Sure, I have read many of them, and to me meditation is crucial, but I also believe there is a point where one must pass it. I am not there yet, so still use the white A semdzin regularly... And I did not say he said stable shine was a waste of time, but he certainly chastised his students that he felt were becoming meditation addicts, as cultivating samahdi and not Rigpa, and being confused about their actual attainments. I think he was warning about getting stuck in the alaya...

Nice! I have always found it interesting how the Dzogchenpas practice meditation in order to learn how to drop meditation. CRNN chastises his students as wasting their time, sitting around cultivating shamatha, and thinking that they are in Rigpa, but really being in a meditation state, not in the Indestructible Wakefulness...

'Alien Abduction' Research Suggests Episodes Are Actually Lucid Dreams!
Seth Ananda replied to DalTheJigsaw123's topic in General Discussion
I often think along these lines as well. That they are from the 4th or astral and are visiting or making an incursion into this realm and they can become physical for the occasion. Lucid dreaming is a way to get there, but not all abduction cases happen in ones bed while at the near sleep threshold. Some happen in broad daylight. Considering though that more often these abduction experiences happen 'near sleep' than out side, I wonder if the lucid state makes us stand out to them? Things from that realm can manifest physically. Evocation to physical appearance is a great example, and once you have seen a being from that realm tear a room to bits, well Im sure you can imagine what that does to a conventional world view People have seen solid looking saucers turn to balls of energy and then simply disappear, or seen them multiply and later regroup as one... All this suggests a very fluid nature to me. Maybe they are 3rd dimensional beings living solidly somewhere else, but they have mastered the 4th... Maybe they are just, or are no longer 3rd density [usually] or maybe the various 'races' described fit a variety of these situations??? Seth Ananda -
'Alien Abduction' Research Suggests Episodes Are Actually Lucid Dreams!
Seth Ananda replied to DalTheJigsaw123's topic in General Discussion
I can't agree. While I'm sure that this experience can and does happen to someone in psychosis, there have been many psychological tests run on 'abductees' right after the event, showing the person to be in sound mental health, apart from being unsettled or panicked from the actual experience. If it was psychosis, or florid psychosis as is often used for someone hallucinating in extreme intensity [as in an abduction], it would not just turn off after one experience, and they would be completely delusional over a significant period of time. -
Nice. Its quite Interesting isn't it...

What's it like meditating in extreme places
Seth Ananda replied to thelerner's topic in General Discussion
i get a migraine meditating in some churches [not all]. I have wondered if it could be the heavy layers of belief energy that the congregation generates over the years...? -

Heheh, The mayans and their deities were hard core. Some of their Gods make tibetan wrathful deities look like fluffy kittens. They have descriptions of torturing and sacrificing people, like the death of the eagle, where a man would be cut open between the back ribs and his still inflating/deflating lungs would be gently pulled out of his back so they would look like eagle wings flapping as breath moved them... Just because a culture was advanced, doesn't mean it couldn't or didn't have a dark age. And don't forget the possibility of 'advanced' black magick based civilizations... Blood sacrifice has been successfully used in many many cultures, and that posits a greater understanding of energies and primal forces than most of our age understand... Also don't forget things like oral traditions from the various descendents of Inca's Mayans... There are Tribal stories that talk of leaving an area to escape the sacrificial altars of the larger culture. Its only clueless hippies these days that want to paint every culture as sickly sweet pink pony's riding happy rainbows of love and light. I tend to think the real 'advanced' cultures had a wildness and a much greater connection with the dark and primal energies than we usually feel comfortable admitting. -

Are all the contents of awareness intentional?
Seth Ananda replied to goldisheavy's topic in General Discussion
I consider the ordinary world and perceptions causal, in that there is a very clear and linear set of causes/effect steps, in a chronological order leading up to each event. The Non ordinary however... hmm, and the difficulty here is that there are obviously cause effect relationships in some non ordinary experience, but there are also non linear, non chronological, events, experiences and perceptions, non euclidean geometries, impossible colors... The range of experiences that come from a place beyond {normal or known} cause and effect relationships... A place where 1 + 1 does not equal 2.... I agree very much here. Its one reason I can't wholly buy the Nondual notion of non-doership and awareness as totally passively Inert. Intention is the other half of surrender... That makes sense, and makes me think of the term 'skillful means'. There are better and worse ways to start loosening or breaking down the constructs... I am not quite sure i understand 'what' you are afraid of screwing up? But I understand the dreaming thing. I also like contemplating the dreamlike nature of the world, alot. It seems to deprive the world of its 'hard' sense of reality... Thats the jist of what i have heard about it as well. And that thogal leads to rainbow body. I cant help wondering here about Don Juan [allegedly hehe] talking about becoming pure energy by moving the assemblage point. Allowing ones perception to change completely... To me that is the limits of ordinary perception, but what do you think mastery can't do? Very cool... Nice advice thanks! Its been a while since I explored lucid land. It seems that way to me as well. I certainly don't think of enlightenment as being a non dual couch potato like Ramana... To me it seems like they have just replaced one set of constructs with another. Upgraded the prison cell so to speak. Even though I embraced many Buddhist and other perception bending Idea systems, i refused to give up my magickal and sorcereric practices... I also find it sad that most Magick groups seem so entrenched in heavy materialism, cultish slavery or religiosity, rather than using it in all the wonderful expanding ways it can be used... i already have Heart drops myself but what good resources have you found on the subject of Magick? And Thanks. Seth Ananda. -

Cool! And I agree, that will totally open up the unconscious and loosen habitual Ideas of self, but what about acausal perceptions, leaving the causal world all together? I just realized, I'm typing like a maniac. I haven't been this excited by a thread in yonks... -

As I am thinking about it, it seems to me that awareness, being untouched in some way by what it perceives, has the capacity to adjust to receive any perception whatsoever. Does this mean we have the potential to one day travel as we see fit through infinity, consciously selecting what ever world/perception that seems fit? I Imagine that if this is a possibility, we would have to dissolve all attachment or aversion to any way of perceiving whatsoever? How would we accomplish this? -
Are all the contents of awareness intentional?
Seth Ananda replied to goldisheavy's topic in General Discussion
Zoose, Castenada would say {which doesn't necessarily mean its true} that just seeing the world we see is a powerful act of intent. We have locked our perceptions down on one thin wave length, and every perception within it, such as being slapped or aimless jogging, is totally conditioned to be perceived in certain ways, that suit or work with the underlying intent to see the world in the way we do... -

Very Interesting topic I have recently been contemplating the habitual nature nature of perception or seeing, and how it stops us from 'seeing' further - As in acausal or non ordinary ways. It would seem to me that to relax ones Intent to see habitually, and thus allowing non ordinary perceptions to take place, would also be an act of Intent... Unfortunately I have found very little on this subject in the various traditions that i have researched. The few are, Castaneda's toltec teachings which have a massive amount on learning to control ones perception filters. [assemblage point] Tiny elements in the western Occult teachings, on evocation to physical appearance, and the stress that places on habitual or ordinary patterns of seeing. {in my opinion the real reason to do such practices...} And a Buddhist monk talking about thogal, and although he didn't describe the practice, he did talk about how it is a way to drop any habitual seeing patterns, which is what allows the tigles and gods and demons and... to appear in front of you... I'm not sure what questions most interest me here...? I think I would love to hear peoples musings on these subjects... Gold, and anyone, do you think there is a purpose for awareness having or being colored by Intent? And what are the limits found or the greatest potential, for gaining full control over ones way of 'seeing'... And what ways have people found that let them gain acausal or non ordinary perceptions? And how can this be used to further our steps to enlightenment? Thanks! Seth. -
A controversial teacher is going to Inspire controversial topics. Not that surprising. I thought this one was a lot more civil, than some of the Max bashes in the past. And you have to admit, he does make some big claims, so there fore he gets scrutinized...

Dont worry mate. from what I remember, you always made it clear that what you said was just your personal perspective and not some objective irrefutable fact.
-
thats disappointing! I don't want in on the drama, but I do want you to stop lording it over this thread. I was hoping that once you calmed down, you would be open to describing the 'whys' and 'hows' of kunlun being a good or genuine Internal alchemy system, as that is something I am interested in. Why do you feel it works? What do you feel that it is doing, and how is that alchemical?
-
BS Again! Rubbish! This is not Your forum, take a chill pill, do some Kunlun or something and get off your high horse! {You sound ridiculous from up there.}
-
BS! This is an open forum where [thank god] you are not a moderator. If a subject is what is "red phoenix" then people are going to talk about it, and that includes critiques of the system. You have been quite obnoxious in your dealings with people here scotty. Shouting all your Shut Ups! and Get Outs! Who do you think you are? Go back and carefully re read Morepieguys posts. He was very clear and non insulting in stating that Kunlun is not for him, and why, and he got treated very rudely by you. Simply because you don't like his opinion - Which he is totally in his rights to give here at this forum.

What's the dealio with visualizing chakras?
Seth Ananda replied to jacklantegi's topic in General Discussion
Its all highly subjective! Different traditions have different versions, placings, colours, directions of spin [or not] and different numbers of chakras. My personal theory is that they are just ways of describing general feeling areas of the nervous system. hence regardless the exact position/color/spin... they still usually describe the feeling we have in those areas. An obvious example is the heart chakra/s are in the area where we feel love... For this reason, I cant take chakras as being objectively real. Powerful and accomplished mystics from various traditions have successfully used their traditions own [differing] models of the chakras to diagnose, meditate on, move or work with energy from. So I consider them subjectively real. Years ago someone talked me into 'dowsing' my chakras with a pendulum. This afforded me the wonderful opportunity to move my chakras around according to different maps which became totally confounding for the dowser, as his reading would suddenly change If I wish to work with my chakras, i may work with them, in the front, middle/central or back/shushumna channel regions, or occasionally as a belt area which includes the whole region, depending what feels most powerful at that time... If visualizing them spinning, I personally like to see them spinning both ways, top down as anamatva does. I don't know why, its just what feels best to me. Have fun enjoying the Infinite subjectivity. -
Vmarco, you have some interesting things to say, but when you talk like this you come off like an Idiot. Saying Twinner is fully negative in heart is an incorrect and absolute statement. Your only experience with twinner is of him arguing or disagreeing with you. How can you know from that small portion of twinners time and existence, that he is fully negative in heart? The correct answer, in case you are in a mood to argue or get defensive, is that you can not know that about him, and pretending that you can is dishonest and serves know one. If you wanted to prove that his heart was fully negative, you would have to interview all his friends, and follow him around for quite a while. Why would you need to be so personal and attacking in your disagreement? I have seen twinner on this board, be quite friendly, empathic and supportive to individuals. That does not suggest a fully negative heart... You should really think about how you sound half the time. You go on about listening to the messenger and not attacking him, well maybe if the messenger was capable of being even slightly inspiring, of having the capacities for honest conversation and self reflection, then people would listen. But what do we get? Vmarco, severly reacts when people dissagree with him or his theorys. He starts calling them ignorant, and saying that they are dishonest, and have fully negative hearts... Vmarco does just fine with the few who agree or who don't critique his theory's, but where is the surprise there? That's every mundane person in the world. Vmarco has big big claims to the truth. He is one of the only ones to really understand Buddhism, Gurdjief, ACIM, Gnostics... [do i sense a trend? a need to be right?] And he is the champion or herald of undivided light. But here is the dilemma: If you understand Undivided Light so well, then where is the character transformation. Why is your ego so fragile, so defensive and ready to attack in nasty and personal ways? You dont come across as a person who has anything of value, that anyone would want, apart from some interesting ideas, which have done nothing of note for you personally. Maybe people should pay more attention to the messenger. If the messenger has a lot of talk, but no congruence between what he says and what he does, then maybe that is saying something about the quality of the message, and its inability to effect change... I was quite interested in some aspects of your thought, but you turned me off. If you are the end result of your thought, then at the moment I am just not interested.

ROFL! Thank you, i really did nearly fall off my seat there from laughing. But is is weird isn't it just how amoral our dream worlds can be. People dream about having sex with their parents, about murdering someone for stealing their cereal or any number of weird things that may horrify their conscious mind... The important thing is not to jump to conclusions about the dreamer...

{Taomeow add a dot for virus/plague if you have the time} One dream I thoroughly enjoyed: I woke up one morning Knowing that it was my purpose, my destiny to destroy civilization as we know it. With this knowledge, I also 'knew' that I was one of the 1 in 100 people who are Immune to the Ebola virus. All I had to do was become infected so I would be a carrier. I booked a flight to Africa, hired a jeep and an escort to get me as close to the Ebola zone as possible. It was cordoned off by the military so I spent another two days scouting their perimeter, looking for a weak spot I could exploit. I found one eventually, and by cover of night, wriggled in. I searched around inside there till I found an old elephant burial ground. I gleefully rolled around in old elephant scraps, till I 'knew' I had contracted the disease and then sneaked back out. The next thing was flying round and round to all the worlds international airports, and then standing in the various boarding cues to different country's, and coughing on people to Infect them. The next scene was walking through a waste land of a city. There had been rioting and looting and then - Silence. It was one of the most profound senses of joy I have ever felt. The happiness of occasionally seeing a face emerge and knowing that we were going to create the new world, and that Nature would regenerate and become glorious once again. The Happiness of having fulfilled my purpose. I have regular apocalypse dreams with varying themes, from famines, contagions, zombies or peak oil. Also it should be noted that I love the theme, think about it alot, and we in my house consider ourselves to be in apocalypse training. [steadily acquiring the skill sets necessary for the end of the world, as we know it]

lol, ever been punched? Or yelled at? Or given an orgasm? Or a Back rub? Even worse is you already stated you believe in the premise of Chinese medicine, so you have probably had acupuncture. {where someone manipulated your chi, with needles} I think everyone manipulates everyone's chi that they come in contact with. I sometime forget just how many people here, who speak as if they 'know', actually have so few experiences to draw conclusions from...
