Deep tests of faith, trust and initiation
soaring crane replied to skydog's topic in General Discussion
Where are you headed with all this, Dog? Do you know? I've a number of 'trials by fire' in my life and they tought me to let go of fears and develop faith. Faith in what, I don't really know. But I think the not knowing, not defining, is very important. -
Don't believe Dawei. There wasn't any money involved

Hello Laozu, and welcome to the forums! Please take the time to read the two posts pinned at the top of this Welcome page and take a look at the forum terms and rules. This covers all you need to know when getting started. For the first week you will be restricted to ten posts per day but after that you can post as much as you like. Also, until you’ve posted fifteen times in the forums, you’ll be a “Junior Bum” with somewhat restricted access and will be allowed only two private messages per day. Good luck in your pursuits and best wishes to you, SC and the TTB team

What's the best thing you learned from taoism?
soaring crane replied to Perceiver's topic in Daoist Discussion
Because they're the end result of long, complex processes. Diamonds are pretty simple, too. -
Not from Nazareth, then?

same here haha (actually, I think I've pictured him more as Wickie, a similar character from a children's cartoon about Wickinger)

jeepers. My wife just came in to show me how I had hung my cargo shorts wrong after washing them. She stormed off, I looked down, and there was this post. HAHAHAHA! -

That should be bored games, perhaps? ha. ha.

huh. That's less common in my experience. The pedants usually want the right hand on the LDT and the left hand over the top. The other variation is women have the left hand on top, men the right hand. Personally, I think it's just dogmatic and it's better to let the intuition guide the posture. Being left-handed/right-handed has to affect the energy flow to begin with, and then there's a whole long history of development behind each individual adult human which affects the energetic body. (did a dumb thing with my morning session. D/L'd a zazen timer app yesterday and programmed it incorrectly. Thought I had it set for 20 minutes but it was 120 minutes! I started getting antsy and thinking there must be something wrong after about 35 minutes of standing. Was late for work, geesh)
