  1. Sweet Dew Bathes the Polar Mountain

Hi MooNiNite - If it's chakra, it isn't Daoist, and vice-versa. Andrei's reply is very clear and fitting :-)
  2. Thank you so, soooo much! The women I'm thinking of (women who for whatever reason seem to enter my circle more often than would normally be expected, given my own situation) do in fact accept their own situations more easily than I can accept them. They have a hard life, and they complain about the unfairness of their situations, but they approach it all with more objectivity than I can muster up. For my part, I feel the primal urge to ring the doorbells of their ex-husbands and break the bastards' noses. But I can see that the women don't want that. And that they know more than I know. And perhaps have a closer connection to the universal truth than I have. So, it seems that in my question, I was in fact seeking clarity for my own emotional state. And I got it .-)
  3. Have fun

    haha excellent!
  4. A woman in my 'Oma Group' (a pretty large group of mostly retired, elderly ladies) actually said today 'Oh, I think it's easier to stand on one leg if you center your weight on on the supporting leg'. I couldn't believe it. I literally (but lovingly) said to her, 'Helga, I've said that exact same thing, plus worked with you all individually on exactly that technique, 1537 times in this very room over the past four years'. We all got a good laugh out of it (but I thought about this thread in the back of my mind, haha)
  5. Wang Liping Students?

    Contact Taomeow :-)
  6. Damo Mitchell interview questions

I like this one, too. Looking forward to it :-)
  7. I'd like to ask a question that's general in scope but with a personal undercurrent for me and people in my circle. I guess it has to be addressed to the universe, but maybe one of the specific gentlemen will offer something. Why is society structured so unfairly against women?
  8. Any chance you could post a video of your medicine ball work? I'd appreciate it. I've been using mine again for a few weeks, doing moves I learned in a taiji ball worshop (which were based around shaolin white Crane that I've learned from the same teacher) but have experimented a little and found the teacup moves do more for me. I'd really like to see what you do! Thanks
  9. Haiku Chain

Does it go with beer? Vegetable, animal, or Mineral, Oh yes! (veg with 3 beats)
  10. Wow, it's like you channeled that from one of my qigong walking lessons. We need a forum where teachers can write anecdotes.
  11. The body awareness is a very big issue. I've actually lifted my shirt to show people where my navel is and instructed them to use their hands to actively locate their own, so that they could close by placing the hands atop one another, *on the abdomen below the belly button*. If I only say it, then some people will inevitably have their hands on the upper stomach or lower chest. Even if I repeat it five times.
  12. Animal communication

    Chiefly for the cartoon: http://www.coolest-gadgets.com/20090414/talking-to-the-dolphins
  13. The biggest turnoff for me is the letter R in a circle. It's a branding symbol of insecurity and I don't want to learn anything from an insecure person. The next thing is repackaged mainstream information, usually labeled with three words, always capitalized, and followed by the R in the circle.
  14. Qigong balls

Hey that's what they're really called, wasn't joking for once! Haha
  15. Get a Haircut & Get a Real Job - OK! Will Do!

Ha I was quoting myself. Was practicing with a small group in a park once and one of the others said there were people on a bridge above us, imitating us and laughing at us. I said something along the lines that if they're enjoying themselves, then our qigong is working for them, too :-)
  16. Qi Gong lecture

Need more time to listen to them all, but thank you for posting them!
  17. Farewell Remington Travel Alarm Clock

    Seth Thomas made in Germany
  18. Farewell Remington Travel Alarm Clock

That reminded me of an anecdote I once heard: A man was in Thailand on business and decided to go for a Thai massage. 'First, she told me to take off all my clothes. Then she took off all her clothes. Then I missed my flight to Singapore'.
  19. mystical poetry thread

Short (somewhat cynical but what the hey) poems: Let's build a snowman on the moon and push him off into the gloom, watch him sail down through the night and become a meteorite. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ A snowflake landed on my nose it tickled a bit and i just laughed but then it melted, that's how it goes, with snowflakes, when they're on my nose. You fluttered down from your cold cloud and danced and sang and loved me, then you melted and made me proud, because i survived and you are dead. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Trying to love you, is like running in old sneakers on wet grass. No matter how careful I am, I always land flat on my ass. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ As I paint the world anew I portray the moon as a flower the roots sunk into your head, sure you've dirt enough in there to keep a moonflower well-fed. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ And one sonnet: Green Weave Green weave, does my air, too, shimmer that way? Frozen golden wanderer, red goodnight-kiss, the day. I write the spirit dusty, a frosted window pane, Dying violins in the pink clouds, one day's rain. Breathe, little man, and stand above the red corn, A tree so symmetrical was never made, nor born. You write the meaning, hard glass from swirling gel, From lucid dreams, a liquid love, a black inkwell. Nothing amazes me, the core of the mandala, called the Way, Nothing dazzles me like nothing, the space between days. Between green and red, my fingers, your earth, Your horizons drip like wax, encased in Curve. Then I walk the farmer's fields a frozen night alone. Without visions or goodbyes, nowhere is not my home.
  20. mystical poetry thread

This was channeled, part of a long session with someone a long time ago. A young girl, a sad soul. ~~~~~~Suicide Light~~~~~~ I'm thinking of the air, dear Earth, between yourself and me, I'm seven stories up, you see, and not as light as I used to be. I'm thinking of the bird, dear Earth, that just flew right past me, he's got wings to fly, you see, and I'm not as light as I used to be. I'm thinking of the kiss, dear Earth, that I'll give you when we meet, I'll be there in just a sec, you see, 'cause I'm not as light as I used to be.
