I can ask around for you :-) Two Austrians visit us here in Germany every year. Their seminars are always great.

bam!

Hello cko, and welcome to the forums! Glad you found your way to us. I've trained with a few Austrians in my time and have always enjoyed the depth of their knowledge and their solid pedagogic approach. I think you have a very high caliber selection of teachers down there :-) Please take the time to read the two posts pinned at the top of this Welcome page and take a look at the forum terms and rules. This covers all you need to know when getting started. For the first week you will be restricted to ten posts per day but after that you can post as much as you like. Also, until you’ve posted fifteen times in the forums, you’ll be a “Junior Bum” with somewhat restricted access and will be allowed only two private messages per day. Good luck in your pursuits and best wishes to you, SC and the TDB team

and if there really is no mystery? No mystery no fun. Right? That's all it boils down to, as I see it. Some people feel compelled, for whatever reason, to fart around with things, just to keep their minds occupied before their expiration date arrives, I guess.
-
Was a sincere question. Why?
-
Having trouble quoting from my phone. Why make it mysterious and incomprehensible when the reality can be so simple and elegant and organic?
-
I know this isn't what you're asking for but I think everything uttered in the present continuous form (I am doing) is false and a good source of befuddlement.

actually, my comment about being hosts for microorganisms was meant quite literally and the microbiome dominates my beliefs these days. The bacterial cells in this animated sack outnumber the human cells by a factor of about ten to one. The crazy thing is, roughly the same ratio is true for everything that lives. And that microbiome has been the dominant, arguably the only, lifeform on planet Earth since the Ursoup first bubbled. Our consciousness is their consciousness, our intelligence is their intelligence, our will to survive is their will to survive, and everything we perceive is perceived through their viewpoint. Kind of like God, you know? And the illusion is alot more organic than most people realize. For me, this opens a vast, profound and awesome realm of possibilities.

I believe our only "purpose" is to function as useful hosts for microorganisms. Beyond that, life is what you make of it while you have the chance. And we only get one chance.

That's an excellent idea, yes. I do it all the time with my own groups, should have thought about it here. I know a few other things as well that I can write later.

Hello Dominik, and welcome to the forums! Glad you found your way to us. I happen live on the other side of the mountains, across from Pilsen :-) I wish you success in your search for the answers to your situation. In the meantime, I'd suggest stopping all the high-energy meditation work you've picked up from Mantak Chia. Maybe put those books on a shelf for a while. the in-house search function isn't the greatest. I get the best results by going to google and searching something like: thedaobums: trees Still not perfect, though

How is this guy putting animals to sleep using Qigong?
soaring crane replied to Oneironaut's topic in Daoist Discussion
Had to look into that: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chicken_hypnotism Youtube has a few example, natch -
Hello and welcome -- that's an intriguiing introduction and I have to admit I don't quite follow what it is you do. I'm assuming the "orthopedic surgeon" part is meant metaphorically. Is that correct?

That would explain why I fall asleep in church! I think your explanation comes closest btw -

Some inspiration for the non-animal eaters among us: http://www.peta.org/living/other/vegan-ultrarunner-patrick-sweeney/ “I am a big proponent of high-fat, high-carb diet and don’t really worry about protein,” Sweeney said. “The mornings would start with a couple cups of the darkest, most bitter coffee I could make and a few peanut butter sandwiches.” He's kind of a virtual friend of mine, through running forums and facebook, and somewhat sponsored by Barefoot Ted McDonald and his Luna Sandals company.

Beer-swilling, vegan, Forrest Gump
soaring crane replied to soaring crane's topic in The Rabbit Hole
No, I'm not vegan, or even completely vegetarian. But Falafel Kebabs rule! And where they're not available, Feta Cheese to the rescue :-) I've read some pretty horrible things about British Kebap. We have a lot of them here, at least five in my little town alone, and the product is superb. I always order the "DĂĽrum", the wrap-style, because it has less bread and more filler (shredded marinated red and white cabbage, carrot, lettuce, tomato, onion, plus whatever the particular kabap guy has in his assortment, and falafel or goat cheese... hot red pepper ... heaven). I could probably get by eating vegan, but it's too much work and I don't want my food preferences to play too central a role in my day to day, you know? Patrick lives on Manhattan Beach in California and is virtually wading chest-deep through mounds of fresh produce all year round, and it's cheap. I live in the Bavarian countryside where the Sunday pork roast is a holy institution and you can't bring a child to a supermarket without having a free Wiener stuffed into the little one's hands. So we all make our little compromises along the path ...
