Hi Seth - The posture is only needed initially, as soon as you connect to the energy, your body will want to move in certain ways - so let it! This includes moving your spine and your arms - be playful, you can't go wrong.
-
Yeah - the difference is that with LBRP you're clearing outwards and with the healing sounds you're clearing inwards... very similar in that in both instances you're clearing your 'ritual space' - one is in your body, the other - 'out' in the room (and in the mind)
-
There is no answer for that question - 'qi gong' covers a huge number of different practices - and LBRP is just one practice... however - it's most similar to something like the six healing sounds, and fusion in qi gong terms...

Lots of people have experienced it. It's not about clearing negative energy, although it might. It's about simply sitting and surrendering to the power and intelligence that is inherent naturally in your body... It's very simple (almost too simple, because we naturally seek complexity). Have you had experience with other cultivation practices? You've already ordered the book, so give it a go for a few weeks and see how it goes - then tell us what you discover! enjoy

Good thread! Before Crowley, the west had very little 'spirituality' independent from relligion. Crowley started the 'new age' - he brought yoga and othe eastern spiritual ideas to us, he ignited the revival of spirituality that we now take for granted. The aim of magickal practice is not 'external' - manifesting/controlling etc. The first step is to discover your True Will - which is a huge achievement in itself - living according to your True Will is equivalent to Wu Wei in Taoist terminology - it's living your destiny effortlessly - magick is the practice of discovering and then acting out your True Will... Magick is very pragmatic - it adopts any practice that works... so magickal practice is very varied... In terms of rituals - a properly performed banishing ritual (simple space - clearing ritual) can bring about the most incredible, palpable change of atmosphere in a room... I have not tried or experienced any of the high-level rituals, but judging by my experiences with the very simple ones, I can tell there is a lot of power there... I don't practice magick anylonger - although certain techniques I use have a definite similarity to rituals - just less ceremony... Kunlun has replaced most of my practices - I was already moving away from 'directed' practices so it fits for me... The Mao Shan lineage has a similar feel to some western-magickal lineages...

By the way - are we differentiating between third eye and the 'crystal palace' or the 'secret square inch' or whatever people tend to call the part in the middle of the brain? I've read that to open up the crystal cave you must open the third eye (yang) the bit at the lower back of the head - there's a bump there (yin) and the crown (neutral) - you link them up to create a triangle, and a standing wave develops in the middle of the triangle. This parallels what I know of opening up the lower dan tien - belly, hui yin and ming men linked together to create a triangle in the middle of which is the 'real' dan tien... I have had some openings in the back of the head whilst doing RP... but I haven't really practised either of the methods above.

If only you knew how much I get to laugh at my own self-inflicted irony. it keeps things fun! enjoy your practice!

Hey James. How funny us humans are. We create this strong desire to end desire!! You really have to laugh To answer you though - the key is to develop acceptance. I say 'develop' - but it's not something you practice or look for. It's already right here, you just need to get out of your own way to discover it again. So to 'develop' acceptance you start to let go. Whatever comes up - smile and let it go. Trying to be accepting and compassionate will just get you tripping over yourself. And to let go... You really have to laugh

Joe - describe how salt tastes to a person who has never tasted it! Now! As far as I'm concerned, if you can't do that, well you're just avoiding the truth.

Vajrasattva, It's funny how people get defensive isn't it. I know I feel it. Another part of me silently reminds me that if you hold nothing, you have nothing to defend. . Real Bon Po, fake Bon Po - whatever, i suspect Glenn was a pragmatic guy and if he saw something working, he wouldn't start arguing about it being real or fake or this or that - just my intuition on the man. What AugustLeo and other kunloonies ( ) are going through is very real, very potent and something beyond mere technique. It's certainly nice to be shown the same level of respect for what we do as you expect for what you do. I find what you talk about quite interesting - I find this Bon Po very interesting (any research recommendations?) - I find the way you talk about Shakti really interesting - can you go further into this (preferably without cultural jargon - I have some decent understanding of Taoist cosmology/vocabulary, but not Hindu or Buddhist). Your experiences with your own practice are very much appreciated (by me, at least) - but your opinions, judgements and projections of others are less so... Thanks

That's exactly how I see it.

Nils it was great to meet you! I had an incredible weekend. I'm in no doubt about the authenticity of this path. I'll write about my experience in my personal practice section at some point - for now - less talk, more practice.

I'm glad you call yourself ignorant. It's fine for you to think it's nonsense, so there is no point in you ever clicking on a post that has the words Kunlun or Max on. It makes life nice and easy for you... I don't click on David Shen threads, and I certainly don't judge his validity and complain about the posts that I don't read... Last week I went into a bookshop and walked straight past the early learning section. Imagine if I didn't ignore it, imagine I went into the section, leafed through some books and then started to complain to the other customers what complete rubbish it all was... also complained to the manager of the store, saying that I used to like the bookshop, but now I'm considering not visiting it because of all this early learning bull crap.

passenger1980, I've been following this forum for years, and I'm sure the other long-term members will agree that we tend to go through 'trends'. We've had raw food/nutrition trends, we've had CCO trends, we've had David Shen trends, aneros trends, grounding, Buddhism, magick, martial arts, retention, emptiness etc... Each of these trends enjoyed a 'season' of discussions... some longer than others... A forum is based on a community with shared interests and no single goal... you have the freedom to anything you like - nothing is expected of you apart from some decency and respect... The forum is not here to serve your interests, or the interests of any one person. I agree that there is a little too much Kunlun - centred conversation - most of it is caused by the strong emotions involved - for some people it's threatening and for others it's inviting - it's a controversy, that's why it sparks debate. For some this kind of atmosphere is highly energising (Patrick is an obvious example here) for others it's draining. All I can suggest is chill out - everything rises and falls, there will be something new next 'season'. You might not notice but there is plenty of topics floating around, and rather than commenting in those, you end up commenting on yet another kunlun topic, perpetuating what you disagree with. Get a new topic going - spark up people's curiosity and you'll be rewarded with a fruitful discussion...

Who's coming to this week's workshop in France!? Would be nice to meet some TBs!

How come so many people in this forum are in to Kunlun?

Swami Jai, I would suggest you read Winpro's posts again - they're well intentioned.

That's really what it comes down to - the part of you that thinks it knows what makes you happy is such a small, limited collection of blockages... Imagine you've been a prisoner all your life, living in a dank, dark, smelly cell - and all you want, all you think will make you happy would be a paint job and a pot plant - so much more is available to you, but you (or what you think yourself to be) can't see past the prison... by improving your prison cell you end up re-inforcing your identity as a prisoner... this is the problem with all goal-setting type methodologies (which is what the Law of Attraction (as it is sold to us) really is) What Kunlun practice seems to do (for me) is that it teaches you to get out of your own way! It allows a far greater part of You to express itself... The tricky bit is that we're so used to controlling our life from that limited self that it becomes very difficult to let go of control... The real Law of Attraction is about the Tao manifesting its perfection through you - there is no conscious control in this - control is contrary to this flow. The the real law of attraction is far, far simpler than what it's made out to be - much simpler and far more difficult. It's not what you think, because thinking is not part of it. Anette, what has been your experience with the Law of Attraction?
