  1. I am back

In Li Jiong's defense he never said anything like this. He simply said that he wishes to keep dishonest and suspect people out of the school. I think he wants to keep out someone who is not dedicated to practice and learning, and all they want is something free to play with until they are bored. To be honest, $72 is really not much at all. It's less than most people might spend on gas for a week, a nice dinner out, a pair of shoes, an iPod, or a month at martial arts school. Yet it is maybe just enough to put off people who are not honestly wanting to put effort into practice. I've found Li Jiong to be a really kind and honest guy, who is just trying to spread this cultivation practice. Thanks for your understanding! Peace
  2. just curious

Hi Pranaman! I read the books and practiced the exercises for about 6-8 months. I stopped because I felt like I was being drawn into something more cult like, but at the same time to be fair, nobody had ever asked anything of me. The books were exciting to read, and I like the exercises. If you just left it at that I think it would be great. Master Li though seemed to me to get further and further out there. And he went from promoting the exercise, to promoting the teaching, to finally saying that in order to truly progress you must spread the message of Falun Gong, "save all beings" and spread the truth about Chinese Governments torture of practitioners. I never met any other students, but I did find myself telling a co-worker about it, and at one point posting flyers in a store. My wife felt it was cult like. I still don't know what to think about it. I don't practice it now, but I think about it every so often, even if I feel I can no longer connect with what the teacher is talking about. The books I do connect with. If it ended there I would like it, but it doesn't. It's very hard to get any real history on him (Master Li) as the Chinese government did a big smear campaign on him to discredit the practice. The exercises are to help, but the main theory is that of Gong. He says that you have Gong, which measures your level of attainment. The higher your gong, the more you have attained. The law of cause and effect is mainly how you increase gong. One main example he gives is not fighting back with people. For everything gained, something is lost, and for everything lost, something is gained. So when someone is mean to you, mistreats you, they increase their bad karma, and in turn you get some of their good karma that they gave to you. Your gong grows a little bit. That is part of the idea anyway. The practitioners never really seem to talk about what they have attained, as much as they talk about how their outlook and attitude has changed, so it is hard to gauge what people are getting from it. Ken Cohen did an article on his opinion of it, you might be able to google it. Last time I tried I couldn't find it anymore, and notice he is now advertising it on his site, so maybe no more free reads? So to summarize, if it just came down to the books and exercises I would recommend it, but once you get past that, there is a lot more that I was just not willing to accept. Hope that helps Pranaman!

GreatTao-Courses From Li Jiong's website. Hope that helps!
  4. Hi Lino, I don't know. My intent usually just ends up blocking me when it comes to energy work. I just open up and let go. Just sitting here though, I can feel it's easier for me to accept the earth's energy than to send mine into the earth. The earth has way more to give me than I can send down to it. I think if the earth can send up and we can sink down, there can be a good exchange and connection? Peace!
  5. I am back

Hi, Just wondering how some of you who have gotten the course are enjoying the practice? I started with the Wuji Standing. I don't know exactly why, but in the next week I had purchased the other two courses too. I've been practicing for about two weeks now. What I've noticed most is better energy, but still balanced with relaxation and calm. My feet and legs feel strong and relaxed and really cleared out. Refreshed. The courses blend really well with each other, and build on the previous. I've only been practicing the first form from the Bagua set, I think there are 9 or 10 total, and I really like the circle walking. The first form is for grounding and it seems to be working well for me. I used to get too much energy from Standing practices, and this seems to balance that out. Peace, Junbao
  6. Standing Qigong has been working great for me. And I've been doing some Bagua circle walking from Li Jiong's course that's been really good at grounding me out. More so than I have felt for a while. Also corps pose from yoga can really teach your body to relax. But really a big idea behind standing practice is for the purpose of rooting. Standing like a tree and putting down roots.
  7. practice for happy living?

Yeah Hundun, Thanks for the reminder. This is something I had been meaning to do every morning, and had forgotten all about it. I also find it helps me to think of anyone I am having problems with, not outward conflicts, but unresolved emotional feelings toward, and try to turn it into something more positive. To see something good in what I seem to have a problem with. Do that enough times, and it's not too long before you see the positive things, and the negative is no longer in view. Great timing Hundun as this is something I need to work on right now with someone at work.

hey billb, Sorry I'm not familiar with Winn's form, but if you look on the first page of this thread, there is a picture of Li Jiong doing this form. Hope that helps!

OK! Sure thing Sheng Zhen, I will let you know. Have you checked out the Bagua video on the group site? Yeah, the one thing missing in Course 1 that is in Wuji standing is the Secret Strength.
  10. I am back

Well, I got the Wuji standing course, and although it is short and simple, it has what it needs. There is the standing posture, with some points on posture and some other little tidbits that were new to me. The main thing that is different it the Secret Strength that goes along with the standing. Not to give it out here, but it is something internal that you would not notice by simply looking at a photo or video. I have found that for me it builds energy really fast, and so at the moment about 5-10 minutes does it for me. One thing I really like is being able to ask questions and Li Jiong is really good about responding. It's a big difference than just learning from a book without a teacher around. Sometimes you have little questions and it help to have them cleared up. Also he has video clips to view from both Course 1 and Course 2 so I checked those out and decided to get Course 1. It's more standing, a few different types, but split up with movements in between. I have only practiced a couple of times so far, but it seems to do a good job a smoothing out the energy generated from the standing. There is some Taoist theory at the beginning, and some recommendations for practice at the end. Some I have already read, some is new to me. I like the fact that the course is simple, but not simplistic. It has what it needs to make it effective, but not excess stuff to confuse things. I'm going to check out Course 2 later this week. I guess 1 and 2 can really go together, 1 being standing, and 2 moving around the circle (Bagua). I check back and let you know how it goes. Peace!
  11. Who is /are Max's Egyptian teachers?

Hi WYG! Really, I don't practice Kunlun. I heard about it here. I got the book and gave it a try just because so many people here with a long history of practicing cultivation seemed to be getting good benefits. I tried it for a couple weeks, and nothing amazing happened for me. I just respect people who DO get something out of it. I think it's great, and of course there is a part of me that wishes I could experience what they have for myself. But I can't force it, and if it doesn't work for me then I can look elsewhere. This might be a crappy analogy, but if I wanted a new car, I would drive some of them and see which one worked best for me. I wouldn't ask the salesperson their employment history. It seems like you don't really have to ask anything of Max other than to teach you the exercises. And if they work for you then great, you have some good tools. You don't have to live on Kunlun ranch, or sell Kunlun flowers downtown, or disseminate the truth of Kunlun salvation for all.... I do respect you for having the guts to ask honest questions. So, about the Egypt thing....Egyptian Number Theory....really great stuff. I think Pythagoras' theories are based mostly on this. Using numbers to describe and define creation and the universe. I had a good book on it once, but I can't recall the name of it.
  12. Who is /are Max's Egyptian teachers?

I'm sorry WYG, I don't like to be conflicting with people, I just felt bad about when you typed, "its really hard to sit here and watch suckers get pulled in you all must be really missing a big hole in your life" This came across as kind of offensive to people that practice Kunlun. I do like the questions you pose too, but sometimes it seems like when you don't get the answer your looking for you can't leave it alone? You can always ask, but people might not always have or want to give the answer you are looking for. Please accept my apologies for jumping in. I don't want to be critical or judgmental of you, and I guess I was a bit. Peace!
  13. Who is /are Max's Egyptian teachers?

Asking questions is great! Demanding answers and name calling not so great. You choose. Just my opinion. Carry on!
  14. I am back

Hi Li Jiong, I like the spinning Taiji symbol. The music is really nice too. I would almost like to have the music begin automatically when you load the page. Then have one toggle button where you can turn the music off or back on. The music adds something peaceful, and I think encourages someone to relax and look around the site. And then if they find it distracting they can turn it off. I wish I knew what the Chinese characters said. Then I might understand more about the site. Best of luck to you. Keep me updated on your progress.
  15. I am back

I am going to be starting with the Wuji Standing. I think there is some info in there that is not in the Cultivation 1 course. I'll let you know how it goes.
  16. I am back

sheng zhen, If you don't mind me asking, did you start with the Wuji Standing Course, or the Cultivation 1 course. Thanks!
  17. new kunlun book

Thanks Phore! I'm guessing that since the practices are all in the book, they are all ok to practice at the same time, just in different sessions or something like that? I guess there is nothing in there that indicates how to incorporate them into a workable routine. I got the Kunlun schedule from the book Pillars of Bliss, but I was just wondering how this new stuff works into that. Like I do 5 elements before Kunlun 1 and it seems to work pretty good. Maybe Chris can shed some light if he stops by.
  18. new kunlun book

Phore, I just got Pillars of Bliss about a month ago. In the new book, does he tell you how to incorporate the new exercises into the basic Kunlun practice? I just want to make sure not to mix things up. So I was hoping some kind of recommended schedule or some direction was laid out. Also, is Red Phoenix included at all in the new book? I'm planning to order this week. Is there anything in Pillars of Bliss that is NOT in the new book? If it's all there and just new stuff added, I wouldn't mind giving my Pillars of Bliss copy to someone, like Findley. Thanks for any answers and have a good day!
  19. Dan Tien Death Star!

Seth, When I first heard about your Dan Tien Death Star secrets I thought to myself, wow self, this really seems too good to be true. But after trying out your secret techniques all I can really say is WOW, this Dan Tien Death Star stuff is for real. Before Dan Tien Death Star came into my life I was weak, forgetful, and had poor vision. Now I can crush plastic bottles with my bare hands, remember up to four things at one time, and shoot laser beams out of my eyes. NO KIDDING. I know it's hard to believe, but seriously, if he charges more than you think you can afford, doesn't it have to be good??? You shouldn't even question the cost, just pay and learn this stuff, don't question the master.
  20. Bye for now!

Yeah, thanks for your ideas and input on things. Always nice to read and from a positive perspective. Good luck, and I hope you don't have any nasty withdrawal symptoms, quitting the internet cold turkey and all!
  21. Walking

Yeah, I like this topic! So, how about with jogging? Has anyone applied these type of principals to jogging? In Spring Forest system something is mentioned about it in the book. Something about holding the hands or arms and making a tai chi symbol or something but I did not quite understand it. Anyone have any good suggestions? I would love to hear them.
  22. Pranaman, you didn't start with yourself. What do you like to do outside of cultivation? I like cycling, running, loafing on the computer, working on music and mixes on my laptop. Being outside in the mountains. Cooking dinner for the wife and myself. I just got an old Honda Sport scooter to work on and restore. I'm also interested to see what other kinds of things people here enjoy doing!
