Wow I feel tickled pink to get a post like this! I do find it interesting that since you were unable to respond properly in an intelligent fashion, to the various points I made, you give me a glowing response like this? Since you cant debate you make me Satan? But again you are wrong so once more I will happily correct you. The Satan/Seth connection is a mistranslation from the Egyptian God Set. Now in the Egyptian language the sound T is one letter, and the sound TH is a different letter. The same goes for the syllabic languages of Egypts neighbouring countries. So the Egyptian 'evil' God has which letters in his name? S, E and T, not TH. This translation error survived for a while in works on Egypt, but even if it was not an error, Satan and Set are not really that compatible as concepts. Satan is an evil Villain that will eventually be destroyed. Set is Bad to some, not all, gets defeated by Horus, and eventually gets integrated into Horus, where they become the Horuset, a divine being who has overcome the shadow and gained full use of its power, without compromising any of its Spiritual majesty... Its a beautiful allegory, that goes quite beyond the mere black and white, good/evil myth that Christians and your good self are so obviously fond of... So when my parents named me it was after Seth, the third son of Adam and Eve, in genesis, in the bible. Not {sorry to disappoint you all} after His Unholyness!!!!! Strange though, you do Jesus stuff, I thought you would have read it?!? Now Seth means 'Chosen One', was Loved by God, and in esoteric schools they say he was let back into the garden of Eden. The Hebrew letters are Shin and Tav, representing the Holy Spirit {shin} perfectly integrated with the Material world {Tav} and thus Seth represents the Perfected Human, and a bunch of other cool stuff that you wouldn't know about either! But all in all it was the Best post I have ever received, so thank you!

This makes no sense whatsoever settler. How does this enlighten me? All it means is you studied under a teacher, and that does not automatically mean that you know anything at all. This a blatent authority appeal. In the post I was refering too, you claimed the the heart surta was all about the Heart Chakra, and you are dead wrong. I even explained to you [in that thread] how that misunderstanding can arise due to translation problems, that the word 'heart' refers to 'essence' or 'vital point' or the 'core' of something. But you refrenced it as being the Heart Chakra, the balance point between yin and yang and a bunch of other poorly strung together theorys... Am I supposed to believe you now? What are you talking about? Where did I call someone a fool, and where did I judge a Zen Master? Again, what are you talking about? You have all these Ideas in your head that you be[lie]ve in but they are straight up wrong. Reiki was not developed by a japenese woman. And you can still go to the shinto temple it comes from and see it being practiced, including seeing the reiki symbols carved in their old stone wall. The woman who brought it to the west on the other hand, did make up stories about it... Once again, What are you talking about. I have been blessed in my life to be taught or Initiated deeply into several of the traditions you mention here, and I actually Know much of the stuff that is not in print anywhere... Well I agree with you here, I have read huge amounts, and watched many many dvd's or video's over the last 20 years, but they are no substitute for the real thing.. And? Who said Zhineng was similar to Kunlun? {both of which I have studied} I think my words speak for themselves. They are clear, logical and to the point. Yours on the other hand are jumbled, vague, and full of half digested theory's and beliefs... so who is wasting peoples time?

I have noticed that some Buddhist schools talk about Emptiness in different ways. Some seem to describe it as an actual void that things rise and fall in, but others, like those following Nargajuna's philosophy see it rather as the actual Nature of things and refute it being a Void... I was wondering if there are any neat ways of categorising which schools teach what about emptiness, critiques they may have of each other, and whether some schools blend them together... And, what peoples personal observations or thoughts are about this wonderful subject? Metta!

My question is why are we allowed to defend our selves from a direct attack on our person, with deadly force if necessary, yet we are not allowed to defend ourselves against an Indirect attack? Mega corporations are killing us off, threatening the very future of our species and many of the other ones we share this beautiful planet with. If someone told you that they have every Intention of murdering your grandchildren, you could arrest them for that threat. If A corporation is actually directly taking actions to kill your kids kids kids, or maybe their kids, why haven't we started tearing down their buildings and put them in chains, behind bars? That would Include the sponsors of climate scepticism. Criminal minds are in most of the seats of power on this planet, and Inspired by Informer, their souls are Dollar signs, wrapped in greed and profit. Climate sceptisism is nothing but Big Oil funded propaganda, aimed at slowing any action we try to take to fix this planet - all so they can profit as much as possible before they get any restraints slapped on their mindless devouring of our resources. It is a most despicable and appalling view. It has been proved wrong over and over again by well established scientific circles. But you can't really make a conservative stop talking and posting links, no matter how stupid his ideas are. Climate scepticism will go down in history as one of the most vile Ideas the power hungry came up with. It will rightly be lumped in with female circumcision, Racial Purity and superiority, Nationalism, Patriotism and torture. As I sit here deciding whether to press the 'post' button, I think people will say that my post is an over reaction, and hot headed, but is it really? These people are actually threatening our lives right now. Imagine a man in a balaclava, is swinging a large metal wrench at your head, because he wants your stuff. How do you feel? This is what is actually happening, but the wrench may take several generations to collide with your skull. We better start getting mad soon, or it will be too late...

Wrong there are many styles that train one to heal others... Sorry but this is just wrong as well. Many cultures have Reiki like hands on healing practices. For instance I have seen the Aboriginals here in Australia putting their hands on another's body and closing their eyes, and channelling energy to the patient. They called it walla something or other... Anyway back to Reiki, There is a Docco I have seen {a long time ago since I spent time thinking about Reiki} somewhere that does quite a bit of detective work. With the traditional Reiki practitioners still In Japan, It shows some of the differences in how they learned from Usui and the story they learned is very different, from the story that Hawai Takata made up when she left Japan. There is no mountain fast or revelation. Nor does Usui heal a whole village in some 'Christ like' fashion. There is just a series a successions from the Shinto temple it came from. The docco crew went to the temple, and filmed it, including the Reiki symbols carved into the walls in a few places... A side note, the practitioners there practice a lot of Hara meditation along with their Reiki. I myself am not bothered by Settlers language obstacles. I am bothered by his stream of assumptions that get presented as absolute 'Fact' that run through his various posts. He walks very dangerous ground. When he is inspired by a new idea, he doesn't test it, instead he reaches for any thread he can find to 'prove' it... And then presents it as Truth. This worries me. These people end up teaching dodgy stuff, or become cult leaders. It can also Indicate a fear of being wrong/need to be right that will have negative ramifications on the relationships in the bearers life. I am all for people exploring new Ideas, but in doing so, [in my opinion] one should be very careful not to present some new Idea as absolute Fact, before researching it carefully. For Instance, In one thread settler claims that the Heart Sutra is all about the Heart chakra, which it is not. Now it is easy to see that that would be an easy mistake to make, as the word Heart is in both. I can forgive this error, but he makes it in context of drawing it in to bolster his other crazy theory's that this kind of Taiji should be practised with that kind of Bagua, because it is all about Yin/Yang and the heart is the middle of yin/yang which is proved by the heart sutra... This kind of thinking [drawing 'facts' from anywhere in a desperate attempt to be right] needs to be shot down. The sting will make him more intellectually cautious... Lol, a bit off topic but I saw a david Icke talk, where every possible coincidence was used as absolute proof, to back up his theory's [staple thinking for conspiracy heads] and he topped it all with saying that the fact the queen doesn't sue him for saying she 'IS' a reptilian in 'proof' that she is a reptilian!

Yes. When I was younger and entered the Bhakti path, I Hated myself and Humanity. When the great Love started to bloom in my heart it was specifically 'for' the Transcendent. Actually it was also for Nature at the time, which I saw as being the Body of God. Seeing the destruction we do to Nature was almost unbearable in my early years, and felt like the greatest Blasphemy, which often only fed my hatred for Humanity. Humans had let me down so repeatedly on all fronts leading up to my leaving home, that the Idea of seeing them as seeds of the divine was almost Impossible to get some experience of, of God in others.. But Nature had always been my carer. I could wander for days with a rifle, or bow and arrows and eat rabbits or kangaroo's, and never see anyone... It is one of the freest feelings in the world. Anyway it took many years to start being able to see the divine in others, and of the Triangle of Transcendent Divinity, Divine in Nature and Divine in Humans, it would still be my week point. Also I think there are health dangers to Bhakti that doesn't Include the world. Not just externally with the environmental ramifications of a purely Transcendent View, but also internally. I damaged my subtle body at one period so badly that to even say my mantra Internally would cause my heart to go seriously arrhythmic. The result of that was that I could not focus directly on my heart chakra for a few years. But in that period I got to work on my horizontal relationships and when I began to get a sense of love and compassion for my fellow humans, its particular kind of love was exactly the healing my heart centre needed to heal. I have met some great mystics in my time, anonymous ones, in the Bhakti traditions, but there is something distinctly odd about the ones who don't include people and the world in their great Love... I think Loves optimal expression, is starting in the centre of the cross made by the horizontal and vertical lines, and expanding out like a golden sphere, equally encompassing the world and the transcendent as it goes... And considering that this thread is on Jesus and Buddha, that is a pretty common Christian Image {the cross in a sphere} Blessings to all -

Very cool I think of the horizontal as pertaining to the Imminent aspect of Divinity or, the Divine in things, {obviously including people} so to say... Which leaves the Vertical for the Transcendent, or the Divine outside of, or beyond things... -

Great question, and who knows? Each Individual will have such different experiences for the onset. You have to factor in stress levels, substance abuse?, hereditary tendencies, cultural and beliefe systems... I just finished the mental health/pathology part of my counselling course, part of which was a gruelling slog through the DSM-IV... and so many of the case studies demonstrated just how loose and subjective the diagnosis actually are, with no one but the pharmaceutical companies being totally certain who has what... Than what? I am not sure how you mean this? Nice observation. I do not think many of the 'Nuts' people are actually Nuts. I think they have blury edges, they confuse realms, confuse states... and are generally all jumbled up. I also believe in possession and think this phenomena makes life a lot worse for the bearer, and this is why I advocate people dabbling, and the more the better. The more people who really want to Know about the actual structure of the universe, and who Its Inhabitants are that we share it with, [rather than being rather rude neighbours who Ignore everyone on their street] And who start hunting out classes and teachers, and books, and experimenting, then the sooner we will have a culture of people better able to deal with entities, real confusion, blury edges and so on... All this "leave it to the experts" talk, sounds like 'experts' magically grow on tree's and are actually some different species. Well they do not and they are not. They started out as beginners, and dabbled a bit, and nearly all of them would have got their fingers burnt or worse at some point in their training. Every expert I have met, has great stories to tell about their mistakes. Mistakes are Awesome. And they do kill the occasional person. But the rest of us get some of the best learning of our lives from them, and one day end up experts. All this drive [began with the evils of the sueing culture and the power of insurance companies] to eradicate any possible risk from our lives is making life hideously bland and grey. Soon the whole world will be fat TV watching consumers who never leave the house in case they stub a toe. Then the Human race will have become Obsolete. -

I am sorry but you really have no idea what you are talking about. All you have is a bunch of beliefs and dogma's and false conclusions. Where is the speaking from experience, and then the questioning of how one interprets those experiences? Nearly every great Tradition in the world has spirit Interaction as an important part of it. It was considered one of the great Sciences. Just because the Christian world banned it, and then everyone got the heebyJeebys about the subject, does not mean that it is not an amazing path of development. Look at Theurgy, which is one of the three most Important branches of Hermetic science. Over its course, one invokes the lowliest spirits right through to the highest beings Imaginable, and at each stage, one learns about the level of themselves that resonates with the level of the being they Interact with... Christ would have received such training, as Kabbalah, and the Essenes were both Highly Influenced by the Hermetic religion. Blessings -

By "that dimension" i mean many of the mental health issues in the schizo/psychotic/bipolar/disassociated spectrum where people with 'blury' internal boundaries or edges bleed through into ambiguous astral and spiritual realms, and do not know how to Integrate or even simply understand their experiences. And as I said, exploring these realms may be dangerous occasionally, but less so than driving a car. Should we all stop driving because occasionally there is a tragic accident? But unlike driving a car these Interactions teach you amazing things about the various levels within oneself {unless of course one is driving to meet up with Tao Bums friends }. -

Yes it actually happened, not being sarcastic. But here you are, telling potential future experts {beginners} to stay away from the field. What do want all expertise in this area to disappear? Because if each generation does not produce its experts, that is exactly what will happen... Sure this path is not for everyone. When meeting the extreme psychic toxicity of malevolent entities, many feel that they would like to curl up and die of fright. But for a true explorer, These interactions are major stepping stones in development and understanding. Some of my greatest learning's come from these exact experiences. And I will never regret having had them. For one, it is only through having these experiences that one can loose all fear of these entities, and become sort of 'Immunised' against their Influence. They really do not disturb me in the slightest any more. You learn to, {to quote Taomeow, sorry If I got it wrong Taomeow} "Stare the devil in the eye, and make him blink!" In other words, you learn to Look what scares you right in the face, and that is a supreme skill for many aspects of ones life. Boring! Boring! Boring! And so white middle class. eeww, makes me want to puke! lol. I grew up in the country climbing trees, scaling cliffs, and hunting, and it was the best! So much fun! When I see kids of today spending all their time in front of a play station, because the local council has made a state wide ban on tree climbing, because they are so afraid of being sued... well I just get really mad. I think of all the bland conservatives at their desks, terrified of the possibility that someone somewhere is having any fun or feeling really really alive, and coming up with new ways to dampen the spirit of the young... Well from now on twinner when I think of these things i am going to think of you, and someone somewhere may hear an impotent voice, fist shaking at the sky, shouting "Damn you twinner! Damn you! this is all your fault!!!..." As I said you really can't know the details in a sad situation like this. You 'think' or 'believe' she was fine, but people can be very good at hiding mental Illness symptoms. And was she also using other drugs at the time? A very large percentage of psychotic episode's begin with drug taking, especially for teens. And when one is talking mental illness, it often engenders a belief in the supernatural, as many of its experiences give one a direct taste of, out of this world. But all this talk about saftey is important. I do believe if someone shows genuine interest in the spiritual worlds, which often start with some dabbling, [just to see if there really is some reality to such things] then that person would be wise to seek out proper training. I myself did exactly that, and was lucky to find great teachings and teachers. I joined Magical Lodges, Witch cults, studied and practised various traditions of Shamanism under different teachers, learned the skills of exorcism and pact making, how to interact and Influence... I had such wonderful experiences as well as some of the most ghastly soul shredding encounters that sometimes left me with my sanity no longer completely intact... And you know what? i can't imagine a better way to have spent the last 20 years, and every minute was absolutely and completely worth it. I sometimes feel so happy for having found this life that I feel like I might burst at the seems. I feel deeply sorry for the bland, the conservatives, the chronically cautious and the plain old cowardly souls that inhabit my earth with me. They spend their little grey lives neatly packaged away, nursing their small private pleasures, their alcoholism or drug addictions, their porn fetishes, begging for safety the way a sadist begs for the whip. They will never know what it feels like to take possession of an animal and run through the Forrest at night [not in some pansy guided visualisation], To become ecstatically One with a powerful ancient God and gain a new set of abilities..., to literally see multiple universes and select the most suitable ones for what one needs, to disappear from one place and reappear somewhere else, to be in two places at once, to battle spirits - and win, to be part of healing impossible conditions, to summon demons, to use ones 'Knowing' to do things one could never normally do, to 'see' how the nature spirits Intersect with out physical world in their stunning beauty and how the subtler levels intersect with them... And to be shaken to ones core so deeply that it takes a few years to reintegrate, but find that when that is over one is better than ever before... Utterly Worthwhile, and I probably only mentioned the tiniest fraction of what I have gone through... -

I totally disagree. Our mundane world needs it because so many people suffer from crisis involving that dimension. Thus there must be sciences teaching people how to interact with it... and multi dimensions are good for us, they stop us getting to fixed -

Sure, and a spirit saved my life by pushing me back from the path of a speeding car. I never said they were not potentially dangerous. Should we ban kids from climbing tree's just because occasionally one falls to his death? If that is your stance on living, what about driving a car? Very dangerous... If as many people met the spirit world as those that drive, Driving would win hands down for the most dangerous past time... lol. And if everyone took your advice there would be no professionals in dealing with the spirit world. A master began as a beginner, and there is no other way to learn. You friend is probably one of those unfortunate cases that had a predisposition towards Mental health Issues. There will always be these sad cases, but it is impossible to know the exact circumstances. For Instance did the Interaction with the spirit trigger the latent condition, or did having already blurry edges lead to becoming very curious about the spirit side? And there are ways to help such people. Also these people are potentially the professionals you mention earlier, - when they have passed through the trials and crisis you mention earlier. I think we have a mental health crisis in the west, and much of that has a spiritual dimension too it, and we have a serious lack of professionals capable of dealing with those problems. Unless people who are interested in Spirit start diving in and exploring one of the most fascinating areas of being alive, we will never have the numbers to help people stuck in situations like your friend. Blessings. Seth Ananda. -
Has anyone used a Ghost or Spirit Box?
Seth Ananda replied to Warrior Body Buddha Mind's topic in General Discussion
Hi Sifu Garry I haven't used one of those boxes. I haven't even heard of one till now. But it is similar to some rituals from a long time back where we used old televisions sets, tuned to the fuzz channel as a way for the Invoked entity to show itself... All I am going to say about the actual experiences is that they were very interesting and worth doing a few times. But, all in all I prefer to have my ritual space clear of technology, and good old fashion evocation when done right, should evoke to visual or at least very strongly 'felt' or 'intuited' manifestation... And to the 'Nay Sayers' on this subject, my take is that people should follow themselves when it comes to spiritual or psychic pursuits, not the fears of others. What does it matter if one gets ones fingers burnt? That is part of the learning process. I got my fingers burnt in these realms, many many times, and I deeply value each experience. I now know first hand, how spirits interact with the energetic body's, how possession takes place, how to detect vampiric presences, and how to not be Influenced by such beings. Also another benefit of working directly with the spirit world, is that one day we are going to be spirits ourselves. The transition over will be much easier for one that is already highly familiar with that realm, than for one who doesn't know the first thing about it... That said, If a person really had very little interest in their path and in deep understanding, and just decided to explore on a whim, I would advise caution. that kind of person may burn their fingers, and never have the drive or Interest, to overcome the consequences. That could be directly detrimental to the rest of their lives... [but I don't think we need to worry about that with Sifu Garry] But it also could be the catapult required to launch them out of their boring mundane mindset... So who am I to say...? To the Mastery of all Inner Sciences! Seth Ananda. -
hehe well I am not really a communist, but that aside, I can see no way that Canberra or Sydney should be on that list...

Looks like a nightmare to me... Imagine the resources required, the Inability to escape advertising, Hack attacks taking over your car or worse, and the very real possibility for the tech to be used for constant surveillance... To me that would be the beginning of a new dark age... I hope we instead scale back to small ecovillages, with shared [high Tech] resources... -
lol! hehe, I didn't expect to find the actual lost teachings... But maybe something about "the Teachings that contained details on such and such were destroyed in the great fire of 1813..." Has anyone heard of these lost teachings?

Thanks again, and very Interesting I like the sound of the movie! maybe Max could play the evil Maoshan wizard trying to stop Kostas ascension? lol - Just kidding And has anyone heard of the lost teachings of Amoghasiddhi?
