Their Life?

Much of the selling is overdone, stock prices are back to 2003 levels, but gas is not 2$ and housing values have not decreased by half, good and sevice prices are not back to 2003 levels. I believe it's more of an opportunity to start nibbling once it stabilizes a little, if you did not get out before the bottom don't do so now, it will get better- and on the chance it degrades into utter chaos money might be worthless anyway. -
It does seem a little unfair. People have been banned for criticizing Max and the Kunlun seminars, which are also something that must be paid for. I haven't bought Li Jiong's program or even done the free trial, but it doesn't seem so bad, it's a complete system with online support that you can do from home and no need to travel or pay extra for additional practices- right?

Pesto with cheddar cheese on toast- my daily snack lately.

Usually when we turn on the light we see whatever was scary about the darkness was no big deal and feel a little silly. People are so afraid of the dark that in many places you can hardly see the stars at night any more. I miss the darkness. Though my soul may set in darkness, It will rise in perfect light, I have loved the stars too fondly To be fearful of the night. ~Sarah Williams

I certainly wouldn't do both at the same time (fasting and intense muscle work). It sort of depends how you do it- a light fast can be beneficial, part of the reason people have difficulty with diets is we put our bodies into starvation made, especially when you eat sporadically, when you eat like that the anthropological program is to think food is scarce and you should really put on reserves when you get some, better to eat regularly don't starve yourself, eat small frequent meals healthy food and increase your activity level, you want your body to think there's plenty of food, but be ready to run from tigers Same with intense training you can get good results you can get injured easily too, explosive techniques and power lifting- if you're an elite athlete you might need them to break thru plateaus, but for health and fitness a slower safer approach might be better. You can get repetitive strain injury continuing to exercise well past fatigue with running swimming whatever so you need to listen to your body. All the above holds true even for young fairly healthy people of course if you have health problems more complicated and more precautions.

Try piriformis stretches- frequent cause of sciatic pain, may clear it right up. http://www.thestretchinghandbook.com/archi...is-syndrome.php

Mine is probably unique, I can spin around on roller skates. Took the kids last night and I hadn't been for a long time, so I tried not tense up so much and let my body do what it needed to- and pretty soon I was doing really good, kids would fall down and I'd do the little spin around thing to check on them- I don't think I could do that when I was a teenager! So to make it a little more applicable- might be something to tap into to improve automaticity of motor coordination, learning and memory.

Trees are about standing still in the flow. I find it hard to stand still and quiet for an hour meditation, they are an inspiration- patient and abiding.

I like Steve's post, but it is necessary to do bills and laundry at some point. I read somewhere that a goal of organization is not to be perpetually busy, but to put dull but necessary tasks on autopilot so you can then relax and enjoy leisure time without having guilt or anxiety over laundry or bills nagging at the back of your mind. I'm not always good at it myself, but taking care of these mundane manners in an orderly fashion does seem much more Tao than last minute stress and rushing around. Even some of the pop feng shui books (maybe someone here will have rec for a really good one) help with motivation- an environment with minimal mess and clutter does feel a lot better and it can be helpful to think of the process of making it so as a spiritual pursuit.

Thanks Craig- but I feel much better now. I practice Dayan qigong also which seems like it fits nicely with Kunlun practice- I saw that Jenny Lam teaches both- usually I so the qigong first then the Kunlun practice- when I can, I really am a soccer mom so I have to practice late after kids definitely sleeping or get up early morning- I usually hit the snooze instead for that one. I'd definitely recommend the 16$ book- I've been practicing from the book just about a couple weeks and definitely feeling some benefits from it. Marie

Okay here's my soccer mom questions. I'll put it here so not to clog up the board. I bought the 16$ book, no seminar or anything so sounds like I can't use the official kunlun forum. Have been practicing when I can a couple weeks. If my hand move around, am I supposed to put them back in the starting position after they move or just let it go. I've been feeling pretty good and good effects til today, umm pms, sorry guys, I am really mean today- hopefully I am just purging some things? Well traditional karate class tonight, good thing I need acceptable excuse to hit someone! thanks!

Also, it might be good for you to drink more fluids and get more potassium (grapefruit, bananas, orange juice are good for that).

Okay then, I will barely make it within the 6 hours

The vagus nerve and the female orgasm

Drew, sorry if this has been asked before. What about for women, in your theory? Would we benefit from sitting in full lotus or how? thanks. -
It's not Taoist, but Feldenkrais techniques are great for body awareness and symmetry. Here's series of free lessons. http://www.flowingbody.com/pastlow.htm

Life is a sexually transmitted, and fatal disease.

Those are excellent tips! Also bring your attention to your vision, don't turn inward so you're barely aware of your surroundings, don't be over focused and try to hold things in place, simply be aware of your surroundings and see everything slide by as you move.

Ankle Problem, Possible to heal without surgery?
zanshin replied to Mal#2's topic in General Discussion
Other than miraculous healing, a hard part to rehabilitate with a complete tear. There's not enough muscle there to strengthen to stabilize the part and without surgery strenuous activity would be likely blow it out again and make it even worse.
