  1. Ive only had the privilege of observing first hand two people come through this stage. Myself and another male, so im not an expert on the feminine kundalini symbolism. I did have one lover who talked about foxes and snakes being important animals to her. I think that foxes may be connected to ovarian energy. she was still in the process of learning at the time.
  2. The basic stuff that you start off with is relaxing, learning to breath, opening the chakras, and running the orbits through the functional and governor channels. This part of the training is usually passed on through oral tradition from teacher to student. The teacher must be able to transfer the techniques energetically to the students. The state of nonordinary reality must be introduced to the student in some way. Stillness meditation alone (without the alchemy) could trigger this process given a lifetime of practice. I personally find that it is best to play around with stillness techniques, but leave the true sitting and forgetting for when you can go so far nowhere that you don't feel compelled to remember that somewhere when your done. Sexual alchemy will do the trick. Taoist yoga has a pretty balanced approach to the whole thing. http://www.biologyofkundalini.com/ heres a great rescource for info relating to spiritual awakening. http://kundaliniawakeningprocess.com/ This website has a distance learning program that will teach you basically everything you need to know about yoga and qigong. Its how i learned the techniques i have been using for years now. For some "oral tradition" check out Timothy Leary, Terrence Mckenna, and Carlos Castaneda.
  3. The Brain that Changes Itself

lol scientists may not really know Ive been using hypnotherapy, meditation, and nlp for years now. I dont think that any of this stuff would work very well without neuroplasticity. Im adopting this theory for its practical application
  4. teaching qigong?

sounds like a good skill set. can you see auras? can you tell a person what to do if they experience one of the many different kinds of chi sickness. Can you guide anyone through a spiritual awakening (things will get messy if you cant). take into account the safety of your students, then act with benevolence, integrity and skill.
  5. The kundalini is the Sanskrit term for alchemical awakening. The taoists call it the enlightenment of the fire and water and there are 3 levels to it. Its connecting the genitals to the brain through the spinal cord. A deliberate awakening is preced by a few things. the microcosmic orbit begins running First the 5 elemental energies that make up the body fuze together and the newly formed spirit baby may poke its head out to say hello to the world. Second the psychic channels will open and you will begin to be able to see hear and feel the spirit world. 1st enlightenment- Then you meet the snake. A divine being He will introduce himself and begin guide you through alchemically forging the philosophers stone. 2nd enlightenment- the bubbling springs begin erupt filling the body with rainbow light showers in a mind blowing experience. It cleans out your channels and and sacrifices your ego to the gods. you merge with the snake. the mind learns to rest in silence and presence while the divine energy does your thinking for you. 3rd enlightenment is about fine tuning the advanced alchemical mechinisms and learning to use your new energy. meditation takes on unprecedented depth. qigong becomes as natural as movement which becomes quite a bit more natural too. after the enlightenments you are ready to begin the more advanced stages involving becoming an immortal wanderer denizen of the celestial realms. In my personal opinion, if a spiritual teacher hasn't figured out how to use these mechanisms then he isn't a spiritual teacher. If a person is going to make a claim to enlightenment, then they need to have at least enough awareness to be able to use their body correctly (sexual alchemy is our forgotten birthright), and enough spiritual purity to pass through the sacred fire without burning up (diamond body anyone?)
  6. teaching qigong?

Where do you stand alchemically. Hows your intuition. Do you see through a glass darkly or could you draw detailed diagrams of the bodys energy system from what you see with your third eye. can you astral project. what do your guides say?
  7. meditation for geeks

ive been around some nerds playing fable 3 for a week straight and one of them even slipped into a polyphasic sleeping state. Thinking of nothing but the heroes journey for very long periods of time qualifies as meditation right?
  8. sub me dawgz

great answers everyone My answer that came to me while i was meditating in the snow today is rainbow sherbet spiked with acid.

  10. sub me dawgz

If haggen-dazz made a flavor of ice cream called "enlightenment" what would it taste like?
  11. Reiki?

I agree with this entrely. Reiki has all kinds of benefits. Reiki energy is in nature very gentile and healing. Allowing it to flow through your body is a great experience that has all kinds of long run benefits. I can see how neophytes might be weary of allowing a full-blown kundalini shaktipat to run through their chakras on a regular basis, but reiki energy should be about as stressful as a walk in the park, at a very chill pace. It needs to be used in conjunction with qigong. Reiki naturally raises energy and energy sensitivity. As this grows the attunements you recieved in the beginning have less meaning and you kind of go into a freeform healing state where you can channel lots of universal energy. Reiki is like a beginners tool that grows into an advanced skillset.
  12. Relaxation, a Natural rooting.

Ive checked out bruce frantzis audio program "the tao of letting go" Its good stuff but its kind of slow. I do deep relaxation exercises similar to what he describes all the time anyways. I usually go through my entire body and let go of tension/breath in relaxation, part by part. Its almost the same as what the first two hours of his audio program were about. Ive actually known a few smokers that relax into it so much that they forget to smoke for weeks at a time. They usually only smoke in social situations.
  13. Robert Bruce - Call To Action!

when we get this family going we should all pitch in and build a commune in south america.
  14. Tao meets the Druids

Ive always tended towards shamanic nature based spiritualities. I find that Taoism, druidism, and native American practices seem to be in my programming. I feel like Ive practiced them in past lives. I think its important to commune and learn from nature spirits if you plan on following a path like this. So i support the notion that OBE (out of body experience) is one of the clearest ways to find guidance. Opening the psychic senses to the spiritual realm is also very important. Im currently looking for a "dragon" which is a naturally grown wand with a spiral pattern from vines growing along it. I may have to wait for spring on this matter.
  15. Robert Bruce - Call To Action!

  17. Robert Bruce wants you!

this looks pretty cool. Ive read some of his books a few years back. He seems like he knows what hes doing.
  18. Lucid dreaming

I have been practicing various forms of dream yoga over the years. Some things helped more than others. Heres basic taoist dream yoga principles: Pray to the gods (some talk of a goddess) of the dream world before you go to sleep and after you wake up and remember your dreams. Place a container of water next to your bed on level with your head. (i use a crystal goblet of alpine spring water and drink it when i wake up.) Water is the element connected with dreams. Practice whole body relaxation as you fall asleep. I find that i enter a trance state and it deepens into a dream then later to deep sleep (which can also become a lucid experience) There are a few dream herbs that can help you learn to achieve lucidity. The one i recommend is xhosa dream herb. The shamans traditionally brewed it in some tea. edt:fixed the link
  19. Death

    nice
  20. I agree with your post, but i wish to point out that a lot of martial arts incorporate this philosophy, and even in more combat oriented arts masters usually apply this philosophy to their own arts.
  21. yes actually it does. Heres an example: one time an elderly gypsy woman approached my register at walmart where I worked for a while. Using her sleight of hand skills she removed $1200 from my cash drawer. When i was informed of this fact by my managers later, i felt a strange sensation. It was not remorse. My intuition told me that it was good for a gypsy to be running around, causing trouble for evil corporations. The security video was put on the news and the gypsy was painted as a criminal. In my mind I encountered a great hero. Otherwise my intuition would have alerted me to any negative vibes she was carrying around. I thought that she was a really nice person. The idea that crime is relative is supported by the fact that it changes in relation to the factors involved.
  22. Letting go

It comes in waves, forever growing, always flowing.
  23. Crime is relative Harmony and balance change the world without effort. Lovin the phoenix jones link
  24. Reiki?

I use reiki all the time. On my self, on others, to bless food, and everyonce in a while i feel the need to go into my back yard and shoot a particularly large reiki bolt towards the neighboring city. My experience is that harnesing universal energy is a practice that is almost a universal skill among adept energy practicioners. Whether you call it reiki or whatever. Reiki is a great beginner practice for developing energy sensitivity, and when their qigong is sufficiently advanced it is a great healing practice. It naturally integrates with qigong, shiatsu, acupuncture and really anything that could use a little extra juice. reiki rescources to get you started: http://xehupatl.com/ http://www.aetw.org/d_jrt.htm
  25. [TTC Study] Chapter 15 of the Tao Teh Ching

I think that this is lao tzus way of saying that sages have been around longer than anyone can remember. I think that the Yellow Emperor ( an ancient master who predates Lao Tzu) was probably a hero of Lao Tzu in his youth. To him the Yellow Emperor would be considered a sage of antiquity. The yellow emperor probably had some even more ancient master as a role model. We as taobums admire the sages of antiquity ourselves, otherwise we wouldnt put so much stock in the tao-te-ching (which happens to be written by a sage of antiquity) In fact, some anthropologists (like terrence mckenna) believe that during the early stages of human societies, before the concept of ownership and egos arise, we live in more harmonious and balanced social structures. European pagans hold that before the rise of the current unbalanced patriarchal western society and the industrial revolution, we all lived out in the woods practicing our native forms of spirituality which included alchemical transformation and harmony with nature. I see history as a series of civilizations rising and falling, resulting in a series of light and dark ages. In the light ages technology and knowledge develop. In the dark ages we return to harmony with nature and balance.
