  1. Time and Space

i just want to throw in some undigested thought. yesterday I read an excerpt of eric juliens The science of the extraterrestrials. Here he talks about ufo propulsion that would manipulate the density of time and thus as well altering the space they want to move in. He says "the more time there is the less space there is and conversely. he also states " The discrepancy between material and spiritual is but the result of a difference of flow of time". and - excuse my brainstorm- I heard the saying: alchemy is the empowerment of time, martial arts is the empowerment of space. whatever. affenbrot
  2. maybe you could move the "off topic" from the basement into the tao lounge. Then probably more people will notice its threads. another idea : maybe one could keep the taoist discussion strictly on practice/philosophy, other related topics like deodorants into another group and still leave the real off topic topics in the basement. Nice new spacey blue design, I like it. a.
  3. raw food & cheese etc.

  5. Stevia rebaudiana

hi, it's a really amazing plant! I ordered a stevia extract in form of white powder and received it today. I put a tiny litlle bit (point of knife) into a big bottle of water and it's so sweet like it was a bottle of coke!! They say you can do bakery and cooking with it as well, which I will surely try. It contains no sugar! The herb is said to prohibit karies and is beneficial in cases of diabetes! Guess why it was banned by the FDA, which unfortunately also influenced the ban in the EU and Germany. In the meantime you can buy it as powder for tooth care In Japan, I read a number like they do 40% of their sweeties with Stevia already. Here it is also sold as liquid concentrate (the way it was traditionally prepared in paraguay), various kinds of extracts (i tried the one that claims to be the optimum so you experience no bitter taste when overdosing - called Chyrsanthin A), dried leaves, powdered leaves, tabs etc. Have you known about it? I'm totally excited about my discovery! .. and outrageous why the government/industry prohibits its use in food! affenbrot
  6. Stevia rebaudiana

good idea! I'll get me seeds and grow my own
  7. Stevia rebaudiana

after reading a german stevia forum it seems that there are a lot of very different products and qualities around, some mix in additional filling, some even sorbit. Maybe you had bad luck and got questionable qualitiy? (but in the moment I am so enthusiastic about it i would be not ready to notice anything unfavorable about it in any case ) a link about scientific research of the plant and its uses i just found : european stevia center and a quote for all conspiracy theorists:
  8. amazing thing. I was wondering today why he would try to hold his breath for nine minutes at the end of this, the time it would be harder, because he is already was exhausted and weak! I believe without that he probably could have made it!? then I was wondering if maybe part of this was about shapeshifting... Living inside a goldfish bowl in water until you transform. so the week long preparation would make sense... affenbrot now the record holder is still german

  10. a random guess: wingmakers I remember Barabara Ann Brennan describes the dantian structure as a different plane than the chakra system, some of her texts are copied at the above site.... affenbrot
  11. Sacrum vs. Dan Tian

From my experience when I did a kundalini yoga intensive once for six weeks, the energy we generated there was sooo amazing but 90% were gone after just one week. Even from simple qigong practices like standing and then gathering, the energy seems to stay and be available much much longer. Also i found that yoga people I met often have this glowing charismatic energy around them, qigong people often on the contrary - I believe because they store it inside their bones and dantian and don't "waste" it. in my view that's one of the fundamental differences between yoga and daoist qigong: the concept of storing. affenbrot p.s. in classic qigong one would first focus on charging and gradually building up the energy inside the dantian over some time, and only when it's really "full" one would start to move it, everything earlier would be "empty circulating" and "not the real qi". This doensn't answer where yogani draws his vast amount of energy from though... Do you feel the energy from spinal breathing stays? Does it build up?
  12. Everyone list your goals!

I'm usually the first to start ranting when a teacher withholds the means and didactics to progress towards something he represents and you want to achieve. But to apply the mindset of goal-achievers and businesspeople to spiritual practice, that's s.th. I am highly suspicous about. I feel more comfortable maybe with the mindet of the artist when it comes to this field. Goals can create inner tension so easily; what about taking the joy in immersing yourself into some discipline? Is a fixed goal necessary for this? Does a pregnant women work on her goal everyday to birth her child? affenbrot
  13. Everyone list your goals!

I deeply distrust this approach. I believe one cannot pursue spiritual goals like a businessplan. It's more like stalking, staying soft, ready to change and ajust, never quite knowing for sure, being ready to be surprised by the unknown. affenbrot

  19. Herbal medicine as poison to the body

there has been a similiar (shorter) article in a german newspaper lately. To me it is very obvious which interest groups are responsible for spreading this kind of news! affenbrot
  20. Lifeboat ethics

I still would say it is not a good thought experiment to find out how you structure your values, because: I have the idea that this situation is one of life and death. In a life and death situation my reptilian brain parts would gear in. There is no reptile with ethics and values beyond eat /not eat, live/ die. Reptile and moral don't go together. Acting from this part of the brain I probably would throw out just the first three without thinking much. Which does not show my kind of values but just my kind of survival instinct and panic. A question like -you have a certain amount of money at hand you have to donate to people, how would you decide? - would allow more contemplation of ethics, imho. affenbrot
  21. agoraphobia

it was tao1776 who shared his experience with agoraphobia. I jumped in later when the topic changed more into EFT. I try EFT mostly out of curosity, not because there is some special issue I want to work on at the moment. Very nice little fairy tale by the way - I would love to have this as a guided meditation tape affenbrot
  22. Bill Bodri articles
