  1. They're two different functions. You can either link to an online image by just copying the URL, clicking the image-icon in the editing tools above (or, hit ctrl-L on a Windows computer) and paste the URL. That image will display full-sized. But when you upload from your harddrive, it'll display as a (too small, in my opinion) thumbnail. My question above is about this 'feature'. Would be nice if the thumbs were at about double the size they are now.
  2. is there a way to upload images and have them display full-size instead of thumbnails?
  3. Colors of Dragons

    Yellow/Gold
  4. Colors of Dragons

    year??? also - location
  5. Other Forums ?

TTB has sort of weathered the storms and come ashore while all the other larger forums have sunk down to the murky depths of history. YMAA (Yang Jwing Ming's publishing house) had pretty discussion forums a while back, but I don't think they're very active anymore, either. There may be some yahoo groups that meet your desires. Go there and try a few different search terms. But, in a nutshell, TTB is your best bet today.
  6. Colors of Dragons

what's your birthday (and time)? << ---- by the way, golden dragon lol
  7. Tao no-thing or nothing?

Max Planck had a thing or two to say about this stuff, if I recall correctly.
  8. The Tao Bums Chatroom

All alone... 9pm in central European time... Good time for me :-)
  9. The Tao Bums Chatroom

    I'll go now
  10. One would be enough lol :-) Seems to be a synergistic evening for me. There's a conversation at a friend's Facebook page right now on just this subect.
  11. Tao no-thing or nothing?

My gut response: there's no difference between no-thing and nothing, and John Chang is right. Wuji is stasis, deader than dead. It doesn't really exist. It didn't even pre-date the big bang, if indeed it ever occurred. In attaining Dao, we attain insight. Also, English isn't the best language for interpreting these things.
  12. There's no such thing as 'scientific proof'. In fact, it's an oxymoron. Or maybe a juxtaposition. In any event, it isn't the role of science to 'prove' or 'disprove' diddly poo.
  13. Question on doing cleansing ceremony on roof

Can I make one small point? You don't have to do the work directly on the roof. Doing it at the spot it happened would be psychologically significant perhaps, but spiritually it doesn't make a difference, and could also work against you if you don't feel secure and safe. Good luck :-)
  14. The Tao Bums Chatroom

I've checked in the last couple days - nice :-)
  15. A Holotropic Breathwork Experience

Could you give the basic gist of the methods please? Thanks :-)
  16. And animals. They respond very well to healing work
  17. I respectfully announce my resignation from the Dojo...

Hmmm... The vibe coming from your OP is pretty aggressive in itself (feels so to me, anyway). Without knowing more of the story, it sounds like an overreaction to their suggestion, indicating exactly what you seem to have identified in yourself. That's pretty interesting.
  18. Loving my flaws, gratitude for the broken...

Ever hear of the Gibson Les Paul? Same thing. Owners know what I mean
  19. Meditation Cover in Time Magazine

regarding the meditation cover - was it necessary to use THAT kind of image? Really? A fake, plastic-female to express mindfulness?
  20. Meditation Cover in Time Magazine

writing as one living in 'the rest of the world' - THAT is a very revealing list, thank you SoG! It's soooo accurate, and explains soooo much. My mother (from New York) comes for a visit (to Germany) once a year and usually has a couple magazines with her, including TIME. It's embarrassing to see what passes for journalism in the US today. The articles are dumbed-down (or simply written by dumb people who don't know any better) for an audience that's clearly disinterested in any but the most superficial of subjects and presumably incapable of devoting the attention required to appreciate a story on more than one level. I actually had a kind of existential crisis while flipping through a Redbook or Family Circle magazine. It was sooooo stupid, so blatantly commercial and just idiotic, that at that moment, I knew my connections to the USA had been permanently severed. It threw me into a three or four day depression. Crazy eh?
  21. What made YOU laugh today/tonight ?

If a Buddhist asks to borrow your computer so s/he can send an email, say, 'ok, but no attachments'
  22. It Is Not Dao

THAT is not Tao. THIS is Tao. And Tao taos. And that's about it.
  23. Who can remember past lifes?

One of the most profound was a simple life as a school teacher in colonial America. I was female and madly in love with my husband, experienced sex from female perspective, and motherhood... Helps me understand women more accurately today. Many of my histories involved being either a monk or a soldier. Explains my problems with money today haha
