a friend of mine shared his belief as: meditation, astrology, feng shui... all and the rest of our tools... they open doors slowly but surely. psychadelics are like using a crowbar to get the door open, you might be able to get it to open faster but you can do damage.

It's scary how brainwashed my parents are, I realized this when they were reading off the menu of Pizza Hut, when my mom said the words "Ultimate Meat", and actually thought this sounded good. I promote vegetables and fruits all day long, but my father says these things are too expensive when he could by a big package of ham and turkey. My mom doesn't have the will-power to not eat the food she's addicted too. They are both overweight, in distress and are shortening their lives. Anyway, has anybody had good experiences with helping people change their ways for the better?

Taoist Sages aging into the several hundred years of age were known for their use of opiates, buddhists use betel nut. The ancient Soma is actually detrimental instead of a direct path to the 'God'? Jesus Christ, a very well known shaman, healer, obviously very near the Tao, if not completely with the flow, his messages directing mankind to the soma is another example of becoming alchemically one with the gaian mind as a method of growth. Mantak Chia's Darkness Retreats are there so your pineal gland can secrete DMT and 5-MEO-DMT into your body.... these are drugs.... I think it's all unique to the perception and individual

I want to see people actively helping others be where they want to be in their lives. I guess to all who read this will think that I see my parents under only one light. They are actually awesome people, I respect and love them both greatly. But they want to change, they try. They choose to go on diets and then fall off of them. I just want to help out in every way I can. My mother would be happier to focus on the good things in life. And they both think my evidence and beliefs of the harm are leaders knowingly inflict on us is hogwash. I hope them the happiest way to go about what they want in life, and I do know that there is knowledge out there that could help them so much, it just saddens me that they can't see it. I love them and they want help but are trained to over-see the very help that they seek and that I talk about. Anyway, the best of everything to all.

I'm having a hard time understanding emptiness meditation. I've watched the bk meditation movie twice and i'm still unsure of how to 'watch' my breath without feeling it or visualizing it. What are some other names for it so I can look up more resources and books? Do you just place your attention on a fixed point in the nostrils? Isn't this feeling the breath? thank you very very much for your time.

thanks mjjbecker, I needed to hear that. I'm sure some entity was trying to misguide me again.

it's going good besides the fact that my house is really noisy(dogs barking at anything that moves and people that talk loud and watch TV, all that I can hear through the walls) and there are always cars and airplanes and lawnmowers. I'm not sure what to do about this.... if i should go to another basic practice or what.

I can't say i'm very experienced, i've only tripped a given 200 times on various substances, mostly mushrooms. laughing out loud at the idea of Pleidians is very sad to me, since the focus of it is that peace and love revolves all biology, raises awareness, and will heal all of those in your community and the world. James Gilliland is a good person to look into, he and many others have participated in activities with many off-world light beings, all of the great spiritual people on earth he's encountered understood right when seeing him that he has a very large role to play in helping mankind. I'm a clean person, no drugs, no booze. Just spiritual practice. 8 months ago I chose to trip with people I thought were my good friends. They set me up to have a bad trip cause they believed if I could overcome what they were doing, my awareness could be raised to a new level, and i'd be initiated into hanging out with these people. But instead, my mind retreated into anxiety and paranoia up until this day. Meditation has been extremely helpful. If I ever use again, i will be alone, i've tripped alone on LSD and mushrooms many of times. But I will be meditating while I do them, and I'll pray for the divine and perfected earth energy and cosmic energy as the substance grows out of the ground and fruits. I believe Psilcybe fungus didn't originate on earth, the chemicals in them are of a unique classification and structure unknown to any other plant, spores can survive through earth's atmosphere...etc They do good, if you help them do good, don't leave it up to the energy of the plant, cause your mind-body can be overwhelmed, it's up to you to direct the now more potent medium for energy that is your self. I don't believe that you can say drugs will harm you more in the long run, they can, but only if you misdirect the immense amount of energy they either bless or harm you with. Same thing with all energy.

What about connecting to plant spirits? They can be extremely helpful, and what if mushrooms are really here for us to connect with the Pleiadians? These are all possibilites, but meditation to, can channel us into these outside guides, and in a safer way.

I got Jack kornfield's Mindfulness for Beginners, it's exactly what I needed.

I took advice from the many stillness meditation advocates and cut out all of my wandering practice and have decided to practice mindfulness and t'ai chi, that's it. I'm reading Mindfulness in Plain English. I watch BK meditation on google video but i'm not sure whether to feel my breath fill my lungs, or go down the middle of my body. how long would you do this meditation per session? Any online resources?

Emptiness mixed with Mindfulness/Awareness for channels?
Pranaman replied to Pranaman's topic in General Discussion
"Concentrate on it entering you and exiting you. Best is to be aware as fully as possible of the entire process of breathing, but most people focus on one aspect or another: the sensation of coolness followed by warmth at the nostrils, or the rise and fall of the diaphragm. Many meditators suggest imagining the air entering and exiting a small hole an inch or two below your navel. Keeping your mind lower on the body tends to lead to deeper meditation. If you are sleepy, then focus higher, such as at the nostrils." Anybody find anything wrong with this? -

by the way i'm talking about Pema Chodron's practices in her Noble Heart cd. -
In the White Tiger DVD Stephane is actually in it learning from Piccus. Stephane's vid is incomplete. With chi loss, I believe that occurs, but Piccus also pumps chi into the girl, and also claims that the whole process floods the body and clears the channels.

I just read a Pema Chodron book, and i was wondering what you all thought about the idea of actively practicing the shamatha-vipassana and tonglen? This is in reference of my goal to take my physical body with me after death and my plan to after my channels naturally open up train in some kind of taoist immortality practice....
-
to concentrate on the breath, you just mean like the one point in my nose? or the entire sensation? In Mindfullness In Plain English the author says to avoid the void, is the void different from shamatha?

how long do you think it will take till I can retain doing Mantak Chia's exercises everday? I try to be celibate but sometimes my mind gets on a one way track when I'm with my girlfriend....

Skepdic i feel pain for how tense the hearts of those are who live to criticize true beauty, and everything abroad. I pray for them and all alike.
