Beginner's [REAL] Magick: Instruction Q&A
Seth Ananda replied to Disabled Not Broken's topic in Esoteric and Occult Discussion
The real stuff does not require fake table tipping stuff to work. It can happen at any table anywhere, as long as some at the table are capable of deeper trance, as that seems to be part of the bridge, for Phenomena to occur...- 202 replies

Beginner's [REAL] Magick: Instruction Q&A
Seth Ananda replied to Disabled Not Broken's topic in Esoteric and Occult Discussion
i think Gp gets a bit over enthusiastic in his desire to explain everything and lump all situations into that explaination... Not all table tilting is by "spirits moving table tilters" That uk spiritualist group, who have the 1 million dollar challenge to 'proove' that they are cheating, are not using table tilters. Skeptics have put camereas on pretty much everything, covering every possible angle, every set of hands and knees, every table foot, the entire table rim from below and above, metal detectors, magnetic field detectors, table x rays, and they continue to get violent table bouncing, shaking and floating effects... Not to mention all the other phenomona, like spirits appearing in the room and so on...- 202 replies

I cant agree. not all roads lead to the same place. Some roads don't even go on the mountain, but amble by the seaside... not all Qigong systems are equal. Equal itself is dependent on what someone wants it for. If one wants a martial qigong, then iron robe is far better suited than shibashi. If one wants general health maintenance then a form that has that purpose is far better than a form that does not cater to that at all... and having practiced both spring forrest, and the 8 peices, I can say that for me spring forrest was a far more powerful form, but that judgement is based on what I prefer...

Beginner's [REAL] Magick: Instruction Q&A

I know its not really 'hermetic', rather native to all cultures, but i would love to hear about your experiences and perspectives on Mediumship. I do find it funny that Crowley and the other Victorian mages of that time, looked down so much on Mediumship, when it is right there present in agrippa's 3 books, and in neo platonism, and everywhere further back... I think its that victorian distaste for anything with a 'native' feel... necromancy... oooh... shiver...- 202 replies

Beginner's [REAL] Magick: Instruction Q&A
Seth Ananda replied to Disabled Not Broken's topic in Esoteric and Occult Discussion
Hey Serene Blue, I would love Love LOVE to read your articles on Astrology, Alchemy and Theurgy, and on any Hermetic subject. I Love your writing style, Its beautiful and rational, seductive and finely crafted, poetic and Informative... and a pleasure to read! I personally think a Hermetic subforum would be great. I have many things I would like to post there, as Hermeticism is my long time Love affair. I don't usually bother in the general forum, as the occult naysayers usually like to shit on those discussions as soon as they start, But I believe that there is a great deal in common with Hermetic and Taoist thought, that can be mutually enriching... You have a very lofty view of yourself... But I dont really think you fit the category of wave stirer, boat tipper, or grand social revolutionary... Those people like you, asked questions, but they also listened to the answers. unlike you they didn't just claim the title 'Persecuted Champion of Justice' the second someone disagreed with them... Nor did they start whinging in a self entitled voice about how the 'Status Quo' was being unfair to them... They picked powerful social justice issues and stood their ground and fought. You picked a thread (that had a clear personal attack in its title) being cancelled to cry about, and then feel persecuted from... I didn't take you for an Emo!

Zoose, most of my early posts are missing when I search by my name. i tend to have to find them manually and look at them, and then it comes up again under posts i have made...

Lol, have a nice thread... Im sure it will be of high value to everyone involved

Stupid thread. The 'Yamu please stop decieving' thread was not taken down because he has a following here, but because it was targeting and defamatory... If I made a thread called 'Aaron, please stop being a whinger' it would rightly be taken down as well And as others have also mentioned, anyone i have ever spoken too thinks of TCM as a complimentary and preventative therapy. Its superb at some things, and less good at others... like Western medicine.

What to wear on my feet while cultivating?
Seth Ananda replied to Celestial's topic in General Discussion
Yes, Jim doesnt look good full stop, and his posture is terrible in those pics, but I do not think that that comes from sitting on the ground... there are many fully healthy yogis who meditate on the bare ground. I think he needs a good diet, regular exersize and some yoga classes... +1 -
What to wear on my feet while cultivating?
Seth Ananda replied to Celestial's topic in General Discussion
I myself like bare foot. I spent years with out even owning a pair of shoes, and I pretty much hate wearing them, but that's relative to me of course... I know that Taoists are concerned about the feet getting cold, but I find that fairly easy to avoid. I wear more cloths, which make sure my blood is warm, and thus my feet are warm - as all my warm blood flows through them... And more so, when my LDT is feeling full, and hot, I just don't need the extra cloths, or shoes, as my feet and body is warm. When I practice qigong in shoes, I can feel like I am suffocating via my feet, and when I remove them finally it is very relieving, and the energy from the earth feels so much stronger... -
i am interested in this as well. In my readings on Taoism, i have read that some traditions considered Invocation or Theurgy like practices as one of the major aspects of the Taoist path, due to the influence of higher energy that these beings bring, not to mention the experiences that they might facilitate... Unfortunatly I have not been able to find anything of Interest describing these practices from a Taoist point of view... If you know of anything please let me know...

Unfortunately that is not pointing out any logical fallacies in my posts, but it does once again show your inability to conceptualise clearly... If you read my posts with the slightest care you would have noticed my Interest in Mopai, and more so that I am not one of the people who practices it as I do not know it. So how can I practice, like I want to? Outside of Mopai, I have done vast amounts of practice, but I feel I need something new. I wish to be sure I am not dealing with con men, before I 'happily' part with my hard earned cash... Hence my desire to help end the confusion around who is or isn't who as a first step... Then If Naziri is not Shifu Lin, I would like to see some evidence that Lin knows his stuff, and is from that lineage... Every teacher I know of has at least a picture of him and his teacher. That is really not too much to ask. $300 is not much at all, and i would love to pay it, or more, but here is the thing. I despise conmen, so while part of me thinks 'who cares, just risk it and send the money, I hate to think I might be supporting some con mans vile deceit. And I admit, It bugs me that Naziri is one of the only people who seems to know of Shifu Lin. {that may not be true, but I cant find any evidence anywhere so far to suggest otherwise... I personally like Naziri, and think he is a good bloke, but I still want to see something sugesting Shifu Lin is part of Mopai or at least knows it properly... And why would this thread get locked? We have a chance to clear some of the smog, if we proceed carefully...

lol, golden bamboo down under... Next time Im in Sydney, ill go and have a look. And ask to get knocked over... Edit: wait, they have a school in Melbourne! Hopefully they will have some skill -
thank you! And lets consider just how many real students have shown this kind of dedication... The whiners who want it for free will never benefit from it regardless of if they get given it or not. Someone who uproots their whole life to go and learn something, is showing, at least in part, that they have the dedication and commitment required to actually live the path... Someone who bitches and moans about having to part with a few hundred bucks {or even a few thousand} is showing that they have no real commitment to begin with, and will fizzle out sooner or later... This same person, will probably happily spend $4000 on a new home entertainment system. Priorities huh? If one believes these teachings really work, and lead towards Immortality, then rather than complaining about some trivial amount of cash, wouldn't it be better to Man up and 'get a job' and save the amount? You would probably have it in a few months! Then instead of complaining in Internet threads, you would be practising... Anyway h.uriahr I think I just rehashed what you said, so sorry for the echo... lol

Like who? You seem paranoid? Who here is selling Mopai?

Traditions evolve or devolve, change is constant. I personally do not break vows, but I am unwilling to say that a teacher may not decide to do some things differently, once the tradition is in their Hands... I just can not jump in and judge without having the full story. Maybe they feel the tradition won't survive in the west without some money being involved... who knows?
-
Yes... If I disagree with your inane assertions I must have a Hidden agenda!!! :o If you read earlier, I was trying to get this thread off money, and on to resolving who is or is not 'real'... You offered nothing to that mix other than banal absolutisms that they are all absolute Fakes. and you gave absolutely nothing in the way of proof, and called for the thread to be shut down. You are not a moderator, and you are barely even new on TTB's....
-
Wow, who made you the expert? Thank god you are helping clear up this thread for us! So Chunyi lin and many many others who charge, or have dvd's are all Frauds, full stop, all of the time? None of them collectively know anything at all, in any way, so we should all give up and listen to you? lol. Thank you for illuminating us Master

I wanted to mention that Micah has always been upfront about his teaching name/identity as Hern Heng. Also he is an avid follower of Judaism from what I can tell, which has a very high emphasis on honesty, so i tend to believe his claims... but that does not constitute proof... just me observing. All the religious people I know are scrupulously honest, at least about their dealings in worldly affairs... Does anyone live near his Dojo?
