Every Taiji class and seminar I've attended has had a martial focus.

If you practice sitting meditation, which position do you use?
soaring crane replied to Vitalii's topic in Daoist Discussion
I like that. Squatting is a natural position for human animals. Except for kneeling, none of the traditional seated meditation positions are natural. Have you actually practiced squatting? Flatfooted with the butt all the way down? I've been working on it. -
I thought he only wrote the occasional haiku? There is some serious Bagua in Oz.

Hello king_1980, and welcome to the forums! Please take the time to read the two posts pinned at the top of the Lobby and take a look at the forum terms and rules http://thetaobums.co...um-terms-rules/ This covers all you need to know when getting started. For the first week you will be restricted to five posts per day but after that you can post as much as you like. Good luck in your pursuits and best wishes to you, maybe write a bit about your practice and what you did that you feel resolved your health issues? Sounds very interesting SC and the TTB team

I know the Shibashi very well, one of the sweetest forms out there There's quite an active Bagua community here, so first just look around a bit. Feel free to post in any forum you like, too. Which 'Neigong Forum' Banner Is Best...?
soaring crane replied to KenBrace's topic in The Rabbit Hole
I don't think neigong masters should be applying marketing tricks to lure passersby to their lairs. Quite the opposite in fact. -
I would actually like to see more done on the intentionally maligned 'placebo' effect. I know that pharmaceutical companies have libraries full of information which they keep strictly guarded. I think it's reasonable to assume they have also done many, many studies of 'alternative' methods, including energetic methods, and of course herbal and other natural medicines, and keep the results from leaking into the public. It's not just a hunch on my part. My mother and my wife both worked for one of the big ones, in positions that involved handling and processing/preparing studies for FDA approval. My mother especially worked very closely with the researchers and has talked openly about the problems they have with these things.

This guy sounds enlightened to me.

hmmm... I'm not 100% certain it wasn't. It's really not clear to me. -

Introduction and questions about chi

Hello PathToSelfImmortality, and welcome to the forums! Please take the time to read the two posts pinned at the top of the Lobby and take a look at the forum terms and rules http://thetaobums.co...um-terms-rules/ This covers all you need to know when getting started. For the first week you will be restricted to five posts per day but after that you can post as much as you like. Because it covers so much ground, I suggest re-posting your intro in the General Discussion forum. If you do, maybe you want break the text into a few paragraphs to make it easier to read? Good luck in your pursuits and best wishes to you, SC and the TTB team -
Hello oaffyone, and welcome to the forums! Please take the time to read the two posts pinned at the top of the Lobby and take a look at the forum terms and rules http://thetaobums.co...um-terms-rules/ This covers all you need to know when getting started. For the first week you will be restricted to five posts per day but after that you can post as much as you like. There are probably 1000s of references to the MCO at TTB, have a look around. You can of course start a thread in the forum of your choice - I'd suggest Taoist Discussion for that specific inquiry. Good luck in your pursuits and best wishes to you, SC and the TTB team

wow, I started two irreverent threads, expecting them to get ignored, and you actually found a way to merge them. Impressed.

that's a really good point. Physics is full of 'things' that are only recognized by their effect. The names are arbitrary.

goats are respectable beings of light and water
soaring crane replied to skydog's topic in General Discussion
Haha srsly, I wasn't joking. They do it here all the time. I don't mean to top of a tall pine or anything but they go up pretty high and out on limbs looking fresh shoots. It's pretty weird I guess. -

They stink to high heaven when they're wet. Ugh. Goat's milk and cheese are awesome. They're brutally smart. They climb trees. -
Yep: it's ALWAYS loaded

Can't be confident about answer I get . . .
soaring crane replied to Lataif's topic in Daoist Discussion
That's pretty much it, imo. However, the microbiome, which plays a HUGE role in our health and energy, is in fact affected by the procedure. It may well be a positive effect, but a difference nonetheless. But really, there are sooooo many men who are circumcised, a tremendous study group, if there were any negative side-effects, physiological or spiritual, there'd be more discussion about it. I think the one thing to remain skeptical about is any guru who gives you a definite answer one way or the other. -
