Hello, yeah, that's basically my question up there in the subject line. Thanks! SC

hi! I'd appreciate some reliable info on Hui Chun Gong, if anyone here is familiar with the form. Good online resources? Personal experience? One specific question - I read recently that Swimming Dragon form part of this system is, but I don't know if this is true or not. Is it? I've been practicing SD for a long time as one of my core exercises but the teacher I initially got it from said it came from Buddhist temples ... I never really questioned the roots. Now I'm curious. PS - I have very specific reasons for this query, it's kind of important to me, so I'd be really thankful for any good info

Why do some progress faster than others?

no you didn't. You just tapped into something that confirmed your beliefs, and it felt good. -

fyi - I've now attended two extended workshops with Lam and have been priveleged to watch him perform his martial arts once (apparently a privilege that very few people have enjoyed, so I feel quite honored in that respect). He's a master of them all, including Bagua. So, please dispell the impression that he does nothing but standing practices. However, he'd tell you that the static practice is the root of the dynamic arts. And if he had to sacrifice one for the other, there's no question which one he'd retain. He basically said as much. The most advanced two-legged posture I've experienced with him is the yiquan dragon stance, not something you should do without instruction, because you won't do it right:

no, I can't find that particular flim, sorry. It wasn't that fascinating, but they visited a few of those place where roads have been diverted and big stone formations where the gnomes live. There was an Icelandic guide along with them explaining the stories. It was shown after this, which actually is quite a spectactular documentary in its own right, but in German:

Sorry, no solid diagnosis here and if it were only the mop feeling, I would mention qi sensations I've had in the past which abate with time. But with intense eye and headaches, I'm thinking you might need to see a doctor. Have you ever had migraines? -

Oozing sarcasm out of every pore in your skin is in fact a poor tactic if you're trying to convince anyone of your integrity. -
There was a travel report on tv here a few weeks ago that focussed on the gnomes and their homes throughout Iceland. That was a good watch!

Perhaps pay closer attention to and cherish more the aural perceptions. Hearing is generally a more profound sense than vision.

@corpus - thank you for sharing your experiences, you're quite possibly the first to pique my curiosity about the book. I'm glad you found something useful in it. The breathe work you describe isn't anything exotic or esoteric, and certainly not limited to any one school. How are you planning to advance along the path?

Sounds like you've found your calling, Flo, I'm happy for you :-) Could you please elaborate on this one, I honestly can't make heads or tails of it, but hamstrings are an issue with me, thanks: -
I'm one of them ;-)

He wrote essentially that. I believe he's going to continue baiting until he catches something big. Just to prove a point, I guess.
