  1. Has anyone got experience with MMS Chlorine Dioxide by Jim Humble? http://mmsadvisor.com/ It was recommended to me to be good for dental health. Humble claims that it is non-toxic and very effective in killing harmful bacteria, etc..
  2. Found an old yoga documentary

I just watched a few minutes of it. Hilarious! Love the spooky Twilight Zone-like background music. This could be fun or it could just be very boring. Might watch more in the evening.
  3. An easy yoga for me?

What is your objective by practicing yoga? Depending on that there would be different recommendations. In general I believe a form of hatha yoga is a very good means to improve flexibility, strength and balance as well as create a calm mind. There is a whole spectrum from more restorative yoga styles such as a yin yoga to very sweat producing vinyasa styles. But even in the vinyasa (power) yoga styles you can just go as far as you're comfortable and take a break in between. Similar to jogging- a well trained runner will run 8 kilometers in 30something minutes, a beginner might want to take it easy and run in 45 minutes. Please keep in mind that asana (body postures) is only one limb of yoga, the others are basically precepts on how to behave towards others and oneself, breathing exercises and meditation. But they are not necessary to get the benefits from asana. Often though with regular practice the sadhaka (practitioner) will get interested in them and incorporate them in the practice naturally.

    Interesting. Thank you, Karen.

What do you guys think of the professional teeth cleaning done at the dentist? My dentist recommended me to have one. Of course they often have an employee just for that purpose and that employee has got to work. I also already told her that I don't want to have the fluoridization. that's normally part of it. I'm not sure about the cleaning. What do you think?
  6. Zeitgeist

I finally watched it. It is definitely nicely done. However, everything is presented as if it were the definite answer and the clear and undeniable truth. I'm not so sure about that. For example in the movie they claim that the Fed is not owned by the state, but by a group of banks, some of them even being of foreign origin. I cannot believe this. Is there anyone here who has good knowledge on this? In Germany the central bank for sure is owned by the state. I believe that this is the same in all European countries and cannot imagine it to be different in the US. It is also claimed that there is no legal basis for paying income tax. Even two former IRS employees are quoted who say that they don't know of any law regarding taxes. This seems very unbelievable, too. Any tax experts?
  7. gold dragon body

Hahaha- that was pretty funny. I also read the post and was kind of doubtful but still excited wanting to believe.
  8. *

What's the transmission at the seminar like? After all the talk about a worm or the kunlun energy getting planted into you I'm a little cautious about this. Does normally everyone accept the transmission?
  9. tooth regeneration

    Can you explain blotting?
  10. tooth regeneration

Just a quick update on the Toothsoap products. I received them about a week ago. The toothsoap is very nice. I didn't know what to expect. You get a bottle and in it are a few hundred little perhaps one centimeter long shreds of the soap. You chew on one with your molars and then brush with a wet soap. You get foam and you have a soapish taste in your mouth, but it's not unpleasant. So, if the claim, that glycerin in other toothpastes (and even my ayurvedic and health shop bought ones have that component) prevents mineralizing of the tooth, then this is a very good product, albeit more expensive than normal toothpaste. especailly if you order it from abroad (like from Germany) and have to pay another 20% VAT and import duties and not only on the product price but also on the very expensive shipping costs :-( I also bought the swish- it's basically Himalaya salt. Nice, but not sure if necessary or couldn't be subsituted with sea salt or normal Himalaya salt. And I also got the mouth spray- this one is nice, but very weak. I also got the book by Dr Judd. In the first pages it says that it can be distributed freely, so scanning and distributing shouldn't be a problem. I don't have a scanner, though. The layout is very simple. It reminded me of a university study done by me with some simple graphics in Word and printed out 15 years ago. Dr Judd is very critical of Fluoridization and high salaries of dentists. I found the criticism justified, but quite repetitive and polemical and some arguments are flawed. He put an update in the first pages in which he says that white sugar according to his latest findings would mean no harm to teeth. I don't agree with that. I'm still only on the first pages, so cannot tell you his recommendation on how to keep healthy teeth yet.
  11. Is this THE Wang Li Ping?

You can find the documentary on youtube here: It's the first of five parts. Interesting. However, it reminds me of the documentaries I've seen about the Shaolin monasteries. I wonder how authentic it still is and how much it's already government organized for tourism and show. This Wang Liping doesn't look at all like the Dragon Gate WLP.
  12. Wang Liping website?

I also stumbled upon this site a few ago or so. The content is the same as on Wikipedia, I think.
  13. Aliens?

I think the whale shark is a vegetarian, feeding off planktion, krill and such. You mean a killer whale perhaps? Not sure if they can kill white sharks, though
  14. tooth regeneration

Thanks. I'm collecting information now. I'll update then.
  15. tooth regeneration

Just got back from the dentist. An inlay came out so I went to get it fixed. Unfortunately below the inlay caries (a cavity) had developed unnoticed. The doctor told me that he thought the tooth was badly damaged and that the nerve might be dead. He said that he hopes he can save the tooth with a root canal treatment (meaning scraping out the nerve and filling it). The only alternative would be the extraction of the tooth. Very annoying. Do you have any suggestions? Also what would you recommend to prevent further decay in the future? I'm in my thirties and have cut out nearly all sugar from my diet. Also most refined carbohydrate like white bread. Still I get cavities. I brush regularly and floss two times a week. I guess I have to floss more regularly and also get these pipe cleaner like brushed to clean better between the teeth. What about this blotting technique? Can anyone explain? No 30$ links please. Thanks edit: Has anyone read this book yet: http://toothsoap.com/index.php?page=i-must...books-am-i-dead It's actually on the root canal and seems to claim that filled root canals are still full of bacteria that then cause disease.
  16. My Love for the Taobums

The hairstyle of the music studio guy is great. I really liked this song by Eddie Murphy when I heard it 20 years ago. i was surprised that he could sing so well. But I always thought he was singing "Michael wants to party all the time" and wondered who this Michael was Ha - just watched the next clip- Rick James- isn't that the studio guy from the Eddie Murphy video? Check out these classics:

  18. This forum, that is thankfully organized by Sean, is set up so that everybody can enjoy it. In the past weeks there has been a proliferation of posts by Mak Tin Si. I think on some days as many as ten new posts by him could be seen. Now there are different opinions on this posting behaviour. Whether his content is of interest to people or not shall not be discussed here. Though, I think, most people would say that they find his posts interesting and are thankful for his sharing. Some say that they wouldn't see his posts if they were posted somewhere else and are thus fine with the all these new posts in the discussion section. Others find it a pity that the forum is swamped with Mak Tin Si's posts, making it difficult to find older or other interesting posts. They think it would be better if he posted in a special section such as the private practice area, at least the majority of his posts. A few posts in the discussion area would be fine. So far, we don't know what percentage of users favours which alternative. The results of this poll will give us a better picture. I'd also like to stress that this is a general poll for this kind of phenomenon. If someone came onto the board posting ten new topic posts everv day in the discussion section on the intricacies of the various schools of Tai Ji Quan that would also be covered by this poll. So, it's not about Mak Tin Si or the content of his posts, but a question of frequency and location of posts.
  19. Community's opinion on max. frequency of posts

You're using heavy words here, man. It's a question of balance and I think that most people have a normal feeling how many new posts are fine and how many will probably be annyoing. If someone posted ten jokes in separate topics or funny youtube videos it would get the same reaction. Don't you think?
  20. Community's opinion on max. frequency of posts

Allright. Here its is. Right now out of 30 taobums that voted 27 (90%) would appreciate MTS post similar posts under one topic or in his own section. 3 (10%) are happy with his current posting frequency and location.
  21. Mak_Tin_Si

I posted a poll on it. I'll bump it up to see what the current status is.
  22. Sealing the Energy in

An interesting thread. Regarding the sealing I heard that some yoga masters advocate not showering for half an hour or an hour after practicing to keep the prana inside. In a TaiChi class I also saw the teacher holding his hands to the dantien at the end of the exercise. I also liked the food discussion. Unfortunately many people believe that just because the stuff is there in the supermarket and bought by many people that it is normal, i.e. fine to buy it. But our body's internal processes have been hardwired over tens of thousands of years and don't respond well to all the empty refined carbohydrates, namely sugar and white flour that make up most industrially made products, not to mention the chemicals, that are just there to increase shelf life and not your life and/or make the production cheaper. Many people are learning about this, though. In Germany for instance many, normal products that you can find in a standard supermarket now advertise "no preservatives" and "no msg". In Scandinavia on the other hand for some strange reason most products like cheese still contained preservatives. At least when I was last there three years ago. And I know a number of people who had allergies or skin problems and got much better after healing practitioners (that's what they're called here) advising them to change their diet: cutting down on animal proteins and refined carbohydrates mostly. And I shudder when I see friends (mostly girls) drinking Diet Coke and feeling good about it. And yes, in Germany it is virtually impossible to find chewing gum without articial sweeteners or sugar. Not even in health shops.
  23. Community's opinion on max. frequency of posts

I don't know if you're referring to me, Mak Tin Si. First of all as I wrote this is not against you but against the phenomenon of too many posts by you clogging the discussion forum. Also, the problem with China is not rules I think, but to the contrary the rule of people (guanxi) versus the rule of rules (i.e. the law) that are the same for everyone plus of course the problem of censorship. So, no one proposes to censor your posts. As I wrote I find a number (I haven't read all) very interesting and am thankful for your writing them here. I think others are as well. Furthermore this is a general discussion among members on what to do in such a case. As I wrote if somebody came onto the board posting in similar frequency to you on Wicca it would be the same discussion. Plus this is an open board; The idea of the poll is to find out what the members think of how to go about this. If the majority thinks it's better to post your stuff in your section, well I guess, it's up to you to do it. I'm not sure Sean would want to enforce anything upon anybody. All that I can say is that I'll frequent this board much less if it continues like it has in the past days.
  24. A Powerful Voice Of Reason

The danger is that people rely upon intermediaries to contact God or interpret his will instead of doing it themselves.
