MoPai ... Angry Ancestors! -
Can we get of the ever boring money Issue? {flyinghigh} Who the %^#! cares if a teacher wants to charge a once off fee for his services. They have to eat, and this thread is called 'Is this Mopai level 1?'. but it is most definitely not called 'Ethics of charging for teaching services level 1' So can we stay on topic? Is it level 1? Some say yes, some say no, some say in part, with crucial details missing {Naziri and shifu lin students...}. Certain people here seem to believe or feel suspicious that Naziri is or might be Shifu Lin, who also may be the infamous Lucas Huang, who may also even be TempleTao... This stops many who are genuinely interested in pursuing this path from sitting down and practising, and instead they sit around reading epic threads on Mopai. This has created such a fog of suspision and mistrust, and disinformation that we must spend some time dispelling it. If Naziri is a conman, we should know {and I don't personally believe that he is} but if he is not, and if Shifu Lin is really the real deal, then that is a great boon to Mopai students everywhere. {regardles of a measly 300 bucks} Surely that is worth some proper time to discern? i posit that we are all {hopefully} Intelligent people and that we can come up with a clear answer, to at least ending some of the allegations, which is a necessary step to being able to proceed with any certainty, about where and who our information is coming from...! Some thoughts on dispelling this mess are: 1.) Getting Naziri, Templetao, and hopefully even Shifu Lin on the phone or live chat or skype at the same time. I havent used it, but doesn't TTB's have some voice chat function? Even if we only got Templetao and Naziri on at the same time, that at least dispels one of the myths floating around... 2.) Naziris group have been most Inviting of us to come and train with them. Do any of us Bums live near there? Apparently Shifu Lin is well known there, so anyone looking into this should be able to discern fairly quickly whether he is real or not... And they might get some Awesome training and begin an actual practice... 3.) Mods can do an ISP check on parties that are logged on here... this is the least reliable, but is still something... Any other ideas?

Thanks templetao. The virtues are the same as in the Christian teachings, {which are really Platonic teachings minus the politics, and plus Christ} They need to be cultivated to get to Heaven as an Immortal, because they help the Hun want to stay close to the Po, which normally divides after death, causing reincarnation. This after death division is present in every cultures old alchemical teachings, as the thing they try to avoid. The Hun doesnt like being near heavy feeling within the Po. This is why the Egyptians said that if the heart weighed more than a feather, then One's Ka {po} gets eaten and sent to the underworld, while the Ba {hun} flies away into another life... So What about the virtues? Well they feel really really good. Goodness itself feels good. The more of these we have, the more the Spirit/hun/Ba likes being with the Soul/Po/Ka, and stops it just flying off once it is freed from the body...

The truth behind the Law of Attraction
Seth Ananda replied to Nikolai1's topic in General Discussion
Why would it? If someone believes in Karma, they would usually say that all our actions and creations are constantly producing new positive or negative Karma... Also some would say its good Karma to even have the opportunity to learn about LoA... let alone to have the capasity {or right mindset} to be able to really use it for much benefit... -
The truth behind the Law of Attraction
Seth Ananda replied to Nikolai1's topic in General Discussion
Law of attraction is based on the foundation Idea that the Universe is Mental. in other words, it is a big consciousness or divine mind, and it 'Imagines' everything into being, including us. But in the case of us, we {and other sentient beings} are a microcosm of the Divine mind, and we have the same spark of Divine mind within us. So what we dream of, desire, fear, imagine, think about, believe and so on, is all constantly 'creating' the reality around it. Some points to consider about this ancient worldview: 1.) Life will never be 'perfect' { as in no problems ever } forever despite our manifesting skill} as the Big Minds dream is primarily one of Duality. The play of consciousness is one of forgetting and remembering... 2.) One will not win the Lotto, just becase one 'wants' to, because everyone else who buys lotto tickets are also 'wanting' to win. But if your signal to the universe is far stronger than anyone elses, then that may be a different story... Cynthia Stanford won 112 million by spending 4 months constanty visualising untill she was absolutely certain she would win. which she did. 3.) The Divine mind may have its own plans for you at times, regardles of what you want or try to manifest... 4.) You may actively work against yourself. Like trying to will for money, yet hating rich people or having some personal belief that you will never 'make it' in the world... -
Thanks for all the time you took to write this templetao.

Sure.. but doesn't that mean that Vedic culture started with them recording it and telling others? And thanks for the book recommendation. I have been planning to increase my knowledge on this subject

I agree with Naziri on the teaching front...

This is level 1, from a pdf and set of pictures that are floating around the Internet. It seems fairly certain that it is Jim Mcmillan's instructions to his students, as the pictures are of Jim. The pdf contains the level 1 & 2 instructions, and contains pictures of the level 2 moving form, and 1 pic of the level 1 seated position....

I want to be clear that i am not arguing for or against the existence of Yugas as actually real cycles. but, they were first 'allegedly' recorded by the Rishis themselves, who are thought of as super cosmic super beings, and who were in direct contact many times with the actual Gods and Goddesses, and who also may or may not have actually existed. These Rishis are the root of Vedic culture. Yugas, as written, are an essential part of Vedic culture. Not only that but its an exact mathematics that they use, and millions of Vedic astrologers and Mathematicians continue to find no problem with the calculations, which themselves are part of the very fabric of the Vedic universe. Saying "no. they added it up wrong!" Is basically saying the entire vedas are wrong, because you cant separate the mythology from the time cycles, from the maths, from the astrology and from any number of other elements within the Vedas themselves... It is also not very humble, because it is suggesting that you in fact have more authority on the Vedas, that the actual creators of the Vedas...
-
Hmm I highly doubt it. Millions of Vedic scholars {many of them being Vaishnava's who dont smoke or drink} have spent their whole lives studying the Yuga's and Indian Astrology. It is a highly exact science. Just because one mystic who turns up, {who is also influenced by ideas about Christian end time and heaven on earth prophesies} and claims that because it all has to fit together, the Vedic sages must have been wrong... well it does not make a convincing argument.

Had a rather frightening experience yesterday.

be wary that if you continue like that, K may rise. I personally consider that a good thing, but you may not... If you don't have access to a teacher... well, its on you. -
For me the when the LDT is full and humming, my heart and upper centers are on line. LDT is the foundation for the rest of the structure that you are building. That is especially important for me, as I caused my self heart problems years ago, from excessive focus on the heart { years of intense Bhakti yoga }. IMHO the LDT is the only area that can not burn out from too much energy, it just spills out and starts activating other areas...

Hey I use exactly this, and It is still one of my all time favourites.

Not to say that I believe in the Yugas necessarily...
-
Dwai is right. The Vedas are very clear about it, and have every millimetre of the authority on the subject, as the concept of the Yugas, belongs entirely to the Vedas, as far as I know. But that doesn't stop hippy channelers from trying to hijack the concept, and then claim that they are the ones who really know what is going on with the Yugas {trying to steal authority}, and that it is ending in 2012, in their imaginary golden age. They are afraid of anything that doesn't feel positive. We are no where near a golden age. Most of the western worlds primary concern is what is in fashion and which sports hero's or celebrities are up to what, while the rest of the world is starving, or economically enslaved so we can get fat, and while we burn through the earth's precious resources at break neck speed. We have lorded the Intellect as the supreme function of human beings, and pronounced 'thinking' as our highest capacity. Golden age my ass. It is most definitely the age of decadent demons. {sorry to sound like sunlover but I am not as unforgiving of demons, lol } Despite all this, I think it is a great time for spiritual advancement, due to the availability of schools and information, for the people who can pull their heads out of our cultures ass... Blessings to all.

Why are there fewer women than men in search of Enlightenment and Freedom from Samsara?
Seth Ananda replied to SunLover's topic in General Discussion
I thought you might misunderstand me. No, unlike you, they have unselfish motivations, and they will never give up on any sentient being, let alone give up on the entire of humanity. lol, No. Buddah was a prince. He left them in the lap of luxury, because he needed to do what he needed to do. That is very different to walking out on people who depend on you to survive... As I have just pointed out, the demons you perceive are in your own mind. In your rush to see evil everywhere you miss the bleeding obvious. And here in your post is the selfishness I was speaking to: This is totally different to the agenda of a pure and loving monk. They Vow to reach enlightenment for the sake of all sentient beings, and they Vow not to fully enter Nirvana until every sentient being has been liberated. That is endless amounts of tireless work for all the 'scum' and 'sluts' that you despise, and the most incredible dedication to the good that is buried within them and everyone. And what is worse {for you} Is that they say Enlightenment literally can not be achieved without this incredible Bodhichitta. That means that unless you drop your hate, and damning condemnation, and start having some compassion, and start wanting the best for everyone, and start practising tolerance and forgiveness then you will Never never never reach Enlightenment. Ever. Ever....... Ever.............! -

Seth Ananda replied to SunLover's topic in General Discussion
Wow, you are probably the least insightful person I have ever heard talk. You are so devoid of Insight, that it is amazing you think yourself 'Spiritual' Not to mention the great teachers of the world have said Buddha nature is within everyone. How do you blindly ignore such teachings, and continue to pour out your hate and bile on all the poor suffering humans out there. As a Counsellor i can tell you that there is no such thing as a person who is only their personality. Even murderers and rapists have Hearts hidden under layers of pain and contraction. -

lol, why would she want to be with you? What do you have to offer her other than bitterness, judgment, and pronounced self loathing? Nothing. How come you dont have compassion for others or yourself, who are not at this place yet? Surely you can accept that she was once where you and we are now? A being like that has amazing compassion. -

The most cowardly, and selfish giving up a man can accomplish is to .. 1) understand that there is no hope left for this world and humanity. 2) understand that this world and humanity is completely corrupt. 3) take any and all possible means to evolve yourself to such a stage that you will be able to cut off all your karmic connections with humanity forever and especially to cut off all your karmic connections with your loved ones. If you are able to cut off all your karmic connections with your loved ones and family because you want to evolve and transform yourself into a God and leave humanity and this world immediately, this is the most cowardly and selfish thing which any man can accomplish. -
Lorin Roche has some really nice poetic interpretations from Vijnana Bhairava, but his ideas about Tantra get a bit 'iffy' at times, and has some very erroneous ideas on cultivation. That said, I still like this version. Its like a Daniel Ladinski interpretation of Hafiz. It encapsulates the Beauty but is not very scholarly accurate...
