Christmas / Holiday lists everyone? ;)
soaring crane replied to BaguaKicksAss's topic in General Discussion
The members of one of my groups totally blew my mind. They gave me a huge, thick Sauna towel and a 75euro gift certificate for my favorite spa, totally unexpected. They must love me :-) 'Hoping' for nothing. I ask people to make donations in my name, that kind of thing. For my 50th!we set up a collection box to by lamas for Peruvian famlies. Brought in about 800euro and donated all of it. For Christmas, the only thing I look forward to for myself is the bottle of Zwack Unicum that I know my wife is going to buy me :-) good stuff, puts hair on your chest (and maybe on the furniture if you spill sny) -
In Germany look for "Fan Huan Gong" nach Prof. Cong, an excellent and "urig" Qigong Form.

'Our' castle is called the Plassenburg. Here's a nearby castle with religious significance: That's the Wartburg, in Eisenach, where Martin Luther translated the New Testament into German, triggering a 30-year war and a lot of other stuff...

thanks That Pnut is really amazing, dayum. And looks like a very gentle soul, too. Good son-in-law material.

I spent a weekend with Peruvian shaman doing this kind of exercise. Peruvian Qigong is strong stuff. I don't practice it, though, because I think it burns you up. How long do those Tibetans live anyway? My winter warm-up Qigong is Swimming Dragon, with strong focus on the 3H. -

NO! You're not worthy and you never will be. Loser. (kidding, of course, you have have a legit question and what you're asking is all any of us really want but will apparently never get. Go to youtube and search John Chang, and amazon Magus of Java)

I have a screenshot on my phone showing 6 or 7 of the accursed things. MP threads, I mean. I don't know how to post images from my phone.

The emptiness that can be debunked is not the true emptiness. The bunk that can fill a void is not pure bunk.

Wow, that is gorgeous! Thank you for sharing it. Never seen that before, not at that level. It almost looks like cgi, but if it were, nobody'd believe it.

Sorry, that was a little glib on my part. Moving out of the USA had a huge effect on me. Took a while for me to appreciate it all but the change was profound, not in small part due to the closeness to my ancestral roots.

That seems to be a common complaint at amazon. here's the website (that I know of) http://www.internalartsinternational.com/ I tried to join but got error messages from paypal. Regarding the mix up with 'Daoist meditation', Neigong, Yangsheng and Neidan, this is what he writes on pg 6: "Daoist meditation, sometimes called Nei Gong or "inner exercise" is often considered to be more efficacious [than qigong] in replenishing the vital essences of the body and was traditionally seen as a kind of internal alchemy that changed the body from the inside-out.' ... "Once a state of good health is achieved, Daoist longevity practices known collectively as Yang Sheng or "life nourishing methods" can be employed to replenish one's primordial Qi up to and even beyond the level one had at birth" I don't have a problem with the Yangsheng usage but I'd be more than happy to be educated on the matter and, either I have a blind spot or he doesn't use 'Neidan' until he writes about elixir later in the book with afaik is correct. That's how I use the word when I use it. I guess, from that short passage, a reader could come away with the impression that "Daoist meditation" and "Neigong" are synonymous, though. He could have written it the other way around ie 'Neigong is a subcategory of Daoist meditation'(?). So another question: Till now, I've understood Neigong simply to be the catch-all term for the internal work, especially from the Daoist martial side, but with many many branches. It comes up mainly when I'm at Chansijing workshops. But it seems to me like Tao Bums speak of Neigong as a more specific system, like a form unto itself. Maybe I just misunderstand the conversation at the forum? PS - I had opened the Namba Aruki links in a separate tab and just looked at them now. Good stuff! :-) http://www.tofugu.co...i-samurai-walk/ http://www.tofugu.co...es/namba-aruki/

Are those books still in print somewhere? I loaned mine out years ago and never saw them again. Actually, I do have the third one but that one's just annoying. -
Woah, awesome thread, thanks for digging this up, Leif!
