The eight forces of nature speak
soaring crane replied to Harmonious Emptiness's topic in Daoist Discussion
I like the how you used the word 'speak'. They speak to each other, that's an interesting way to view it. What do they speak about, I wonder? -
One "issue" I have with this site.
soaring crane replied to TheExaltedRonin's topic in Daoist Discussion
btw, the forums a brimming with Daoist discussions. Any thread that has anything to do with DDJ, yin/yang, five elements, wu wei, wuji, Qigong/Taiji/Bagua etc, MCO, Dantien, meridians, Yijing, Immortals, Neijing, TCM, acupoints, healing sounds, Feng Shui, and a host of other inherently Daoist topics, is Daoist in nature. Daoist practice is a lot more than navel gazing and book club discussions. And this is why I chastised you earlier for claiming you 'put it all into practice'. -
Problems in the Visualization of the Microcosmic Orbit
soaring crane replied to Fer's topic in General Discussion
There are sooooo many ways to go about this 'MCO' stuff. The issue of visualization isn't that difficult - you don't need it, and it can distract you. You don't need to think of colors, or try to see anything, or even feel anything. That doesn't mean these things are inherently negative, but they can add unnecessarily to the number of things that you have to try to keep under control, and perhaps will wish to analyze. You do need to relax, though, and don't worry, don't overthink it. The Qi will fill the vessels without your aid. Your task lies in removing the obstacles, at which point, active MCO meditation isn't necessary at all. But since you want to do it, and why the heck not, for beginning practice, you can try simply inhaling up the spine, and letting go and focusing on Huiyin on the exhale. That's it. It can be that simple. Keep the tongue on the upper palate (keep it soft and 'swollen' feeling), keep huiyin very, very slightly lifted. Try doing it standing and also sitting on a chair... Of all the books I have, I find Tom Bisio's description to be very approachable in his book 'Decoding the Dao', maybe give it a try? -
My first post was 'hahahahahaha!', because I love it when this guy shows up in a thread, even if it's by proxy. All the resulting one-liners have proven my initial point. It's a toss-up for me between The Grand Wizard of Odd and Alex 'I can cure the handicaps' Chiu. I love them both equally, I guess.

Thoughts on Ukraine / Russia Debacle?!
soaring crane replied to DalTheJigsaw123's topic in The Rabbit Hole
No, no, that's not what I meant, TM. It was a glib joke meaning that the scenario you described in the US would most certainly end with gunshots, as opposed to the Ukraine. -
Hahahaha! :-)

I do it much differently now, and may write about it later, but what I wanted to say is that I now know who Aetherous is, thanks :-)

soaring crane replied to DalTheJigsaw123's topic in The Rabbit Hole
I was with your analogy right up to that *point ;-) Also, the loose way they use terms like 'annexation' reveals much about the western press, none of it good. *it's just too far-fetched. No shots fired? No way -

Learn the rules, forget the rules. Return to the rules only once and then leave them forever. It's pretty rare to find someone here claiming to be 'Taoist', perhaps out of respect for Taoists. That's true in my case anyway. -

They did a good job, clearly! Thank you for your usual high-quality insights :-) That first video makes me feel uncomfortable. Re the idea that western Europe doesn't have the backbone to stand up to Putin (and all the varieties on the theme), it has to do with not having bombs eventually dropped on our cities and villages. -

The information in the thread with the 7 7 facts that sound like fiction mentions something that has been very significant for me for quite a while. I'm talking about the 90 percent of the body being of non-human origin. Ninety percent of us is bacteria and and other microbial life. And these 'critters' have an intelligence, an intelligence so vast that it permeates the entire planet. I assume they have an agenda, too. When I look for 'God' these dsys, I look inside. -
would you be willing to take me on as an student?

haha, cool stuff :-) This blew my mind when I first learned it: 67. There is 10 times more bacteria in your body than actual body cells. 68. And 90% of the cells that make us up of aren’t human but mostly fungi and bacteria. It still does. And: 71. Turtles can breathe out of their butts. I know a few Yogis who can do that! Also, of course I had to try the humming thing... PS - they could add a joke fact: a man's penis is three times the length of his thumb and after a few lines, added: right now, men are looking at their thumbs -
Yes, emoticons just aren't a satisfactory ersatz for full-on body language, are they?

There's this teeny-tiny spark in my lower belly, and when I turn my gaze inward, I see the whole freaking universe there. When I feel the need to, I can retreat to this secret place and just smile. In other developments, it wasn't long ago that I found an equally teeny-tiny spark in the middle of my brain. That's about it for bang zoom so far.

That's a pretty crowded emptiness!
