In this quote ramana maharshi does not seem to be indicating that raising the Kundalini is unnecessary. From my reading he is saying that physical methods (churning up the nadis) are unimportant. He seems to be suggesting that when the mind is in alignment with the self the kundalini rises without the physical methods. His particular statement "The Shakti of Kundalini, which is not apart from the self" taken with his method of raising Kundlaini without physical practice suggests that he views the experience of Kundalini as universal, as opposed to a phenomonon confined to specific indian systems. He furthermore suggests that the Kundalini is not apart from the self. His further discourse points out that viewing the Kundalini as a physical process that has mental or spiritual effects is from the perspective of the duality of the body and self. Veiwing the Kundalini as a spiritual/ mental process that has physical effects is a nondual perspective. This taken together suggests that he was indicating that his method of raising the kundalini works directly with the subjective (pretaining to the subject or self) nature of the Kundalini, as opposed to approaching the Kundalini from an objective (pretaining to object or the body) perspective. I find that Ramanas words on bringing the Kundalini down into the heart and the sushuma being a curve, suggests a Tao connection, as it sounds similar to the practice of the Microcosmic orbit. Concerning the correlation between the Greater Kan and Li with the Full blown Kundalini Experience, I believe Glenn Morris Verifies this in Pathnotes of an American Ninja Master. Love and Light Tony

In my experience caffiene creates imbalance in the energy system. It seems to deplete energy by using it rapidly. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Caffeine_dependence You could try yerba mate, its got a relatively low caffiene content with other alkaloids that produce a more balanced stimulation. Could you help us to understand these statements by expounding the mechanism that allows light to decalfify the Pineal Gland? Also it seems that getting enough rest would involve darkness, or were you speaking of metaphysical darkness? Love and Light Tony

Is there any evidence that DMT is produced in the Pineal Gland
phore replied to phore's topic in General Discussion
Good observations. I sometimes think of DMT as the psychic equivalent of a thumbprint. Whenever people consume DMT they report all sorts of strange experiences, but when they experience their own DMT in the dream state, the experience is so seamless that people tend to think its real. Experiencing the DMT of of a plant or a synthetic process, is to communicate with the intelligence that produced the crystal. From a spiritual perspective it is useless to get caught up in some other Karmic pattern while trying to transcend your own. Love and Light Tony -
You bring up an interesting point. Essentiallly you point out two important observations. 1. The breathing practice of tummo and Kundalini are virtually the same. Additionally both practices involve taking the energy in the lower central channel and directing them upwards. Both exercises produce psychic/spiritual experiences. 2. The psychic visualizations and experiences vary somewhat in their description. So lets suppose we took two people practicing two different types of breathing that looked essentially the same. These two people sitting side by side would look as if they were practicing basically the same thing. The difference would be in their minds. One would be visualizing tibetan buddhist symbols, while one would be visualizing hindu symbols. The nature of the kundalini experience is a spiritual/ psychic experience. I once knew a girl who was laying in a tent with someone who was expeirencing a full blown Kundalini Awakening. While the person experiencing Kundalini, reported full bodied orgasmic ecstacy, a rainbow colored light snake, projecting into a higher realm, and visions of Kali, the girl laying a few feet away experienced nothing of the sort. This indicates that the Kundalini awakens in an individuals mind and consciousness. This is an important observation, because it suggests that all reports of the Kundalini that we possess must be subjective, because they must have all occured to individual subjects. I recognize that the effects of these experiences can be viewed by others, such as Kundalini active individuals glowing, becoming more open and loving, experiencing physiological changes, ect, but the physiological changes result from experiences that take place in individual minds. The nature of Kundalini to act in the higher centers, as well as the visionary nature of the experiences themselves suggest that DMT from the pineal gland is largely involved in the process of Kundalini Awakening. If DMT is involved then it will lend not only the rich mental visuals of the dream state, but also other properties of the dream state as well. The most relevant property of dreams to consider in this context is the tendency for dreams to conform to the dreamers expectations. This property is commonly observed by lucid dreamers and is discussed by Stephen Laberge PHD in his book Exploring the World of Lucid Dreaming. In his book he notes that if he expects that one of his lucid dreaming techniques will work in a certain way, then it does for him. This same technique will not necessarily work in the same way for others whose expectations are different. This is a critically important observation if we belive that DMT (Dreame Hormone) is in any way involved in the Kundalini Experience. If this is true than what individuals experience in Kundalini is based on their own expectations. This conforms to my experience with Kundlaini. 1. A person who practices Shiavism, is initiated into Shiavism, and belives in Shiavism, will likely experience a serpent, Kali, and the Chakras. 2. A person whi practices tibetan buddhism, is initiated into tibetan buddhism, and believes in tibetan buddhism, will likely experience different colored drops in the body, and maybe some buddhas, tantric deites and bodhisattvas. 3. A person who practices Qigong, is initiated into qigong, and believes in qigong, may just experience energy, with some Tao centric imagery, like a yin body projecting out of the physical body 4. Dante Aligheri who practiced Chriastianity, was initiated into Christianity, and Belived in Christianity, experienced the inferno, the purgatorio, and the paradisio, along with beatrice (a woman he was in love with) Virgil (a poet he admired), and a rosy cross. Haiving this occur in the participants mind in concordance with the participants expectations can all be attributed to DMT. This mechanism sheds light on some commopn guidelines in energetic systems. 1. Initiation into the system is recommeded so that the symbols are given proper importance in the persons mind. 2. Bhakti is important so that the participant will expect to experience the process as a predictable and loving experience. 3. Mixing systems is frowned upon because the symbols might be experienced simultaneously, and may limit the teachers abiltiy to help. The teacher who has practiced qigong for 75 years may have no experience with Tibetan Buddhism. I once guided a Woman throguh a Kundalini Awakening. She had no particular devotion to the symbols of Shiavism (Chakras, Kali, Shiva, Kundalini Serpent) which I used primarily. She had initiated the process as she gradually let go of her childhood faith is Southern Baptist Christianity. The process went very smoothly for her until she insisted on telling her mom about her experiences. What occured then was a terrible case of symbolic cross contamination. Her mom and a Christian friend convinced the lady that she was participating in Devil worship, the Serpent had marked er as its own, demons were communicating to her through me thier messenger, and she was surely going to hell unless she repented and accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as her savior. This process changed her expectations and the previously blissful Kundalini experience became nightmarish for her. She considered suicide multiple times, and was afraid of her own mind for over a year. She did even out eventually, and began to love the Kundalini again. She raises it like its candy these days. The experience of the Kundalini tends to overload the ego and produce individuals who believe that they are enlightened. This is soemthimes called "Wild Fox Enlightenment" or "Stinking With Enlightenment." The ego is dazed during the initial shock of the experience, and gradually reasserts itself. Egos in this stage like to sit around and think up funny names for themselves, such as enlightened being, Lama, Rinpoche, Sorcerer, Master, Grandmaster, Guru, Bodhisattva or Swami. Beings at this stage do not possess perfect psychic clarity, as they may commonly claim. They have simply discovered the nondual nature of thier self, and have become disoriented by the occurance. This is why there is such a great degree of vairation in the reported experiences of Kundalini, even within the same system. The nondual nature of the experience allows peoples minds to interpret the experience however they want, with whatever symbols they like. The true masters regognize this and do not dwell on the symbols so much. They do not say "Im enlightened and your not, so you need to meditate for 20 years to be like me." They say "Were all gods Children." These beings who experience the initial awakening of the Kundalini may eventually lay the ego to rest. At this point the being may become a clear channel for divine energy, such as Krishna or Yeshua. At this point the person will begine to naturally speak from a nondual perspective, and confuse people, who interpret thier words dualistically, for thousands of years. "I am the way, the truth, and the Light, and nobody comes to the father but by me." Other beings may recognize the confusing potential of nonduality, and refuse to address it directly. This is the foundation of Tao and Zen. "The Tao that Can Be spoken Is not the eternal Tao" -Lao Tzu In my opinion this is why descriptions of the experience vary greatly. The expreience is a subjective one, so its only natural. I belive expectations are why people experience many of the problems with Kundalini awakening as well. For example, take the belief of the existence of a second nerve in the spine that the Kundalini may rise up that will drive the practicioner insane and eventually kill him. I believe that this came into the popular consciousness with the publcation of Gopi Krishnas book Kundalini the Evolutionary Energy in Man. In Glenn Morris's Kundalini Awakening Process this possiblity is never mentioned. Practicioners of Morris's system regularly raise the Kundalini and this issue never comes up. In Gopi Krishnas book Gopi searches all over for a Kundalini awakened individual to help him. He only finds a yoga teacher who has heard of the Kundalini but never raised it himself. The teacher passes on the myth of this second nerve. Gopi immediately beleves that this is what has happened to him and continues to suffer for years. For KAP students, who dont believe in this possiblity, it doesn't happen. This is another example of how expectations shape the experience of Kundalini, Love and Light Tony

Ive used borax water for years. I usually do 4 days on 4 days off. I mix 2 tablespoons with a liter of water to make a concentrated solution. Then I add a Tablespoon of the concentrated solution to a glass of water once or twice a day. http://www.health-science-spirit.com/borax.htm Heres an old thread on this: http://thedaobums.com/topic/27639-flouride-detox-with-borax/ Love and Light Tony

Thank you. Concerning the flourescent light. I was once in a house that had a very old flourescent light. It seemed to flash slower than newer ones. My friends and I took the back of a spoon, and waved it back and forth really fast (Like you would do with a chinese fabric fan) the spectrum of light expanded on the back of the spoon into a lot of off purple and green. As has been noted Kashmir shiavism makes references to Kundalini energy. This may be verified in the works of swami Lakshmanjoo (as has been previously mentioned) and in the Works of Abhinivagupta. This is discussed in Self- Realization in Self Realization Kashmir Shiavism: the oral teachings of Swami Lakshmanjoo by John Hughes, and Kashmir Shiavism: the Secret Supreme by Swami Lakshmanhoo. Heres a link to an exerpt of Self Realization in Kashmir Shiavism on this forum. http://thedaobums.com/topic/36257-kashmir-shaivism-the-nine-types-of-grace-of-siva/ Here is a link to Advanced Yoga Practices: http://www.aypsite.org/54.html The title of this article is: Kundalini a codeword for sex. There is also a whole section of the site concerned with Tantra and kundalini. In Taoist Yoga: Alchmemy and Immortality By Charles Luk cultivating and raising the sexual energy at the preorgasmic level is the core of the practices presented. In Mantak Chias Healing Tao System The Kundalini is equated with the Kan and Li process. I know there is a chapter about this in Awaken Healing Energy through the Tao by Mantak Chia. I believe that the article is in the updated version Awaken Healing Light Through the Tao, but I cant verify this right now. Glenn morris verifies this claim in Pathnotes of an American Ninja Master. Morris clarifies that the difference between the practice in Tao vs Indian systems, is that the Tao systems place emphasis on bringing the energy down the conceptional vessel once it is raised, and continuing to circulate it throughout the body. In the common Indian model the energy rises into the brain and exits through the crown. Morris feels that too much Kundalini in the brain, can lead to Kundalini Psychosis. He recommends touching the tongue to the roof of the mouth and circulating. Morris's Kundalini Awakening Process program, uses a variety of methods including Tao, Tantra, Buddhism (including Tummo), and a few others. It has an excellent track record of producing Kundalini Awakening experiences in Individuals. I have spoken to many of these individuals, and completed the course myself.. The program is currently headed by Santiago Dobles. The success of these different techniques at achieving this end suggests that despite various philosophical differences, people around the world have found this energy worth cultivating. http://www.kundaliniawakeningprocess.com/ The above books and authors are very informative on the Kundalini. Using the above information as a foundation, I would say that any Tao , Tantric, or oher school that speaks of directing the sexual or orgasmic energy upwards or circulating the sexual or orgasmic energy is speaking about the phenomonon referred to in tantra as Kundalini. In the typical orgasm most people expeience a moment where their concious minds are overidden and they breakthrough into and ecstatic state of consciousness. Then the charged virya is expelled through the genetals and the kundalini energy along with it. When the Kundalini energy is raised it produces the ecstatic sensation, associated with orgasm, in a sustainable way. The sensation of a large kundalini awakening may last for an elongated period of time. The ecstatic breakthough that occurs in the orgasm is extendid for the duration of the kundalini rising experience. This typically results in experiences of a distinctly psychic or spiritual nature. The person in this case experiences life beyond the ego. The ego comes back after the initial rise but the person does not forget the egoless state. If a person learns to raise the kundalini energy at will through practice and experimentation, the person may experience that egoless state at will. This egoless state tends to translate into a totality of experience (nonduality). The reason why people seek to raise the Kundalini is because it is an ecstatic path to nondual awareness. Many traditions consider the kundalini as a lesser path, because of the sexual connotations. Tantric, Tao and other traditions consider the Kundalini to be a natural occurance conducive to rapid spiritual awakening. Love and Light Tony

Thanks for the links Drew and Apeiron. It looks like they only came out with these studies last year, so I can see why erowid hasnt updated their records yet. Drew, In another thread recently you mentioned that blue light inhibits the synthesis of melatonin. I assume that this would also inhibit the formation of DMT. Could you explain this mechanism in more detail. Does this mean that it would not be detrimental to the pineal gland to sleep in the presence of other colors of light, such as pink or purple light? Thank you Love and Light Tony -
I cant comment on the specific product, as i have had no experience with it. I live near Hot Springs, Arkansas. I go there to aquire all of the water that I use to drink or cook with. I have also worked at a bath house in Hot Springs and used the facilities extensively. This water contains many electrolytes, but contains high concentrations of silica (quartz). The water is extensively purified by being filtered through volcanic rocks. This area was known allover the Americas, from northern Canada to South America, as being a sacred healing location. The Native americans would make extensive pilgrimages to this spot and some still do this today. The place was considered sacred and the waters were considered to be very healing. In the early 1900's the public bathouses were opened in this area, and known to treat a wide varieties of illnesses, most notably venerable disease. Today the water is known internationally for its healing benefits. Many Europeans and americans, and Asians travel from all over the world to stay in hot springs for a few weeks and visit the bathhouses every day. My coworkers had even heard of foreign doctors recommending a course of bath treatments lasting two weeks or longer. Over the years I have met people who travel long distances to fill up their water bottles at the springs. I once met a couple who drive all the way from texas, regularly, to fill up their water tanks at the springs. These people believe that this water has provided them with immeasurable health benefits. In my experience energetically charged water has great benefits. Love and Light Tony

Do Taoist Yoga Nidra/Dream Yoga Practices Exist?
phore replied to Oneironaut's topic in Daoist Discussion
I believe that in Ken Cohens work, he speaks very breifly about Tao dream yoga. He basically says that dreams are connected to the element of water, so in Tao Dream yoga you keep a bowl of pure water by your bed. This approach suggests that this form of Tao dream yoga is working in the following levels: 1. Ritualistic- By taking the time to preform the action of placing a bowl of water by your bed, you are maintaining an awareness of your intent to experience lucid and meaningful dreams. 2. Symbolic- The action of leaving the bowl of water by your bed presents a symbol of lucid dreaming to the mind. As the mind is primarily unconscious in the dream state and the unconscious mind communicates in a symbolic language, you are communicating your intention to experience lucid dreams to you unconscious mind in its own language. 3. Energetic- The energetic influence of the water is suggested to enhance ones ability to enter into the water dominant dream state consciously. This approach seems characteristic of tao philosophy. Accomplish means in a simple and graceful action, without effort (watery approach). It seems like it could offer an alternative to practicioners who find the common western approach to lucid dreaming to be innefective due to the stress of consciously placing emphasis on the practices (firey approach). To others this practice could offer a balance to the buddhist and western approaches. In this case the practice of both aspects might enhance each other. I am interested in learning of other Tao Dream techniques as well. Love and Light Tony -
What happened to the extinguishing the sex drive thread?

Once you really get the hang of raising the Kundalini energy on an at will basis, through circulation and tantric orgasm, sexuality can be difficult to maintain. Gleen morris and Mantak chia both have observed this in their books. Glenn morris makes a joke that these techniques "are nore than effective as a means to birth control." and refers to "the softening of the hard" (forgive me if the quotes arent exact my copies of pathnotes are currently in hiding) This refers to the control of the ejaculatory response and the fact that when the kundalini energy is sucessfully raised then arousal may be difficult to achieve. Mantak Chia notes in one of his Taoist love books that a multi-orgasmic woman may only be interested in having sex once per week or less. This also refers to the redistribution of the sexual energy into the rest of the body. Once the energy leaves the sexual centers the feeling from the sexual standpoint is similar to the feeling of achieving a downwards energy expulsive genetal orgasm. The sexual centers will become inactive and people tend to lose interest in the sexual act. The difference is that while a genetal orgasm will lead to overall energetic depletion, the tantric orgasm will kick the higher ceners into overdrive. Its the difference between fallin asleep and having a ecstatic, heart-mind expanding, experience of pure love. There is a tendency to scatter the energy in the higher centers once the energy reaches those points. This scattering is a very philosophical process, and if not halted then will result in the person losing interest during the sexual act, while experiencing visionary and intuitive states. If the person manages to redirect this energy back into the sexual centers, the sexual act becomes a gental, healing and loving experience, as opposed to a driven and compulsive one. The redistribution of the enrergy through this process is one of the most pleasurable practices you can adopt. It will lead to consistant and easy to achieve results, as opposed to sporadic ones. Have you tried Vitex castus/ Chasteberry/ Monks pepper. Its a herb that has traditionally been used to reduce libido. The name chasteberry refers to its ability to help preserve chastity. The name monks pepper comes from the extensive use of this herb by monks to reduce sex drive. Greek women were said to sleep on this herb when their husbands were away at war. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vitex_agnus-castus http://www.herbwisdom.com/herb-agnus-castus.html Its known to increase progesterone. If progesterone levels are significantly higher than estrogen it tends to turn off the sex drive in women. High progesterone levels tell the body that it is pregnant and should be preparing to give birth, not having sex. I would try chasteberry before resulting to anything unnatural. That aside the best method for reducing sex drive, is to bring your self to full-bodied, kundalini activating, orgasms until fully satisfied. This practice will reduce the energy concentration in the lower chakras and spread the kundalini energy to the other parts of the body. A lower energy concentration in the root and sacral chakra will greatly diminish sex drive. If you are practicing any energetic techniques that focus energy in the root chakra, discontinuing this practice will diminish the sex drive considerably. Minimizing the cultivation of energy in the sacral chakra will aid this effort as well. The key is to circulate the energy either through microcosmic orbit, or tantric orgasm. Love and light Tony

Hey Dawg, It sounds like you've had an authentic Kundalini Awakening. Since your initial experience, has the Kundalini rising experience (complete with mystical experience) occurred multiple times or only the time you have mentioned. Have the Kundalini sensations intensified? I recognize of course that once you have your initial experience of the Kundalini, the second time or hundredth time is not as surprising. I am merely asking if the Kundalini experiences have continued. Love and Light Tony

I haven't heard of anyone testing this before now. Ph (Potential of Hydrogen) is essentially a measure of ions a solution forms in water. Acids form positive hydrogen ions. Stronger acids form more positive hydrogen ions than weak acids. Bases form negative hydroxide ions. Stronger bases form more negative hydroxide ions than weaker bases. From an energetic perspective the level of acidity of water is a measure of the amount of positively charged molecules in the water. The level of alkalinity (basic) of water is a measure of the amount of negatively charged molecules in the water. Charging water with energy is a common practice by energy workers. Even sitting water near you when you meditate is known to charge the water with energy in some individuals. If you possess litmus paper you may try projecting energy into water then testing it for a change. This will let you know if your energy is having an ionic effect, and whether you are producing negative or positive ions with your energy. If you were projecting a balance of energy you might cancel out the ionic effect. Negative ions (alkalinity) are widely known for their healing benefits. Deep breathing is known to alkalize the blood. According to a certain qigong theory concerning Kan and Li (fire and water, or hot and cold energy), in Yang Jwing-Mings, Qigong the Secret of Youth, Hot energy is good for healing short term but causes the body to break down and age faster in the long term, while cool energy preserves the body long term. This may explain why many Tao practitioners live on snowy mountain peaks. Love and Light Tony Edited to fix error pointed out by Brian.

Thats a good question. When I first experienced a Kundalini awakening, I tried eating red meat and smoking organic ciggerettes. This had a very grounding effect. It was helpful in the sense that if I was feeling like my mind was expanding beyond my ability to adapt to changes, the grounding experience would decrease this effect. At a certain point I decided that being grounded was sort of boring. I went organic vegetarian, cut the ciggerettes completely and started meditating about 6 hours a day in a shack our in a field behind my moms house. At this point with no grounding, my mind took off. This came with some bumps as I recognized certain egotistic patterns of suffering within my life. The key that I have discovered for dealing with this Is cultivating a feeling of unconditional love. This includes love in and of itself, love for others and love for myself. This does not mean unbridled and excessive giving. Sometimes you have to withhold energy to maintain the balance of true love. This comes along with cultivating an awareness of the heart. While the lower chakras tend to lead to sensual distractions when excessively cultivated, the upper chakras tend to lead to intellectual distractions when excessively focused upon. The heart chakra, being the metaphysical center of the human experience and the middle path, leads to a state of centered loving beingness, without attachment to excesses. Looking back on the experience I actually find that being grounded was actually, more harmful to me than being ungrounded. Were taught to focus on superficial things like popularity, financial success, and the like by our social conditioning. By being grounded I seemed to be promoting these qualities. The awareness of love, and a heart centered existence tends to allow me to participate in these earthly activities with integrity while being pleasantly detached. In addition to the above, if a person is having trouble adapting to the higher realms (such as in Kundalini or spiritual crisis), I recommend the following: 1. Quit using or limit use of drugs. This includes obvious hard drugs, as well as alcohol, hallucinogens, and even sugar or caffeine. Use discretion if you are under a doctors care of course (mandatory disclaimer). 2. Read a good book. Chauang tzu, or Abhinivagupta are great choices. 3. Limit distracting activities. Western television, and violent video games tend to hinder these processes. 4. Meditate regularly. Great way to let go of stress, and energetic or psychological blockages. 5. Exercise regularly. Practices such as taichi and yoga, are great for sombining somatic and spiritual awareness. To sum it up, In my experience being ungrounded is generally preferable to being grounded, especially if you are centered in unconditional love. Love and Light Tony

Ive been a vegetarian for 4 years now. I was also a vegetarian for about a year and a half before that. The most important single piece of information needed to survive on a vegetarian diet is this: Combine beans and nuts with whole grains for most of your protein. I have used this for years and have gained considerable muscle compared to when i was eating meat. I have also spent a few weeks traveling and was not able to plan my own meals around this combination. I was eating a lot of eggs and vegetables during this time. I went from the most muscular I have ever been in my life, to incredibly skinny in those few weeks. Ive heard other people tell stories about how "they tried vegetarian diets and could not get enough protein." I wonder, when I hear these stories, how much of that could have been remedied by this combination. With a lacto-ovo vegetarian diet using this protein combination guideline, you should experience very few difficulties. From an energetic perspective, I have noticed that vegetarian diets produce a much lighter type of energy. This is conducive to energetic practices such as Qigong and Yoga. A vegetarian meal will not direct as much energetic attention to digestion as a meal with meat. You seem to have experienced something like this, in your original post. It seems to be a form ot teleempathy. Love and Light Tony

Whats your opinion on the "5 Tibetan Rites"
phore replied to de_paradise's topic in General Discussion
I used to use them before i discovered a Hatha Yoga Class. I believe if you take it for a core intensity workout, its probably pretty good. Have you heard of the "secret 6th rite?" Its a pc and abdominal clenching bandha exercise for pushing the energy upwards. http://thetaobums.com/topic/2615-6th-tibetan-the-big-draw/ I do like the spinning, just for fun. I prefer slow hatha yoga for muscles, and tantra/ kundalini for guiding the energy upwards. "IF you bend a bow too far it will break" -Lao Tzu I prefer to cultivate more peace in my exercise routines, although I do some intense Taichi at times. Love and Light Tony -
When you make a decision like this you have to establish a clear direction of practice. In this case you have two yogic practices and wish to focus on one practice. The heart and the crown chakra are connected. While the crown chakra is the gateway for energy from the higher self to flow into the human experience, the heart is the center of the divine in human experience. In my experience working with the crown chakra may just cause interference with the natural functioning of the gateway. This tends to lead to a sort of abstract intellectualism, and a sort of self righteous egotism. Working with the heart on the other hand will allow a person to gather and activate the divine energy. When the divine energy if flowing from the open heart the crown chakra will naturally open as more divine energy can be accepted by the heart. Working with the heart leads to actualizing the divine energy in the human incarnation. As above, so below, As within, so without. If the divine energy is not actualized then the divine energy can not serve its purpose, whether the crown is open or not. If you wish to cultivate the higher chakras, I recommend the throat and third eye. When these are combined with a primary focus on opening the heart, the result tends to be a great degree of communion between the human mind and the divine energy and a natural opening of the crown. Ive worked with both is the past and experienced the effects of either. I have also observed people, including teachers, who have emphasized either. Love and Light Tony

Is it possible to damage meridians/nerves w/ incorrect practice?
phore replied to carbonbreath's topic in General Discussion
Hello carbonbreath, After reading your post i do not believe that, your problems are permanent damage. Typically the more permanent types of damage come from incorrect physical practices, (such as incorrect yoga postures and such) If your problem is actually psychic, then it can typically be resolved. The most important practice I have found for general chakra maintainence is to cultivate awareness of unconditional love, and a feeling of unconditional love in each chakra. When dealing with Chakras, you may need to consider the parts of your life goverened by the chakras involded. The throat chakra governs issues concerning self expression, and communication between your heart and mind. The heart chakra governs issues concerning unconditional love, including self-love and love for others. When resolving blockages in these chakras you may need to consider bringing an attitude of unconditional love into these areas of your life. When there is a blockage in the microcosm (your etheric body), the macrocosm (your life) will be affected. You may find it beneficial to work through these blockages by addressing both the microcosmic and macrocosmic aspects. In addition i have written a complete guide to a series of chakra dowsing, and opening techniques suitable for beginners. You may find these techniques useful for treating your problem. http://easyphilosophy.com/2015/02/02/chakra-dowsing-and-opening-techniques/ Feel free to ask me if you have any questions. It depends on the phase, and season.
