I agree it is easy to muddy the water with such an onslaught of infomation. Interesting as it may be.

I have no direct experience with FU so I cannot rule out its authenticity. Considering the things I have known others to not believe true that I have directly experienced myself, I find it better to always leave the door open. The picture is much larger than we can ever see at one time and we only get a tiny piece of that picture at any given moment. And we tend not to remember what we have seen already, unfortunately.

That's a tough situation to be in. Why do you continue to do so much via the internet/with computers? I would be avoiding computer use as much as possible if I were you. And considering how extreme your response to MTS was don't you think maybe you need to look at how you relate to things/people? I would be asking myself why I seem to be running up against people, places and things. Maybe all of this is telling you should go off the grid or at the very least limit your exposure. Good luck and happy holidays!

I think it's funny people find it annoying. He just happens to be an active member of the forum. Maybe he is just posting at the level that the forum "needs"? And we are all just lagging behind in our topics and posts. I wonder if it is annoying to MTS that everyone else posts so little.

Aren't you tired of typing this tripe over and over? Aren't you here to pursue personal growth of sort or another? You seem to be stuck. Just an observation.

From my point of view I see you trying to "sell" us more than I have seen MTS try to sell in any of his posts. Granted I don't hit every thread he posts in. You definitely seem to have an axe to grind with the guy as you keep bringing this up over and over again. I can see that MTS might like to have a personal practice space and that other members might benefit from it. But I still see nothing wrong with the content of his posts or their frequency. I tend to disagree with some of his communication stylings(or lack there of, IMO) but I haven't seen anything that should elicit the kind of response that you are exhibiting. Also, who is next? Who else should we push to another section of the forum(or out of it) because we don't agree with their take on things? Or how they may or may not choose to put knowledge into the world. Anyway, Sean has spoken so...whatever.

Do these periods of time also relate to the various organs energy throughout the day? I seem to have a faint recollection of this from some previous studies. I seem to remember certain times of the day being higher or lower points for different organ energies.

We are all limited. I suppose that is the point of the questions I asked. Was what you say above not exactly what I was saying to MTS? Perhaps I was not clear. But to say something is or isn't karma based on previous acts or otherwise, seems to me, presupposes a larger understanding of things that we are all really just guessing about. Me, you and MTS. You and I seem to be willing to admit that!

But we can't see everything or know everything. We only get a small piece of the picture, maybe a billionth or trillionth of it. Even if a person lives to be 200 years old there are still infinite possibilities about the outcomes to any given action. And I am sorry but it is ridiculous of you to say that a baby dying at an early age is due to karma. Can you also blame karma on the millions of Jews, Christians, gays and others that died in the holocaust? They all had it coming karmically?!! What about the perpetrators of some of those crimes that lived out their lives and saw no retribution? Were they so good in a previous life that it didn't matter what they did in their current one? Or will they pay in the next? And why is it that you and your religious affiliates get to decide such things? Or are you only telling us what has been handed down to you from generation to generation? You seem to be wrapped up in some pretty limiting dogma.

He sure seems to go out of his way to not explain or clarify his ideas. I've never seen or known a true teacher to be this way about knowledge. Oops...wait. Did I just curse him again?

I mistook nothing. I asked a question. May or Will? You have the opportunity to rephrase as I think you understood what my question was.

MTS is FOS!

No curse was given towards you. I just said you were full of shit with a response like the one you gave above. And were and still are! You can't defend some of things that spill from your IP and so you try to minimize the person asking the question. I said it to you before and I will type it again...Real gold does not fear the fire!

^ ^ ^ ^ ^ ^ ^ ^ ^ ^ ^ ^ ^ ^ ^ ^ ^ ^ ^ ^ ^ ^ ^ ^ The most full of shit answer I have seen you post yet!

May or Will? It doesn't seem like it would be both ways.

Why would you think that just because you have a wife that you won't be celibate? You're obviously not married!

Most foods produced using the Biodynamic method will be very energetically charged. Biodynamics is about as close to "spiritual" farming as it gets. It was originated in the mind of Rudolf Steiner. Ask your local coop to carry it. Marian Farms, out of Southern California, is one grower. Another is Beck Grove, they mainly do citrus and sub-tropicals. Their Pixie tangerines are unbelievable, usually available in Jan. or Feb. And Whole Foods does carry raw cacao. I have not seen whole beans but bags of cacao "nibs". And a mixture that I have enjoyed, cacao nibs with Hunza raisins.

If your goal is a longer horse stance then, in my experience, just keep doing your horse stance. Just do it gradually. Best not to push the body too much, too quickly. Besides gaining strong legs and a developed root and such. You will also be developing a good amount of patience. An hour long horse stance, if done properly, is an accomplishment.

While I agree that payment in relation to gaining knowledge is not a bad thing I take issue with the idea that things that are "FREE or DIY" are of no value. Just because it's free does not mean it is worthless, quite the contrary in my experience. Interesting topic. Especially since I am off to private T'ai-Chi instruction this very minute!

While I agree with, what I think is the basic principle you are espousing, the idea that masters/teachers should not use accumulated knowledge to accumulate huge amounts of wealth. I also think all beings have a right to make a living. And people that have given up large portions of their lives for and to practice need to be able to charge what ever they see fit for continuing that knowledge. Everyone has to eat and such. But this idea that certain knowledge is everyone's birthright is a bit misguided, IMO. If a person's destiny/birthright is to have these teachings then the universe will see to it. I just don't think that people who don't have money won't find the teachings they need and deserve. The scales will balance so to speak. But for you to say certain teachers will be burning because they charge seems like a foolish statement. My teachers charge nothing compared to what they offer and I would gladly pay a lot more. Most I have seen do not charge enough. Students should pay what they can, both rich and poor. And BTW, you seem to be speaking for yourself. You are giving voice to your own ideas. And I would probably charge you more if I was your teacher as the issue sure seems to be a point of separation for you.

Reason for Ethics and not FREEDOM DESIRED
Ryan T. replied to Mak_Tin_Si's topic in General Discussion
So who's judging who? This must be the ethics you are trying to speak to. I am sorry if you have been put on the defensive. I was just trying to clarify inconsistencies in what I was reading. -
Reason for Ethics and not FREEDOM DESIRED

You asked the question so I answered based on what I was reading. You seem to look at Taoism like the elders of the Judaism-Christian schools. "Just have faith in what I say." "I have the true word of [insert belief system here]." You seem to want people to get something out of what you are typing, as in some type of master-student relationship. Yet you are unwilling to answer even the most basic of questions regarding your lineage. Spiritual seekers have questions. Does your tradition discourage questions and challenges? Judging you and your words is not my point. -
Reason for Ethics and not FREEDOM DESIRED
Ryan T. replied to Mak_Tin_Si's topic in General Discussion
I imagine they are asking because you write about the value of master-student relationship and writing as if you are giving instruction to your students as a master. You value lineage but seem unwilling to produce one. It may not be convenient to expose your masters' backgrounds but hardly seems of value to talk about lineage then. I have my martial arts teachers, not Taoist masters(but they might be). If I speak about their skills or teachings I certainly can back it up with the lineage that I am associated with. Your responses come off as the ubiquitous "the master's teachings came to me in a dream". Remember, real gold does not fear the fire! -
Taoists, at least in story form, are able to avoid such worldly conflicts by "flowing/being one with the Way". That is all I am going to say related to your questions about Taoism/alcohol/justice. A Taoist lifestyle can help one to avoid such situations. But from my own personal experience you seem to be skirting a major issue...YOUR RELATIONSHIP WITH ALCOHOL! "Right" or "Wrong". The laws that you live under tell you that you are not allowed to consume alcohol due to your age. Yet you do it over and over again. I would ask what compels you to do these things in spite of your previous "bad luck" in getting caught. Drug and alcohol use/experimentation is all too common in our society today and does not necessarily mean a person is headed towards addiction. But 18? 4 underage consumptions? I might take a hard look at what is driving you. Taoism can help. But it is something like 1 in 10 will be addicts.
