Fantastic classic Yes song: Cheers, Satyalok

Hi Seth! Have you seen the these lectures on Abhinavagupta's Tantrasara? They are given by a scholar, but he relates many of the concepts in a practical manner. I would also be interested in any more links of Kashmiri Shavism from a non-scholarly position. Cheers, Satyalok

*Humbly accepts with grattitude* I may start going back to an I Chuan group that I attended a couple years ago. Master Ma Shuren, nephew of Yu Pengsi. Yu was among the first disciples of Wang Xiangzhai. Those guys do some empty force stuff, though I've not witnessed it. They advocate standing an hour a day...I tried to build up but it irritated my joints. I think I moved up too quickly in duration. Blessings, Satyalok

You are correct, the trial is not diksha..and I believe does not permanently awaken shakti. I rise at 4am every day..except weekends (5am). It's all driven by bhakti, as I am lazy by nature. Afternoon meditations are stronger for me, which is weird because they say early morning is best. That is the Brahma Muhurta, which is very auspicious for meditation.

Beautiful, thanks!

That diksha is your local time, wherever you may be. It's done by sankalpa (intention) of the master. I wouldn't fool around with this unless you're totally sincere and willing to do the hour (minimum) a day for lifetime. Only you know if it's your karma to do so. Cheers, Satyalok

Hey, I appreciate consideration from anyone. Santiago is obviously a talented dude, and I am open to suggestions. I also weigh information out to see if it rings true with my experience/intuition. I have to believe there's something out there that can help...that's why I keep trying Sincerely, Satyalok

Hey, I never said anything about Shakti hurting me I am open to being healed at EVERY moment, and I do believe in the possibility...I am merely saying it has not been my "experience" so far. That's why I am researching and making efforts to that end. Shakti has done many things for me on an emotional/spiritual level, the physical body does not appear to be number 1 priority for her. I'm sure there is an imbalance in me somewhere, but I definitely do not blame the Goddess for that, it is my own karma. To restate what I've said before, my entire sadhana is nothing more than surrender to Shakti, to remove my ego from the process. I do not tell her "You must heal xyz first, do not bother with what you are doing now!" Many inexplicable things happen to me which I cannot fathom. If you have some concrete advice, things you think that will help me (conjecture doesn't)...I am all ears! Sincerely, Satyalok

I've had the physical problems long before kundalini, so I know at least that an imbalanced kundalini is not the cause. I have no symptoms of kundalini syndrome either. I have never seen any scriptural or otherwise reference to kundalini healing you first and foremost. Maybe something you've done with your own efforts has been successful, I don't know. Who can know the depth of karma that is behind our afflictions? I think you are quick to judge the situation. Sincerely, Satyalok

Thanks, no problem with my kundalini....I've had precious few disturbances regarding that, the odd sleepless night here and there (when bliss runs deep). My point is mainly that kundalini has not "cured" my physical issues...hence my search for curative practices. I've done my fair share of taiji, bagua, and qigong to no avail...plus acupuncture, chiropractics, and western medicine. I need HIGH level healing. Sincerely, Satyalok

There seems to be quite a bit going on at these Wang Liping seminars beyond the simple posture of the full lotus, and that's what I'm really curious about. Drawing energy from celestial bodies, environment...and the experience of the channel energy flowing automatically. I feel massive amounts of energy flowing from my awakened kundalini (and a whole host of other amazing sensations), and sit in siddhasana as directed by shakti. I don't feel any "specific" SHO flows the way the blog describes (that flow in ren and du channels). I can LEAD the energy in the orbit, but that's not the same thing. I also haven't read too many accounts of traditional Healing Tao, or other qigongs where this happens in a short amount of time. I read an article from a prominent Bagua martial artist in Beijing who said this experience happened by walking the circle several hours a day for 2-3 years (with some degree of sexual control). My main interest is the SHO's reported ability to heal the body of illness and chronic pain (the latter of which I have not been able to shake no matter what). Sincerely, Satyalok

Edward, Are you able to share any details of how to go about filling the dantian while sitting in lotus? I'm pretty sure it would take much longer without Wang Liping's DAIGONG, but there would be many who could benefit from this knowledge. I'll understand if you took some "super secret, burn your eyes out" oath and cannot share. That seems to be common these days Cheers, Satyalok

These types of automatic kriya happen to me alot, lately all day long while I sit at the office. I usually get the root lock and kumbakha...with the air focused on particular energy wheels. The heart center yields a very blissful and orgasmic energy. Also, as the wheels begin to vibrate, they set up resonances with one another and much energy exchange between them can be felt. As the years have gone by, more kumbakha has made it's way into my sadhan. Watch for automatic kechari, things get interesting I would be curious if people are having these experiences. Cheers, Satyalok

It appeared that the crux was to fill dan tian with houtian (post-heaven) qi until it filled and then a conversion would take place to xiantian (pre-heaven) qi. Then it would automatically course through the orbit. The filling included drawing qi from many external sources, trees, stars, etc... Also, the instructor does "daigong", in which he coaxes qi to move in the student. Satyalok

Here's a blog of a senior instructor of his: Enter the Dragon Gate I'd like to know who can teach the Small Heavenly Orbit (SHO) that is described here. Cheers, Satyalok

Do you think simple standing is good? I've done a little the last couple of days. I'm not doing much with the energy other than contemplation of consciousness...and bringing more awareness to my everyday activities. That and of course my normal 2-3 hrs of sitting and observing. Do you recommend MCO or dantian meditation for overactive K? I usually smooth out in a few days during these episodes...after I submit to it. Thanks, Satyalok

It was not easy to get the shaktipat. He agreed to do it upon first meeting, but I waited many months for the date to be set. I called several times to remind him. I think they test your aspiration this way. The link I posted earlier to Sri Narayankaka Dhekane Maharaj's website has an online prayer request for shaktipat. They also have a global "trial" to get an energy boost...Aug 6th I believe. I don't practice any specific chakra meditations. I did supplement with some AYP spinal breathing, but now my Shakti is damn near overpowering and I'm trying to calm it down. Sometimes too much bliss can be harmful. I have some difficulty sleeping as my main complaint...last couple of nights have been better. I'm taking Ashwagandha to smooth it, 5-htp/valerian for sleep if needed, and no more intentioned K exercises. Cheers, Satyalok

I wouldn't try to reach any state of emptiness, not sure it even exists. If it was truly empty, then that means conscious awareness would have to be missing. The whole void state doesn't make much sense to me. From my perspective, the goal is to bring more AWARENESS into every moment, and meditation helps minimize distractions for that task. Rather than follow and involve the "I" in thought, you simply observe the CONTENTS of your mind...like watching a movie. Not checking definitions here, but I think it's similar to vipassana? People at a high level don't see the duality of subject/object, but see the consciousness of the "I" pervade all manifestation...at least that's what they claim Satyalok

A good intro book to the way we go about describing the process would be this one: Churning of the Heart Anything written by Swami Shivom Tirth is good. An online book about kundalini (siddha) mahayoga is available here: Kundalini Shaktipata Yoga The english is not the best, but you can grok the concepts if you overlook that point. This gentleman is in our lineage, but a different branch. He likes to give global initiations for free, blanket the world in Shakti! Yours in Bliss, Satyalok

Nah, Swami Shiv Mangal Tirth...disciple of Swami Shivom Tirth. Satyalok

I don't have random responses in my sadhan. The kriyas have a distinct intelligence behind them and perform every movement for a reason. Some are obvious as to the chakra or nerve plexus that they are effecting. We are taught that that intelligence is the ground of all manifestation, and as we progress we will identify with that instead of our ego which sees duality and limitation. I'm not saying this is exactly what's going on with your Kunlun practice. Since I didn't experiment with the practice until after my shaktipat initiation, I cannot cleanly discern what the difference is..only that there are similarities It is my suspicion that movements and bliss arise from the release of samskaras (sanchita karma). Yours in bliss, Satyalok

In my system, different experiences and feelings from the moving of prana (qi) are according to WHERE the energy is working. Each energy wheel along the central channel has its own particular vibrational quality and produces different experiences and sensations of bliss. Also, as the divine energy hits samskaras stored in the body (impressions or karmas/blockages), their release triggers physical movements, types of yoga, or any of a multitude of energetic experiences. IMHO, the fundamental nature of the energy is the same, but our individual impressions are unlimited....thus will our experiences be as well. Satyalok

Her webpage states that she was in the "Honor of Dong Fang Xu", here's a clip: Honor of Dong Fang Xu I saw this movie like 15 years ago...it was the only BAGUA movie I'd ever seen. I recommend it highly. Jenny's a doll! Cheers, Satyalok

I talked to one of Sifu Jenny Lamb's senior instructors about the Kunlun practice. She said they never called it that, and didn't know what I was talking about until I described the posture. They called it spontaneous "qigong". I mainly called her school as she was readily accessible (don't think Max lists his number), not to try and discredit him or anything. I like the logical/empirical description of things. I don't know who Jenny got it from, but I'm sure she'd let you know..I didn't feel like bothering her as well, since I'm not her student. The practice stands on its own, for sure, and brings results. I think it will be awhile before people hash out all the effects it produces. I personally see a similarity to the kundalini mahayoga kriyas (spontaneous movements) that I have when I sit. I tried doing Kunlun a few weeks, and the movements mixed with one another. Cheers, Satyalok

Hi Adam! There is an Indian gentleman offering remote initiations via prayer letter that you might be interested in. He is in a branch of the lineage that Swami ShivomTirth has written much about (the one I belong to). Shakti is awakened by the diksha, and processes that are the goal of Tantra are simply surrendered to and observed. Kundalini Shaktipata Yoga The only requirement is daily sitting for one hour. Also, here's a nice site I've been studying the lectures off of lately. This guy's a foremost scholar on sanskrit and Kashmir Shaivism: Mark Dyczkowski Cheers! Satyalok
