Dragon Stance But Sifu Fong says the perfect way to do it is with your torso sitting on the knee and thigh, and in a completely straight line with your back leg.

from interview and his books. He has good quality teachings. It might be true that he is more focused on teaching than progressing himself, maybe his personality crams everyone's style in one way or another, maybe his Chen and Yang style isn't well enough to apply martially, but we can all agree on at least two things about him. He is showing a lot of people good things that will them improve their lives, and he does understand many many things that are beyond what he and many others, but not all others, can do. Without his book I would have never known you can get to a level in Baguazhang where you can discharge spiritual energy into people, actually helping them on their path, and possibly neutralizing the fight.

time to bow the kua for good.

at my early stage, I don't care if he's negligent, just that I have something to learn from him, which might just be not to be negligent.

my yiquan teacher just about a month and a half ago had me start horse stance standing. I love the energy I have through out the day after a good ten minutes of a decent postured horse stance. I need to move farther to my heels, it will make an immense difference. Soon enough it won't even be an exercise really. It's funny, my Sifu does it for five hours, he says he doesn't stop because he's tired, just because he has to eat, he gets up at 6am, starts horse stance, then usually at 11 decides it's time to eat lunch. But whats funny is he's telling me this while i've been in horse stance for 10mins, two pools of sweat on the floor beneath me, red hot and puffin for air. The students including I couldn't help but laugh. I also recommend Big Step Stance: Sifu Fong in Big Step Stance Heat will plummet down your back leg and ground in your feet after this stance.

I want to read a good book on the interaction between our plane and other planes, that isn't christian based, or an astral projection book. I'm looking for possibly very full taoist or yogic view on spirits, karma, reincarnation.... etc any suggestions from the friendly bums?

Is Falun Gong or Falun Dafa a religion as wiki says it may be considered, or is it just a practice? considering 50% of China's labor camps are Falun Gong practicioners, and they banned the practice, I assume there is something to it. All information is completely free, all books and lectures, all free at: FalunDafa.org they say... "Other types of cultivation rely on the development of an energy cluster in the lower abdomen (dantian) formed through meditation or other practices. The energy exists unseen in another dimension. While meditating (or practicing), this cultivation energy develops. When meditation ends, so too does the development of cultivation energy. Only with more practice does one develop more cultivation energy. Falun Dafa is different. A Falun is installed in the lower abdomen of every Falun Dafa practitioner. Falun rotates nonstop, automatically assisting practitioners to increase their cultivation energy. Unlike other practices, Falun Dafa allows practitioners to develop cultivation energy regardless of whether they are meditating or not. Falun continues to rotate twenty-four hours a day, constantly developing cultivation energy, even while practitioners are at work, at play and asleep."

seems like a decent clip to pull some types of people in. Just like how John Chang pulled me into metaphysics. This clip seems more.... off centered? It just looks like those people aren't benefiting from flinging around, that's all. Plus any siddhi is rather unimportant, his vibe didn't connnect with me either. Could be credible, I don't have a clue and not a place to say whether it is or not.

Discharge as in during martial arts training? or discharges emotional stress onto other people throughout the day? So a person without that problem could gain alot from Bruce Frantzis's work and training?
-
it sounds like it resonates with my belief system. But i'm just interested, not necessarily looking for a new practice.

my counselor was had social anxiety disorder, as I do now but it's hugely worn off in the last two months. She told me to spend time meditating on my feet. feel the sole of your feet against your shoe, the sock around it, the bones, just put your mind into your feet. This will ground you in yourself and your environment, and mother earth. Wait till you really feel more energy in your feet to stop, if you have enough time, meditate till they heat up. Also, I-chuan standing has done amazing things, it cures it 100% for a few hours and permanently makes it a little bit better.

my teacher, Gregory Fong, believes in I-chuan. He teaches Chen and Yang style Taiji, as well as Praying Mantis Kung-fu. The thing is, he teaches I-chuan fundamentals in all classes. The Chen form he teaches, is the Chen form, but it includes all these really fast pop-and-locks, twitches, and waves to re-sort and relax the muscles he just used, in preparation to use the muscles required for the next movement. One of the more experienced people in class mentioned that truely we are learning I-chuan, not Taiji. Sifu Fong and others in his class seem fulfilled, happy, respectful, and confident. I know this is part of my path. But now I want to learn more about I-chuan and it's effects on the mind and spirit. Also, I hear is going to start making a shift from Kung-Fu to Hsing-I, which would be sweet. I wish he taught bagua cause he does know it, that's ultimately what I want to learn.

Both bagua and taiji are internal arts. They both root you and connect you with your subtle body? Where do they differ? is I-chuan internal, does it promote a balanced subtle body? clear channels? etc...
-
any good books that have a good whole section on rooting, grounding, and the root chakra?
-
I will order and read all of those books, although I can only see how the Yiquan out of all of them is connected to rooting. I'll know.

every one seems to disagree. I think this is a time to practice patience. I will wait and see what happens. What I do know is that if the gov't did want to have everyone be their sheep, convert over to a world gov't, and be on top of a mindless society, everything is going as planned besides the cultivators seeking liberation. If we don't globalize, i'll believe all CT is bull. To my mind, right now that theory is being practiced and is underway. Why not be fearlessly cautious? The only thing that could come of it is the gov't losing a little power of our free will

i'm sorry for you Patrick. Where does your attack on Lin come from? your grudge? what's the source of this form of hate and anger? Who pointed out his error? Who here is taoist? completely emersed in a 100% unbroken lineage holding taoist way of life? What dogma? Please back these claims up so I know what you are talking about. The only thing from your post I can verify is that your words and intention is based on karma, not your true self. "Yes my kharma just ran over your dogma!" Also that you are okay with personal judgement. "You talk a lot but me thinks that's 'spiritual vanity' on you part. " Anyway, I didn't know there were people that weren't aware of the plain, obvious and clear truth. Where I come from it's just common sense, simple as that.

I love standing, but I can't stand to stand in a ten by ten foot room with a computer, couch, dresser, blue oyster mushroom growing equipment, and plastic portable closet in it. It's just too much, I find it really hard to push myself outside of my teacher's studio. I ask you all, how do I discover the prime time for me to practice(possibly via astrology), and if I were to take everything out of this room, what do I need to learn to make it my practice room. Any other outside energies I could summon to dually help my internal energy of motivation, inspiration, and honor?

wow, i'm simply highly impressed with the fact that no one talked him or his work down to dirt. simply amazing. I'll see if his meditations will help me in my life right now.

Choa Kok Sui's Site He has books on Pranic Healing and other good meditations and information. I am going to get his book on becoming farther into oneness with your higher self. Does anyone have experience with Choa Kok Sui or his books? What would becoming one with my higher self do for me?

I will ask my teacher more questions about this. He learned I-chuan from Master Yu Yong Nian, Wang Yu Fang, Master Li Jian Yu, and Master Po Jar Chung. He also learned Chen taijiquan from Chen Xiaowang. He also knows hsing-i, bagua, praying mantis, and other arts I'm unaware of. Possibly there is more than one way to stand correctly? Or maybe we stand the same way. My burning is in the knees, but my quads are so weak to begin with so they burn too. Also, my feet are about a leg's length apart, so it's not just regular health stance. He told me that regular health stance without the wide stance is for middle aged and old people. This isn't necessarily so, but his point was that when he was my age he did it wider, it gave him results, so he has me do it.

this is funny. I've been without a girlfriend for a month now. my energy has been reserved. There are way more extremely hot girls around me all the time now. It never was like this when i was with my ex. My balls heat up and feelings shoot my chest. The power of attraction is almost scary. Seeing really hot women makes me think that polygamy is counter productive to achieving a peaceful mind and long life. I'm reaching for my hundreds. Any insight?

thank you. I also decided that I'm going to strictly focus on grounding, and I-chuan. If my Sifu allows me to join his other classes with no extra charge I will definitely do that, either way I think he will at least let me use the extra space during his other classes for standing. I just love how easy it is to push myself in there. It feels really cool to burn up, barely be able to walk, but feel more natural than ever.
