Awesome members trim superfluous text when they quote someone, especially if the original quote is 5,000+ words, contains seven images, eleven links and three youtube embeds, and the only thing you want to add is 'Great post!' (a pet peeve of mine, and the TTB'ers are somehow especially fond of this one). -

this was most certainly nothing but a cynical marketing campaign, timed for Cyber Monday. And it seems to have worked! Why do I say cynical? Because they just assumed that it work for them. They count on people's gullibility to do their marketing for them, saves a hell of a lot of resources (=$$$). This stunt was in every major newspaper in the English language, and German, too, for free

Is there a taoist technique for sexual transmutation?
soaring crane replied to Ryan94's topic in General Discussion
No, not specifically, but my point was that the levels you're attracted to take a loooong time to reach and you really have to start at the start or you'll wander through an endless labyrinth without ever achieving your goal, and could very well doing yourself more harm than good. In fact, if you take a more conservative approach, start at the roots, you may well see your goals change and become something attainable. What's wrong with Mantak Chia is precisely that:he gives people the false impression that they can go places they aren't ready to go. But it's just my view. There'll be more on the way, I'm sure. PS - that was a reply to this "Does Roger Jahnke's book describe how to do sexual transmutation and/or allow the flow of stagnant qi around the groin? " -

 Ryan, there is absolutely no chance anyone here or anywhere else can put that in a nutshell for your easy consumption. I suggest staring the journey by familiarising yourself with more mainstream, everyday qigong practices. Look for classes in your area and read a few good books (not Mantak Chia). Look up Roger Jahnke's book 'The healing promise of Qi', it's a fantastic introduction that also goes into some pretty deep levels of practice. Regardless of what path you take, the quick an easy thoughts are going to be a hindrance to your progress. -

When I teach (Various Qigong long forms, but not Taiji), I sometimes say, 'ok, now I'll make it easier for you, we'll do it a couple times quickly .... '. But the real challenge for people is always doing things slowly and attentively, intently.

Yes, but 'modern' CM has been touched by western awareness, I'm more curious about ancient CM and if they also recognized the glands. They described the endocrine system to a T based on... observation? Did they know about the glands? And also the appearance of the adrenals in the embryo as Taomeow described. Do they show up concurrently with the kidneys? Another embryonic question - I'd always assumed that the first cells to develop are those which connect the embryo to the mother. But I'm wondering when those actually appear. When does the umbilical state begin? Would be interesting to know as I meditate on this and going to a physical state previous to the umbilical would be change some things.

there already is a picture post thread, it's great! re the Jewish memorial - unfortunately, it seems to have tarnished my view of the pic you posted. It's quite a heavy experience walking through it. It's in the middle of the city, with lot's of hustle and bustle, noise everywhere. But as you begin walking into the center of the memorial, you go deeper and deeper, it goes downhill toward the middle, while at the same time, those concrete slabs, which could obviously be seen as grave stones, or prison walls, get bigger, higher, more imposing. And the sound of the city becomes muffled, distanced. The weight sinks in and you (well, I) feel it very poignantly. And it gets darker ... and the paths through it aren't straight lines, you can feel lost, trapped. If you go in with a friend or a group and you go different paths, you lose track of each other very quickly and begin looking forward to exiting on the other side. The thing is brilliant, one of the best art works I've ever experienced.
