Now purports to reveal Christianity: Pranic Healer who Mantak Chia copied

the german wikipedia on choa kok sui says the lawsuit against Chia fizzled out. -
in Shou-Yu Liang's Book "Qigong Empowerment" there's a chapter describing the practice ("The nine esoteric seals" - Jiuzi Miling) including mantras, visualization and good explanation. Seems very much the same as kuji in. I have no experience with it though... affenbrot

i just received Amy Wallace's book yesterday. I had ordered it because it was mentioned by you in this thread... I was hooked on Castaneda books for quite some time. I think it influenced me quite a bit, though I'm not sure at all wether to the good or not.... Now starting to read the story of amy wallace feels like a final shutting down of my private Castaneda case... like " Castaneda 3 - the final solution " or such. Really very interesting to learn about the person behind it. so thanks for that hint! affenbrot

while this looks like another move of the american government to control its people, I wonder why Google previoulsly had no problem to censor the webcontent in china voluntarily but now cries out loud...

cool discussion, I'm especially happy about hagars views here. I know too many people who in my view are off into questionable ideas, every pile of dogpoo on the trottoir is a "sign" the universe is giving them, and things "manifest" or don't "manifest" because they did or did not make it right, because "everything is in the mind" and so on. Don't want to draw down the discussion onto my level though (I do not feel fluent enough to contribute on your philosophical level in the moment) There is a psychological interpretation I read in a Stephen Wolinsky book, where he calls this idea of manifesting "infantile megalomania" . He explains how at a certain age little childs may come to the conclusion that through their behavior and thoughts they are magically manipulating the world. Like when they are hungry and cry they are fed, when they feel their wet pants need changing it happens. So they may develop a believe that through their actions they can control the world (which in their conception is mostly the parents). When it does not happen they will start to wish and think about it more and more until it finally is fullfilled (and their unconscious believe pattern proofs true). So people who try to manifest through visualization and the like may kind of regress into that childlike state. ...mh, I still believe in magic though... affenbrot

Still the inconsistency of the location of the kanda is striking -at the place of the manipura chakra -below the muladhara chakra (where is that??) -at the muladhara chakra -between the anus and the root of the reproductory organ (o.k. probably means muladhara chakra) -12 inches above the anus - at the cauda equina (reads more like mingmen to me here) My impression is that the authors don't have much idea neither about the location nor the function and purpose of it. Looks like they stumbled about this in some ancient texts and go oops, well we haven't heard about that before, so let's integrate that into what we until now thought was the energetic structure layed out for kundalini yoga. I mean, is there any theory and practice in yoga that really makes use of kanda specifically? They fail to explain the difference or relation to the chakras more clearly. To me it looks like a reveberation of ancient knowledge and practice long forgotten in India but that developed and blossomed in China. I would like to know though in what traditional texts (vedas?) it shows up. And I love the description of "shape of an egg and is covered with membranes" and "golden" . These stimulate my inner gazing nicely... affenbrot

Hi, many years ago I browsed a book by Patrick Kelly at a friend's home. In it was a picture of a smiling old taoist it said his name was White Cloud. Now by chance while browsing the internet I found this picture (although here in very poor quality, the original is very sharp). I'm almost very sure that this is the picture I saw back then. Now I know the HT "lineage" refers to One Cloud from White Cloud monastery or/and Long White Mountain tradition, so very probably this guy is NOT the HT Yi Eng/Yi Yun One Cloud and so I'm happy to announce that my post is totally meaningless. affenbrot

friend of mine went to several courses with him in germany and was always very positive about the training and techniques as well as the general atmosphere of the group and Ravi Shankar. affenbrot -
so the Thirteen Chapters are not specifically about Taiji? I heard about the book several times - do you think it is a valuable reading for someone like me who is not into Taiji? And do you know what Dai Long Bang suggests to charge the dantian if meditation doesn't? thanks, affenbrot

I am again gravitating towards the formulars in the moment. Funny, just in the moment I decided to sell my kan&li tapes, I thought how I actually liked the practice (especially with chia) and would like to pick it up again. I'm curious and fascinated by these formulars since a long time, so right know I believe I just want to learn and practice them (at least a goal in my spiritual practice after all ;-) , no matter how real, authentic and regarding spiritual cultivation - valuable they are supposed to be. Me too has following the highly inspiring discussion on the ht board. What my sifu said about alchemy also goes very much towards the perspective that you sit and the formulars unfold by itself. Still I'm coming back to this way of alchemy again and again. Some part of me still believes it's the real thing. I hope it's not bad karma that I'm so fascinated by it. Regarding Winn's formulars, I only heard a tape course. What he has to say about the theory behind I found very inspiring, but I have a general problem with courses that are just taped real workshops. To much boring time inbetween (like you are forced to listen to how everybody gets up, shakes loose, laughs, settles down again and performs slow movements, ughh) I did the kan& li with chia once live and the meditations were very "real" and physical. When I practice it, I still recall my body memory from that time. affenbrot

I was briefed on that story before I came down. I have not gone over it. It's interesting. Let me try to put it in context, And then I'll see if I can answer it. I have no idea what what it's about. The existential poetry of Donald Rumsfeld

my top favourite is Volvic. I don't always buy it, since it's not the cheapest, but I love the taste. Because I'm so enthusiastic about stevia in the moment I now just take tap water and add a little of the powder so just to cover the metallic tase of the pipe. A friend of mine keeps telling me how absolutly fantastic his new 4 levels superfilter from Canada is, so I think about getting one, but like voice I am insecure about the value of osmosis and the loss of minerals. affenbrot and I realize since some time with other water i buy (mostly from turkey, austria and italy) that tastes soo fresh and soo soft I am highly suspicious that they seem to add some subliminal taste to bottled mineral water without declaring it, probably because it is below the amount they need to declare it. I hate this. I do want to know if and what it is they add!

the picture below shows the national GNPs as anamorphotic illustration. To me it also shows how the West sucks the energy of the whole planet. edit: here's the picture:

I was actually thinking more in lines of speed or density of time, which then is more a matter of perception and consciousness (I had one strange stop of time the first time I tried tummoessence's posted experiment btw. but could not repeat it). So I would define a high speed of time is a high density of time is less time correlating to more space and vice versa. My vision of that space is one of different scales. Like if you take pulsations on various levels. You have to slow time considerably to be able to watch the spin of an electron (very small space) as a slow undulation. To be able to watch the oscillation of our universe from bigbang to big crunch (very big space) one needs to speed up time. Trying to do so I cannot help but panic... Now I wonder about hypothetic legendary yogis said to live inside mountains for centuries and if there is some correlation to my above confusion. trying to change velocity affenbrot
