Found some old scratchings. Here's one: ~~~ For the one who knows ~~~ Regard it gently, that door we imagined, the door that could never be locked, the door we conjured through our fixation on isolation, the door that rattled once and closed on your hand, tight on your fingers as they tried to clutch the obsession, hinged on the fine true breath of a tiny death not mature enough to hold your blossoming essence, the eruption you would become, that latent flow of molten love you would pour over me, only to watch the color melt from my eyes. Gently, regard that door.

wot? That's exactly the face I see in the chat room.

Get a Haircut & Get a Real Job - OK! Will Do!

ah ok, I see what you mean now. It was clear to me from the first minute that it was a professional video clip, done in multiple takes, but I'd bet your left nut that he's genuinely energy-working. If that makes some people laugh, well, laughter is the best medicine (and it's better than throwing rocks) -

I for one understood the multi camera angles and all that, but also clicked the channel at youtube: http://www.youtube.com/user/thenomadbarber It's a series of clips showing barbers from around the world. You're saying it's just a spoof? -

Ok, that is beautiful. He's clearing 'junk', cleansing, recharging, awesome. He's working tantric/shamanic/ayurveda. He's taking in through his breath, powerful and risky medicine, he's got to work on himself a lot. I got a huge jolt watching it, wow! And then this scene from The Green Mile popped onto my inner cinema screen, an emotional illustration of what our beautiful barber is doing: -
. In Wood, I make make my plans and start out on my journey, collecting experiences along the way. In Fire, these experiences culminate and I can see where the journey was leading me. In Earth, the experiences take root and begin to ripen. In Metal, I can reflect on the process and begin to decide which of the fruits to keep, which to let go. In Water, I store the finest fruits, the ones that I decided to keep, and they nourish my wisdom and my essence, providing me with a stronger basis for the next cycle... ...which begins in Wood, when I make my plans and start out on my journey ... .

Reminds me of something I said at a qigong class once. We were 'drumming' with the fingertips on the head. first the back of the head, then the top, down to the hairline, and I said, 'everywhere the hair grows', and looked at this one guy and added, 'or used to grow' . He had a sense of humor or I would never have said it! -
It's very unfair to call this China's problem or China's fault. We have seen the enemy and it is us: The World's Airpocalypse More articles on the subject This has to end. It just has to end.

oh noooooooo...!!! hahaha So, what's the English word for clearing a room with for example that olibanum stuff? PS - I was wrong about Styrax (from the tree Styrax officinalis), it originally is the sap of the tree, but for some reason, it's black and looks like charcoaled wood, and as you said the sap of the Liquidambar orientalis is more common now. Someone told me once that it was perfumed and I just went with it. I love it! Styrax together with Mastix is a heavenly combination. Together with Dragon's Blood they're a strong clearing/purifying method.
-
Yes but there's no reason why they should be polluting like it's 1879. And Britain's entire industrial output of the time was a fraction of the activity of just one major Chinese manufacturing city today.
-
SO2 = Sulfur Dioxide NOx = Nitrogen Oxide CO = Carbon Monoxide But BC? What's that? I tried to find it and a common theme seems to be pesticides, but I don't think that's what it refers to. Regardless, it's a tiny sampling of the chemicals and heavy metals that are being released into the atmosphere and water.
-
Note to nungali - Styrax as I know it is charcoaled wood with perfume. Very sweet smelling stuff. The page I linked to was just the Google image result for Weihrauch. I'll have to post a pic of my smoking stuff and utensils.. Laterz.

Here y'all go, bringing it a little closer to home: air-pollution-china-is-spreading-across-pacific-us It's actually a softball article, but I think the source is pretty reliable
-
I think she's kinda cute
-
The "US" was actually meant as a stress on "us", as in "all of us", oops The companies producing in China are western companies for the largest part. Do you know of any American-brand consumer goods that are made in the US? China is just obliging by allowing the western manufacturers destroy their own land (and abuse their own people) and getting filthy rich off the arrangement. But it's western consumerism that is fueling this demon. Huge, monstrously huge toxic clouds form over Chinese manufacturing cities. The chemical contents of those clouds are an evil cocktail of pretty much every industrial pollutant known (and in western countries, strictly regulated). They stay around until the atmospheric conditions are such that they get sucked into the jet-stream, and distributed around the planet. The US Pacific Northwest is already being poisoned.
-
This isn't about carbon dioxide at all! It's about genuinely toxic air and water and ground. It's about mercury and arsenic, ammonia and dioxin and a huge host of industrial pollutants being released into the atmosphere and ground water by the metric tonload. It is really about an ecological apocalypse mounting on the near horizon. I would welcome and end to the absurd global warming and co2 debate. And I would welcome a 20 percent surcharge on every single item manufactured in China with proceeds to go directly into cleaning this. Now.

Chi Kung - The Ultimate Method of Breathing
soaring crane replied to ChiDragon's topic in Daoist Discussion
that was very nicely worded, thank you. Can I add that even before birth, we're busy 'breathing' with the lower belly; drawing our nutrition in through the umbilical cord. And qigong is an attempt to reactivate that state of being. -
well... ok, this is qigong. It's also sex ...
-
That's a classic image, yes! And so classically Chinese. And if the previous ruler was too weak, his successor will be able to tarnish his reputation, and minimize the effects of his policies.

scent amber? I have a feeling that could be English for Weihrauch .... checking ... no. Unless it's a Kiwi thing I don't know what you properly call Weihrauch in English. I mean this stuff: Weihrauch Dried tree sap, more or less. Olibanum, etc. I have a large collection, among other 'smoking' substances. I wish I had the proper English terms for this other than 'burn incense' or whatever.
