My path/Lineage/internal art is better than yours.......
soaring crane replied to kudos100's topic in Daoist Discussion
"been to" and "looking into" denote two different activities, and give two different perspectives. There's a huuuuuuge overlap between Chinese Daoist and Buddhist schools and there are virtually no purely-Daoist schools out there anymore. So, maybe the squabbling comes from the Buddhist influence? (kidding!) Regardless, and dropping the Daoist vs Buddhist angle (see how that happens, btw? You started one of them in your OP), the lineage wars do become tedious and imo are a blind path that too many practitioners walk. Avoid it at all costs. Been to Dharma Wheel yet? -

But which mammal's mamma-milk do they drink in Iceland? Reindeer? Sheep? Walrus? I'm sure they eat a LOT of fish products, as well, and the omega oils keep the brain well-lubed (there's been success recently in using it to stimulate brain activity and bring people out of coma). Also, and more importantly, how are the Icelanders rated on the global aura-seeing scale? :-) Life expectancy depends on mountains of factors, using it as an argument pro or contra one dietary variant is a bit shaky, says I. -

not making any assumptions regarding the causes or symptoms, but it's a real condition: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pineal_gland#Clinical_significance -
Of course you can develop a Daoist view of your world, anybody can. I suggest beginning by observing nature and spending as much time in nature as possible. And try to develop the ability to remain non-judgemental, of yourself, of others and of the natural world. And start a Daoist practice like Qigong (with focus on the philosophical principles behind the practice). Read a few books, but focus mainly on the experiential, keeping the intellectual/academic on the periphery.

Hello Christopher, and welcome to the forums! Glad you found your way to us. I'd be very interested in the history of your Aspergers diagnosis and treatments, and your experiences with the syndrome. A good friend of mine and her son "have it", but she and he are quite content. She's an exellent naturopath and he's a computer programmer. That's a nice one. What about potential? -
That's very succint and just the kind of statement I treasure. Says a lot more than the script of the video in question. Point about psychopaths and Wall Street is short-sighted, in my opinion and limited experience with these types of people. Cold, calculating types might do a thorough job of "re-structuring" (and getting a good night's sleep afterwards) but they have difficulties staying in one place for long because at the end of the day, business is social interaction, comparable to an extended family, and the large majority of players do not want psychopaths among their ranks. Personal financial advisers with these tendencies also lose clients comparitively quickly (like I said, in my limited experience, but I could share a few anecdotes) because they inevitably serve their own interests and their clients are generally not stupid people.

was the path of love too difficult to follow? Find internal paths.

wow, before today, I'd never heard of the woman. Now I'm aware of a whole movement surrounding her and find myself wishing to restore my previous state of being.

wow, manitu, awesome work there! You get a medal for that

oh, this could be a huge undertaking and honestly not something you're going to get from someone who simply phrases it in a way that you can relate to. I suggest searching out good, solid Taiji (or Bagua if it's available in your area) instruction. These things can't be incorporated on an intellectual level, they have absolutely got to be experienced on the physical plane, and to do that properly, you need live instruction, no exceptions. The written material on these subjects that will contain the hard information you're looking for are going to be written for practitioners who already have a good amount of experience. (edit: and even then, as TT indicates above, they're not going to be complete). Maybe you could narrow your search down a little, to something very specific?

Hello aaron, and welcome to the forums! Glad to have you here, I hope you find what you're looking for, but I want to make clear that we're a very eclectic group and everyone is entitled to express his/her opinion on any subject. Meaning, you may well receive more than one perspective on subjects you might wish were a little more straighforward :-) Please take the time to read the two posts pinned at the top of this Welcome page and take a look at the forum terms and rules.
